You are the youngest child of Bail Organa, King of Alderaan. Your brothers? Anakin, the eldest, and Varlo. Although all of you are extremely close, hardly anyone outside of your kingdom knows of you due to your two brother's popularity. Your best friend and fiancé of Anakin, Padmé, constantly has to remind you that the recognition of what you do for your own people by your people along with her's and your family's love, that recognition from outside of your kingdom doesn't matter. Yet, that changes when you meet a certain prince.
Note: Any warnings for chapters will be at the top along with word counts and summaries.
Hey @hellotherekenobi here’s Prince!Obi!! I hope he turned out good, this is actually the 2nd version bc I didn’t like how the first one came out. I hope you like it Kara!! ❤️❤️
So...I see that you too are into Prince!Obi....got any hcs that you've liked so far??
I love all of them! The handmaidens and G6 are my favorite additions and I personally like the Qui Gon lives.
THAT BEING SAID
The only one I disliked mainly bc it did my boi G6 wrong was when @bb8sworld and @hellotherekenobi got in an angst war about G6’s plating. I had to add in some fluff to it bc he’s a soft pure boi that deserves the world.
Hello everyone👋🏻😁 and welcome to my revamped masterlist!
First off, the tag list. I do have this link right -> here
But if you'd rather, please feel free to either leave a comment or message me. Any requests or questions are also always welcomed😊
Secondly, I'll link any key updates on here as well. I'll have an update board just before each of the stories are linked.
Lastly, I'll have brief (and terrible) summaries of each of the series now. I also want to add that any warnings will be said in the beginning of each chapter/one shot. And, although I do write the reader as a female, there are some that could actually be perceived as gender neutral. I am also looking to write some gender neutral one shots in the future.
With all of that being said, enjoy the chaotic update/posting schedule I live by😂
I love you all and the continuous support you shower me with😊

Summary: Reader and Obi-Wan begin the writing of the letters. Throughout the passing months, there's significant moments that neither of them forget...
W/C: 3.3k
Warnings: angst, mention of passed away parent
- - -
The first letter from Obi-Wan came in two days after he had left. At the time, you were walking with Anakin as he was in between meetings. He may have been the one who’d prefer managing the troops, but he could more than hold his own when it came to politics.
Anakin gave you a teasing smirk as the messenger handed you the letter. “Is it from your boyfriend?” he said while playfully nudging his shoulder into yours.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t keep yourself from smiling.
“He’s not my boyfriend. He’s my… friend.”
Your brother looked at you disbelievingly. “I don’t think you can call someone just a ‘friend’ when you two nearly kissed. Twice.”
Shock filled you. Your eyes widened as you whipped your head to look at him.
“Oh yes. Did you really think Varlo would keep that a secret? Or Padmé?”
Embarrassment filled you. You weren’t surprised about Padmé. Her and Anakin were a couple. What confused you was Varlo telling Anakin about the night at the ball. He seemed like he didn’t care, so you thought he would keep quiet.
“I-I don’t know what to say,” you stammered.
It caused Anakin to laugh. “It’s fine, sis. I’m happy for you. Prince Kenobi is a good man. Besides, mom and dad seem to even like him.”
You felt your embarrassment change to happiness. “Really?”
“Really,” he said with a soft smile. “I’ll let you get to reading. I’m due for an appointment with Sir Fisto.”
The two of you said your goodbyes before you made your way to the gardens. You once thought that your spot on the bench under your favourite tree was special before, but not like now. Now it was where you and Obi-Wan had spent most of your time together. It was where he held your hand as he comforted you.
When you sat down, you wasted no time. As you read the first words, you smiled.
-
My darling,
I hope that your world at home has felt just that little bit brighter since those days as it has for me. Commander Cody has noticed a change in me, and I am proud to say I know why.
Despite this, I miss you as every second passes. As I promised, I will find a way to visit you again. The moment I know of a day, I will write you immediately to tell you. Who knows? Maybe I’ll know when I’ll be able to see you next in the next few weeks.
