Do any endos know about the theory of structural dissociation? all children are born one personality with ego states. these ego states exist until about 6-8 years old depending on who you ask. Then, by around 7-10 depending on who you ask, the ego states merge together to form one fully-developed personality. However, when a child goes through multiple traumatic situations before the age of 6-8, the brain decides that merging their ego states is not safe. So instead, it pushes the ego states away from each other, and amnesia walls go up. With the amnesia walls up, the ego states form into their own personalities. That's how a system forms.

No, it's not that your brain goes through so much trauma that it splits itself. If that was the case, then the point that "we don't know the brain to its full extent" might be valid. Even then, probably not. However, since it is widely known that the theory of structural dissociation is accurate, there is literally zero room for another way a system could be formed.

I wish people would do their research before claiming cdds don't require trauma.
