special round of the randomized tumblrsexyman tournament
Binah (lobotomy corporation and library of ruina) vs gojo satoru (jujutsu kaisen)
binah
Gojo
Note: this is a power scaling poll that's separate from the sexyman tournament
This is also so I can set up the bracket for round 2 of the poll
Btw this poll last for 3 days because I'm lazy with my tournaments lol
Imma just put this video here for people who either doesn't know binah or project moon games, or gojo and jjk
Although people here can come up with their own conclusions, also this is in a reblog but I'm putting it on the og post
I’m bringing powerscaling to tumblr
ngl i find it so annoying that people keep comparing megumi to gojo in terms of power and when im talking power im talking their current states of power. or megumi to any other adult sorcerer cause like... thats a kid vs an adult???
idk man who is gonna win between a child and a grown man?? you tell me
not only that but theyre acting like megumi has to have his full potential right at that moment just because its mentioned a ton by others and while i agree that it is really disappointing that by the end of the manga we never get to see it... thats more of a writing fault on gege's account than a character one.
not only that but megumi doesnt get all that much time to explore his skills in the manga or anime. like, ngl its actually just kinda sad because the culling games was arguably the peak of his power that we get to see (not saying that he'll never reach his full potential but when he does... yeah we wont be there for it). and he's pretty damn good, he can go into the shadows have an incomplete domain and he has control of most of his shikigami
actually during the culling games his body gets taken over so... yeah he's not gonna have as much time as yuuji did to get stronger thats kinda a given when your body doesnt become yours but yknow how it is
also i think people are forgetting... the gojo and zen'in fight a while back between the limitless and six eyes user vs. the ten shadows... it only ended in a draw because the ten shadows users summoned mahoraga on the six eyes user back then.
sure i dont doubt that he did some further damage than that but mahoraga was the main reason that he won and people just tend to forget that when it comes to megumi. his ability is insanely strong and cracked, yes, but he's also just a kid.
hell even teen gojo didnt have it all figured out. although i will admit if you put teen gojo (before his awakening) in a fight with megumi i do admit that megumi would lose (if he decided not to summon mahoraga that is).
but yeah i just think that its kinda annoying when people try to powerscale megumi to gojo. like of course he's gonna lose, everyones losing to gojo (well except sukuna i guess 🙄)
I love that they explicitly fixed the power scale in the WOT series.
(For non-book fans like me: in the books male channelers are ~6 power stages more powerful than female channelers. It's I think presented like only the 'upper limit' of male channelers is 12 stages above female channelers, but since we only see very powerful male channelers it statistically amounts to at least the former. And the power scale is probably logarithmic, too.)
And in the series from a conversation between the forsaken it's made explicit that the TV version doesn't have a inherent power difference between the genders. Now we only need trans channelers, though honestly really fixing that part of the worldbuilding is difficult imho.
BORED… EOC endgame power scale.
Hey! I saw that Sequel Fanfic Ask Game, and I thought I’d -well- ask:
💻
I’ve had to do a lot of research for my own fics, so I’m curious. 😅
Oh I do a lot. Like a lot, a lot.
About my personal life, my literal job is to do research. I'm responsible for helping out with a COVID-19 Surveillance Team. Back at UCLA, I helped out with a Bioengineering Project responsible for creating a machine that would help ALS patients communicate via brainwaves. I even wrote a paper about it. So with Attack on Prime, I really have to do my research in order for everything to make sense and prevent as little plots holes coming up as I possibly can.
For example, with what we know about energon being harmful to humans and the titan's regenerative powers, I've had to create a power scale:
Pure Titans with no energon: Any energon blast will disintegrate them, no matter where they are shot, because of the inorganic material devouring the organic one.
Titan shifters with no energon: Same rules as the first, and they can loose their actual limbs, since their titan bodies are merely extensions of themselves, and the energon would just spread a lot faster and prevent regeneration. We later learn in the show that the Founder Ymir is the one responsible for regeneration, since she's stuck in this pocket dimension that defies the laws of space and time, where she's able to repair wounds with sand and a bucket of water. But the Founder can't catch up to this repair because it's inorganic material devouring the organic parts.
Pure Titans with energon: Faster regeneration time, traditional weapons don't have the same effect it used to, and the nape of the neck rule applies once again. However, energon based weapons can be used to slow down regeneration.
Titan shifters with energon: Same rules as the third, but depending on the type of titan, your powers will be amplified, and that will be discussed later on in the story.
There's also the matter of why would energon provide such a help now, when it was clearly proven to be dangerous to organic material? The energon is not just affecting the titan shifters, it's affecting the entire power of the titans, and you will see these effects later.
(And some of you might be wondering, well energon was never shown to be dangerous to humans in TFP. Well, Rafael was a death's door after an indirect shot from Megatron, who had dark energon in his system. So we can assume that energon is just as dangerous to humans as dark energon.)
And this isn't the only thing I've done research on. The future chapters that I've written up on the shelf, we are going to see Hizuru, and I had to do extensive research on what Japan looked like during the 1920s-1930s in order to capture an aesthetic of what Hizuru would look like.
I feel like if I talk any more, I might spoil some stuff, but again. I invoke the rule of Chekov's Gun when reading Attack on Prime, because those little details matter. I'm not putting it in there willy-nilly.