Anyways, my dear, I hope you are well and I wait in anticipation to see your first letter. The thought of hearing your thoughts again excites me. Especially if you have any stories from your villages left. I would be more than delighted to hear about the little younglings that vie for your attention.
May this find you well and that you haven’t forgotten me in these days. It would be truly heartbreaking if it were so.
Yours,
Obi-Wan Kenobi
-
You couldn’t get to your room fast enough. It was the only place that you could think of that had a quill and ink and, most of all, privacy. Elation filled you with each quick step you took.
The letter may not have been long, but that didn’t matter. All that mattered was that he missed you just as you missed him. Not only that, but he wants to hear more stories. Perhaps you’ll send him a few. Or would that be too much?
In the end, it didn’t matter. If you knew him, he wouldn’t mind. He’d probably say he’d rather more than less.
So, you took your quill in hand for your reply. Starting off, after saying that you missed him as well and that you felt the same, about his remark about children being ‘younglings’. It was the most adorable thing in the world to you. You only wished that he had called them that when he was still here.
-
And that’s how it began. The two of you wrote each other every day. His letters would always arrive early in the day, and you would write a response just as quickly. This went on for five months.
Some were simply just the two of you conversing back and forth. Others… Well, others were most purely love letters. They were always mainly from Obi-Wan’s end. His way with words was a lot more elegant than yours. Yet he would always let you know that your insecurities were unfounded.
It was always sweet when he made sure that you weren’t being stupid or that you were doing something wrong. Most of all, he helped you through a new transition.
As the days went on, more and more people started paying attention to you. After all of these years, people were finally seeing the work you did for your kingdom. Hardly anyone was using you as a gateway to your brothers. They were truly coming to you!
When you had told Obi-Wan, he was so proud of you. He said how much you deserved the recognition. You had asked if it was his doing but he swore it wasn’t. He may have told a few people about you but he didn’t push them to learn more about what you do.
Padmé, other than Obi-Wan of course, was your biggest supporter. She would rave about how popular you were getting.
Yes, you may be getting popular. Some would say even more than your brothers. Though, a small part of you wished that you could go back to the way it was before. You wanted to go back to the days that only Obi-Wan noticed you.
You had confided in him one day about it. He had written in response: My darling, I understand how you feel. Unfortunately things like this will change. I do apologize if it were due to me, but just think. Maybe this will benefit you in the future. Just think, if you needed assistance in aiding a village or town, you have people who know what you do that would want to help. I hope that you realize how good this could be later on just as I do. If not, then there may be a way to get it closer to how it used to be. Either way, my dear, I hope this makes you feel better.
In truth, it had made you feel better. It made you look at the true benefits your newfound popularity had. Not only that, but it didn’t affect your life as much as you had thought at first. It was just new.
Now, one thing that happened a few times were days that you missed him. Those days it took over your thoughts to the point where you hardly left your room. It usually lasted for a few days and Obi-Wan was always there to talk you through it.
There was one string of days where both of you were in the same slump. Those were some of the deepest conversations you had ever had with each other. Whether it was saying how much the two of you cared for the other, or if you were telling each other about your darkest thoughts.
Obi-Wan had sent this one specific detail that had you simultaneously wishing you were with him and at least glad that he felt he could also confide in you. It was: Sometimes I think of my mother during days like this. I think of how I wish she were still here, to hear her say how happy she is that I found you. I do really believe that she would’ve loved you. And it’s days like this that I miss her the most. It’s days like this where I miss you. Days that I long for your gentle touch against my cheek. Wishing that I could hold you in my arms as we finally have the kiss that never happened. Honestly, darling, I exceedingly wish to be with you during these days and I wish I have found the time to come to you. But this time will still unfortunately have to wait to my dismay.
Forever yours,
Obi
Despite how strongly you agreed with Obi-Wan in that letter, you couldn’t help but feel a warm, bubbly sensation in his signature. You had started calling him Obi in your letters fairly early on. Other than that, him saying forever yours was something he had only recently started saying at the time. It made you smile each and every time.
