In the interest of #bodypositivity I want to share my progress photos. I'm not trying to reach a certain goal or a desired look. I'm not even documenting the journey. But earlier today I noticed a change in my shape. I've gained some muscle and cut down in certain areas too. When we post to social media is always the good side, the best picture, the most flattering angle. And sure, I did pick the better three of the 15 odd photos I took. But I am not wearing makeup, haven't fixed my hair, or found the nicest lighting. I'm sweaty after a tough gymnastics class and am very tired. I'm still quite round in places too. But my body is improving. I feel healthier and better. These may not be the best pics but I'm happy with my body, and I want to share that. Being strong and having muscle is not an acceptable look for women where I come from. It's not considered feminine. Because the ideal woman has to appeal to a man. Because so much of what we see is not real, and it makes us feel shit about ourselves. But look! I'm real and I am happy with my "not mainstream perfect" body. You should be too. Every body is beautiful. Every life is a journey. #celebrateyourself #bodybeautiful #woc #poc #strongwomen #strongwoman #postexercise #everybodyisbeautiful #thislife (at Kensington, New South Wales)
