60 days of productivity challenge day 28/60

I just signed up for my first course to become a medical assistant. I really need to find out if I want to become a physician assistant or a medical doctor. I need more hands on experience. What prompted this? Meeting with the pre pa advisor made me feel very inadequate. Sorry! I just am a Whole Foods employee with no patient care experience. Need to do more things that will make me stand out.

Hey y’all! Here’s my first attempt at an infographic. Eventually I’ll learn how to make it better (especially in regards to sizing lmao) but I thought I’d try it out. This is how I personally like to block out my time on google calendar so I know when I need to work and when I can relax. I don’t love scheduling out every single minute of everyday so I include a lot of blank space. To change the colors for each type of task you can make a separate calendar for each task like I do (though it’s more time-consuming and I wouldn’t recommend unless you use it for work and classes like I do in-person) or you can just assign colors to each class/ type of task too! I hope you like it. :) Happy studying!

I'm so tired from this week but I HAD SUCH AN AMAZING DAY OF SHADOWING IN THE OR YESTERDAY!!!!! I did rounds with one of the PAs, then observed another PA do a partial knee replacement then a total knee replacement!!! It was so wild and I got to be in the actual OR and see it!!! It's so crazy and the experience was out of this world!!! I think I definitely want to do some sort of surgery sub specialty as a PA in the future 😍

I can’t explain how terrified I am about applying to physician assistant school. I keep overthinking that I won’t be accepted. I look at my GPA, my patient care hours, and the activities I do outside of my community and I still feel like I’m not good enough to be a potential candidate.

Of course my intrusive thoughts are blocking the potential I may have. But sometimes I can’t help by thinking too much. I don’t have the greatest grades or community service background. And yet that negativity won’t get me anywhere. I’m so lost right now, and so scared. I feel like this is a journey I’m going through alone. I’ve been through so much in 2018 that not being accepted to PA school in 2019 will break me.

Visual Notetaking (aka Cheat Sheets)

Visual notetaking has been my absolute savior this term with online exams. If your exams allow for open-note or open-book this is extra useful as you can write down things you missed from your lectures, things you found in the book (with page numbers), general concepts, “cheat sheet” topics/tables. The limitations are endless! This one proved especially useful during my second organic chemistry exam this term as I could quickly see each reagent and know which one was being used!