For him to address himself by your nickname, though, made your heart flutter.
When you had written back, you consoled him when it came to his mother. From what you have told me, she sounds like an amazing woman. I would’ve loved her right back if we had the privilege to meet. As for being in your arms, I also deeply wish to be back there. Each ghosting touch and the feel of your hand in mine makes me yearn to feel it again. I yearn to fully feel the press of your lips to mine rather than a light graze or pressed against my knuckles. I will look forward to the day we meet again.
Your darling,
Y/N
Of those days, they weren’t the deepest of them all, but they were up there. After that, the dark spell of days was shared only ever briefly. Mainly switching between the both of you, each comforting the other as the longing to see the other grew with each passing day.
One day, he had written something that had you puzzled, yet feeling excited. The line was: We will see each other sooner than you know, my dear.
“Varlo, may I ask you something?”
He gave you a mischievous smirk, “I think that just was one.”
You rolled your eyes. “Do you know if anyone is scheduled to visit in the next week?”
Varlo looked off in the distance as he thought. “Other than the people that now only want to talk to you, no. Not that I know of. Why?”
“No reason,” you said, looking back down at the letter. Could he have possibly found a time where he could come back? It would make sense as he didn’t truly tell you that. He probably wanted to make sure he actually could before telling you.
Either way, you wrote your normal reply. Adding in details about how this amazing festival in Naboo was happening in a few days. It was called the Festival of Light and it was something you had always attended. Whether it was because Padmé wanted you there or if you went on your own, it didn’t matter. Other than Anakin, you were usually the only one in your family to go.
You wished that Obi-Wan could see it. It was such a beautiful festival. Your favourite part was the first night where lanterns would be released in the sky. They all floated until they looked like stars themselves, lifting everyone’s dreams in hopes that they will be met.
It was wonderful. What a sight it was to see all of those lanterns become stars. You always had thought that Padmé’s father was a genius to start this tradition. The tradition was well received the minute it was introduced. Although it started before you were born, you had known it all your life. You attended it all your life. Now you wish you could attend it with the one you wished to be with all your life.
That would just have to wait.
-
“I thought you were supposed to be meeting with General Yoda?” you asked Anakin who had his arm linked with Padmé’s. She giggled as Anakin pretended to ponder what you said.
“I was supposed to. A more important matter came up though,” he said with a playful tone. His smirk was a mischievous one as he caught a glance at your friend.
Confusion filled you. What could be more important than a meeting with the high general? With the way he looked at Padmé, though, you assumed that may be the reason. Everyone knew he would drop everything for her.
Anakin looked over at you and you must not have been hiding your confusion as well as you thought you were. To the best of his ability, he nudged his elbow into your arm.
“What? Can I not just spend time with my little sis and my beautiful wife-to-be?”
You rolled your eyes as Padmé spoke, “You mean even more time than you do already?”
You couldn’t help but laugh. It was true. He was almost always with one of you or Varlo. If you tried to separate Anakin from the ones he loved, or at least tolerated, he would have a fit. He craved attention and companionship and you didn’t blame him. It was something that you never knew you needed until you met Obi-Wan.
“Ok, one question you can’t try and dodge, where are we going?”
“Well, you see, sis, that is another question I will dodge. You know why?” You shook your head. He leaned closer whispering, “It doesn’t matter.”
You groaned, slapping your hand against your forehead causing your friend to break into a fit of laughter. All you wanted to know was what he had planned. There had to be something if he no longer was meeting with General Yoda. No one just stood up the man either. Yoda may be a wise and calm man, but he could easily take you down any day. Whether that be physically or verbally.
“Why do you so badly want to know anyways?” Anakin asked. This time sounding genuinely interested.
“No one just reschedules with General Yoda. Especially not you so I’m curious as to the change of plans that involves both Padmé and I.”
