⚠️Vote for whomever YOU DO NOT KNOW⚠️‼️
Round 2
Preventer (The Fifth Defiance)
Prince Average (Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarves)
I know both/neither
Reassurer + Preventer
DID TERMS (NO ENDOS/DEMOS/TULPAS - TRAUMAGENIC ONLY) COINED BY: Lyre system/The unconcious
Reassurer:
A headmate who supports their fellow head mates when they feel they’re not doing their tasks/roles correctly (eg. If another alter feels like they’re not properly masking, a reassurer will support them and assure them that they’re doing well)
Preventer: (OCD DID system term)
A headmate who spots and prevents new bad habits from developing (eg. Spotting a possible new compulsion and stopping it from becoming one)
[Preventer.]
I imagine Duo as an adult being kind of obsessed with preparedness. He's the guy with the pocket knife, a first aid kit, Paracord bracelet, and a backup system for his backup system. Heero's definitely his opposite in this regard, flying by the seat of his pants, scraping along like he does in the show.
So a headcanon of Duo as a Preventer for me: he's the guy with something to prove, the one who anguishes late into the night over their team reports only to have Heero gloss over them the following afternoon before adding his lazy signature to the top.
They eventually are brought to a board for promotion, and Duo's sweating bullets, anxious if he made the grade. When they assess them as a team Duo uses 'we' liberally when discussing their previous work, never once rightfully claiming all of the hard work for himself.
When they finally ask Heero to describe his performance that quarter he calmly places a hand on Duo's shoulder and says, "he's the reason for our success, I haven't done a thing."
They promote them both anyway. Duo, for being the hard worker bee that he is and Heero for his honesty and — let's be real — his ability to take a hit to the head.