Anakin actually seemed shocked by what you said. Almost as if he actually hadn’t thought of an answer to a statement like that. So, he was silent for a few moments. That was, before he finally came up with, “You’ll see.”
Now you were more confused than ever. Was he setting up something with Varlo? Was this all going to be a trick? It wouldn’t be the first and it definitely wouldn’t be the last. Or maybe it was a new person that wanted to meet you.
Thanks to Obi-Wan’s words, you had grown used to constant meetings with people who wanted to ask you about what you do. There were some who asked what was going on between you and Obi-Wan, but those questions usually didn’t last.
You knew there were rumours that people thought the two of you were an item, which was true, but some were disconcerting. Some had thought that he was taking advantage of you for power gain. Others had painted your family in a dark light, saying that they were using you as a way to gain more allies rather than caring about you.
Thankfully, those rumours were rather rare to come across. Plus, Obi-Wan had always told you how they didn’t matter. The two of you found each other, and chose each other on your own. Not because of any outside influence or any ulterior motives.
Your thoughts were racing, unable to settle on one possible answer to what Anakin had planned. You would’ve said Padmé hadn’t known either, if it weren’t for her ultimate calmness. If she were as confused as you, she wouldn’t be as composed or… excited as she seemed to be.
Those racing thoughts were put on hold as your journey led you to the gardens. The sights never failed to put your mind at ease. Now was no exception.
Usually you would come here to read Obi-Wan’s letters. It was free of crowds, leaving you in privacy as you looked over the beautiful handwriting. For a time, you had even kept a satchel that held all of his letters in the garden. That didn’t last long as one day Varlo found them.
In his usual annoying ways, you had to fight to get them back. He teased you, positioning them out of reach until he was done with his entertainment. It was something he did often, lately. Teasing you or playing jokes that would often go too far. A small part of you wondered if it were because he was slowly taking up the role you once held. You hated to see that people no longer seemed interested in Varlo’s political accomplishments. Yet, he didn’t need to take it out on you.
So, the letters had found a different place. A place where Varlo couldn’t find them and hide them and a place that should’ve seemed like a no brainer from the start. Your bedroom.
Even so, the garden was where you would read them. Sometimes you would even write your letters on that bench under the tree.
As the three of you walked through, you listened to the conversation your brother and friend were having. They really were a cute couple, no matter how much you teased them. Listening to them talk only proved this.
The closer you got to the tree, the more you saw excitement grow in both of them even as they seemed to be normally conversing. Now you knew something was up. What kind of plan could Anakin come up with that got them so excited, but never tell you? You thought you were used to being a third wheel before, but this was amplified.
You let it go. It’s not like this was the first time something similar has happened. With that being said, you took a slight lead ahead of the two. A small part of you was hoping that, as soon as you got to the tree bench, you could stay there. That way you could feel close to Obi-Wan although you weren’t.
Continuing on your path, you noticed that Anakin and Padmé were drawing further and further back. Were you walking that quickly, or did they slow down without you realizing. With all of that considered, you just shrugged and kept going. If they wanted to catch up they would tell you.
There was one last corner to turn before you would finally be able to seek some peace.
When you turned the corner, you froze. Were you seeing right? Was this even possible? You turned to look at the other two, but they weren’t there. Was this what they were so excited about? It had to be. Why else would they now have up and disappeared right as you arrive here.
Obi-Wan stood from the bench, facing you with a smile that you could tell he was trying to contain. He still looked just as handsome as the day he had left. The outfit he was wearing was similar to the one he wore at the ball, but much more toned down and casual. Well, casual for royalty anyways.
Tears were building as you smiled bigger than you ever thought you could.
“Obi!” you exclaimed as you could no longer hold back. You ran to him, crashing into his outstretched arms. The feeling of them coming around your back and pulling you in close was enough to make you start sobbing.
“Hello there, darling,” he whispered into your hair. Gently he rubbed your back as he slowly swayed from side to side, refusing to let you go. Even if he did, you wouldn’t.
As you buried your face into his chest you smelled the hint of cinnamon that was mixed with just him.
“I missed you,” you mutter into his chest.
“I missed you too. With all of my being,” he said, making your heart flutter. There were days you never thought you would hear his beautiful voice ever again. You no longer had to worry about that. He was here, holding you as tightly as you were him.
Summary: More soft moments between reader and Obi-Wan as they enjoy being back together
W/C: 3.5k
Warnings: Not smut, but there is some intimacy? Not really though? Idk😅

Apparently, everyone knew about Obi-Wan’s arrival except for you. Anakin and Padmé were just the ones who participated.
As you walked through the halls, basically clinging to his arm, he laid his free hand on top of one of yours as he told you.
“I had also been talking with Anakin these last months, albeit, not as often as I was with you.” He paused to smile at you, gently squeezing your hand. “When I found out of my plans to come here, I wanted to find a way to surprise you. Then, Anakin came to mind.”
“Let me guess. You asked Anakin, then Anakin asked Padmé, and then Anakin told you what she had said.”
Obi-Wan smirked. “Sometimes I forget how well you know your brother.”
A small sense of pride filled you with that.
“But yes, that’s what happened. Of course I had first written to your parents about a few things. They were more than happy to hear that I could make my way over after so long. I think it was something about how their daughter was quite taken with me.”
He looked down at you with that cheeky smile once again. You shook your head and giggled as you lightly pushed him, only sending him slightly off balance.
His laugh filled the halls as he regained his steady pace.
“I do believe that she is quite taken with the prince of Coruscant. The princess couldn’t be happier.”
Obi-Wan’s crystal blue eyes stared into yours while he smiled. Slowly, he brought the two of you to a stop in front of one of the windows. The light of the sun reflected perfectly in his eyes.
When he turned to face you, both of your hands ended up in his one. Although you loved the feeling, you took one hand away to bring it to his cheek. A small giggle bubbled its way out of you at the feel of his beard as he leaned into your touch. The well trimmed hairs were scratchy but in the most delightful way.
Your eyes couldn’t leave his even if you wanted to. The sight of him like this held all of your attention as you slowly dragged your hand down to rest on his chest.
The fact that both of you were leaning in went hardly noticed. It felt so natural that you paid no mind to it. It was only as you were that few centimeters away from the other’s lips that you realized, but you didn’t pull away. No, this was something the two of you had come so close to once before, yet it now had a different meaning. This was more deserved than before.
You were so close until footsteps could be heard from the other end of the hall. Obi-Wan huffed out a sigh of annoyance but didn’t make any movement to pull away from your proximity.
“We really need to find a more private place,” he whispered, causing you to chuckle,
“If I remember correctly, not even that worked, Obi.”
All he did was groan and roll his eyes as his shoulders slumped. “You unfortunately make a good point, my dear.”
You chuckled before the person arrived in your area. When you turned to greet them, it was Varlo. Maybe it was your eyes just playing tricks on you, but he seemed absolutely miserable. More than he had been in the last two months, anyways. Apparently not having the popularity that he used to have was weighing on him more than you had thought.
“Good afternoon, Varlo,” Obi-Wan greeted with a bow from just behind you. As he did, you saw that a small piece of his hair fell out of place. He did nothing to put it back, though, as he stood up.
“Prince Kenobi,” he greeted briskly with a stiff bow.
He seemed rigid in his greeting. Had something gone wrong in a dispute? You weren’t super into the politics of your kingdom as he was, so you didn’t know what possibly could make him like this.
Varlo’s jaw seemed tense, like he was clenching it.
“Is everything alright?” you asked, breaking him out of his thoughts. You could feel Obi-Wan shift uncomfortably behind you. Whatever was going on with Varlo was unsettling him just like it was for you.
“Hm? Oh, yes, I apologize. Just something occupying my mind. Anyways, I really came here to find you to tell you that our parents are putting together a small feast in honour of your arrival, Prince Kenobi.”
“Please, call me Obi-Wan. And thank you. I’ll be sure to thank them later although it’s highly unnecessary.”
“Oh but it is,” you cut in, flashing him a smile.
Obi-Wan chuckled. “Alright, alright. If you say so.”
“I’ll leave you two be. But, Y/N, I should mention that mom is putting this together. So, be prepared,” Varlo said with a playful smile.
You knew exactly what he meant. Whenever your mother would go into planning mode, she always made it the best. If it weren’t for the fact that Obi-Wan had told them before arriving, you would’ve assumed they only had a day's notice. In that case, it would be more toned down. Knowing that she had known well in advance, well, it would be extravagant.
Both you and Obi-Wan said your goodbyes to your brother before he turned away.
“Well, what shall we do until dinner?” Obi-Wan asked when your brother was far enough down the hall. Before you answered, you brushed those few strands of hair back into place.
“Have you unpacked yet?” You turned to look at him, seeing him shake his head no. “Why don’t we do that, then.”
His smile grew even more before offering you his elbow. “Sounds like a plan.”
-
At first, Obi-Wan felt a slight bit awkward. The last time he had a girl in his room, that wasn’t his mother, was Satine. Nothing had happened between them other than simple conversations.
With you, he was a little nervous. He wanted a life with you. Unlike with Satine, he felt like he could see himself with you for the rest of his life. Every part of him was drawn to you in a way that he had never felt in his life.
As the time went on though with you helping him where you could, it felt just as natural as everything else. Obi-Wan could feel himself relax more and more as the time passed.
By the time he had finished, you were sitting at the foot of the bed. Despite his insistence, you refused to make yourself more comfortable further up the bed. Instead you stayed where you were, intently listening to his ramblings. Some were stories from your time apart, others were just simply him muttering his thoughts.
Nothing changed though. You sat and listened, occasionally chiming in at certain details.
Once Obi-Wan was done, he sat beside you. It didn’t take long to find your hand so that he could intertwine his fingers with yours.
“So,” he started, “did that take all the time we had or is there still time?”
You giggled as you leaned against his shoulder. “I’m sure we have some time. Besides, who says we can’t be fashionably late?”
Obi-Wan raised his eyebrows and tilted his head in curiosity. “Is there something your brilliant mind is working up?”
He watched as your cheeks flushed as you smiled coyly.
“Not really. But I did have an idea for after dinner.”
“And what might that be?”
You looked up at him, your cheeks burning an even darker shade than before. You opened your mouth to talk, but closed it before looking away again. It confused him.
“Darling?”
“Never mind,” you said quietly.
“If you think I would say no to whatever your plan is, I’m sure you’re wrong,” he said encouragingly. His free hand came up and turned your face towards him with his index. “What is it?”
When you stumbled over your words, he let his fingers trail along your jawline before cupping your cheek. It was a gesture to comfort you in your doubt, and it seemed to work. He could feel as the tension in your shoulders eased. Even the grip you had on his hand relaxed.
“I- I was thinking maybe… we could come back here after. Together,” you said. Quickly, you continue before he could react, “Not to do anything like, you know. Just to… sleep. And I was wondering if we could read that poetry book that we never finished that night because it was so beautiful and-”
Obi-Wan gently hushed you with a soft call of your name before you’d go into an endless ramble. “Yes,” he said in a breath. “Yes to all of it. Whatever you wish.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
He felt you relax further against him. Almost on instinct, he wrapped an arm around you to pull you closer, pressing a kiss against your temple.
“Now, shall we head down to the feast your mother has put together?”
Chuckling, you lightly pushed off of Obi-Wan to sit up. “Are you sure you’re ready? She never goes halfway with these sorts of things.”
“Always.”
-
“Ok, so I may have underestimated what Queen Breha had planned,” Obi-Wan said with a sheepish chuckle.
What your mother had planned had even surprised you. All of the servants had been dressed in their best. The dining table was set to feed three times the amount of your group. The seven of you hardly made a dent in it all.
When it came to decorations, you would’ve thought that you would’ve been serving every king and queen there was. Yes, you were a part of a royal family, but you had never dined in such a fancy setup. You had thought your normal setup was over the top, but you were dead wrong.
Even Obi-Wan had seemed overwhelmed by it all. The enthusiastic call from your brother had distracted both you and Obi-Wan from your surroundings.
Apparently, despite actually arriving in time, the two of you were the last to arrive. Everyone else greeted you enthusiastically when you sat down after Obi-Wan pulled out your chair.
Varlo didn’t though. Like he was earlier, he had seemed preoccupied. That kept up during the whole meal. You didn’t pay much mind to it as your parents, Anakin, and Padmé all started a conversation lasting the whole meal.
Once you were all stuffed to the brim, Varlo had left. He said that he had something to attend to, yet he wouldn’t say what.
For the rest of you, the conversations continued as the servants all cleared the table without incident. Even if there were, it wouldn’t be a huge deal. Most of them you knew quite well, and so did your mother. They were all good people who strove to do their best in their role. You always smiled whenever you heard how happy they really were.
“Even I underestimated what she would do,” you replied, squeezing his hand gently as you walked down the hall to the sitting room that contained the poetry book.
Normally, your arm would be linked with his, but you didn’t feel like being that formal. You guessed he felt that same as he reciprocated the action without any protest. If he had said anything about it, you were sure that it would only be about how his thoughts were going down the same path as yours.
When you had gotten to the room you needed, you told Obi-Wan to wait as you quickly ran in to grab the poetry book. After you did, you resumed your hand holding all the way to your room first to change and grab some things.
You had disappeared behind your changing screen as he observed your room. There wasn’t much in your room. A few books on the shelf beside your desk, the satchel which held all of his letters that sat on the floor still next to your desk, your bed, and your changing screen.
Everything was going well until you were unable to undo the back of your dress. No matter how hard you tried, each attempt was met by failure.
There was no other choice other than to ask Obi-Wan to help.
Stepping out from behind the screen, you saw him looking out of your window. He had one arm across his chest while his other elbow rested against it as he stroked his beard. It looked as if he was lost in thought only to briefly smile to himself.
“Obi,” you called out. You hated to break his train of thought, but the longer this took, the longer it would be until you could get on with the night’s plan.
He turned towards you, looking slightly confused when you were still in the same lavender dress as before.
“I can’t get it undone, and I… I was wondering if you could help,” you said as you looked at the floor. It felt strange asking this of him. At the same time, it thrilled you. Nervousness took over in the end.
Obi-Wan walked over to you, taking your hands in his. He gently squeezed them in a silent question asking you to look at him. “Only if you want me to.”
You nodded. With a comforting smile, he led you back behind your screen. Turning around for him, his hands worked on the ties at your back. Each lace up your back slowly loosened as he made his way up, letting his fingers graze against your back.
As he made his way up, you couldn’t stop the shiver that went through you as his hand ghosted the bare part of your back. When he was done, he placed his hands on your shoulders, finger slightly under the material of the dress.
The sensation was one you had never felt before as his hands began trailing outwards, bringing the fabric with it. A part of you wanted him to continue, but you knew it was better when he had paused his gentle caresses.
“I’m sorry. I- I’ll let you get changed.”
“It’s alright, Obi,” you said as you turned to face him. “And thank you.”
With a shy smile, he went back to the main area of your room. A part of you wished you could’ve continued, but now wasn’t the time for that. Hell, you hadn’t even kissed yet.
Either way, you pushed it aside as you finished getting ready. Your sleep gown was much more comfortable than your dress. You wondered what Obi-Wan would think of the light blue gown that flowed more and was far less constricting.
-
When you walked out after changing, Obi-Wan’s breath hitched for what felt like the hundredth time today. He knew night gowns were nothing special, but you just looked so… beautiful.
The simpleness of it caught his eye immediately. Yes, you looked amazing in all of your day gowns, but this was just a new level he didn’t know was possible.
He must’ve muttered something about it because your cheeks turned flushed as you took on a demure stance.
Finally gaining some sense, he cleared his throat before speaking, “Shall we continue the evening?”
You nodded, walking over to him before taking his hand to make your way to his room. Although it was no secret that the two of you were together, you had to make sure you weren’t seen. People would most likely assume that something other than what you truly were doing would be happening.
The only people that were told were Anakin and Padmé. They had told you that they would make sure that no one saw either of you. Specifically in the morning. The plan was that Anakin would make sure the hall was clear as Padmé would come get you and escort you to your room. Of everyone, they knew that Obi-Wan wouldn’t take advantage of you. Plus, with your friend knowing of the night you and Obi-Wan had first read this book, she was quick to believe your true plans.
Thankfully, the hall was clear all the way to his room.
Obi-Wan had removed his jacket rather quickly, exposing his white tunic that lay underneath. There was a small area where his chest was slightly exposed, revealing hairs there that matched the colour of his beard.
A small part of you wanted to have the kind of courage that he did and unlace the top of his tunic for him, to feel some of the skin on his chest. That courage wasn’t there. Not a single part of you could muster up the ability to ask, but you didn’t need to. Obi-Wan had caught the way you were looking at him.
Taking a few steps to close the distance between you, he took your hands in his.
“It’s alright,” he said, placing one of your hands on his chest near the ties. “You can if you want. You don’t have to.”
His voice was quiet and soothing. That courage you thought you would never have? It was there now, slowly crawling out as he encouraged you.
Along with his comforting words, you moved your fingers to where the lace laid. With a shakiness, you brought your other hand up to help undo the knot. Before you could start untying it, he placed his hand on top of yours, squeezing gently for comfort.
“Relax,” he whispered. “You don’t have to do this. Stop whenever you like.”
As he took his hand off of the two of yours, the final bit of courage filled you. Slowly, you untied the lace, loosening it until even more of his chest was exposed.
For a moment, you let your fingers graze over the exposed skin and hair. The golden curls on his chest made you smile as you briefly rubbed his chest.
This time, you gained even more confidence as you then let your hands glide down to his torso. Something in you wanted to see more, to feel more, but you weren’t sure if it was the best decision.
When your hands reached his waist, you stopped. Looking back into his eyes, nothing but warmth and sureness radiated from them.
“Go ahead. Like I said earlier, anything for you.”
You let out a shaky breath, gaining even more reassurance from Obi-Wan as you looked in his eyes. So, you let your hands clench the material of his shirt, pulling it up until he lifted his arms, letting the shirt fall to the ground.
You let your eyes explore the surface of his skin, noting every scar until you reached out to trace them all. He told you how many were from training, others from a battle years ago when a random group who wanted to dethrone his father attacked.
-
He worked hard to keep his breathing controlled as your hands explored the surface of his skin. Despite this, Obi-Wan knew that if you felt over his heart that you would be able to feel it racing.
As you traced over his scars, he couldn’t help but let his eyes fall closed. The thoughts that began to run through his mind were becoming intrusive. He didn’t want to rush into anything with you, though. What he didn’t want to do was scare you off and that meant having to keep this all under control.
Plus, he didn’t want to wreck your reputation. Something like this could ruin you, and that’s not what he wanted. You were doing so much good for your people. If they thought any less of you than they do now, he wouldn’t know how he would live with himself.
Instead, he closed his eyes so that he could quell the feeling of desire he felt for you. It was working too, until you reached his shoulders, trailing towards his collar bone.
Nothing could keep his breathing from picking up. The closer you came to his collarbone, the more he felt his want for you. But he wouldn’t let it happen. Not unless you wanted to, and you already had said that you wanted this to be purely just an innocent night. Just reading and sleeping.
So, he shifted slightly, taking a sharp intake of breath as your hand traced his collarbone.
-
This exploration lasted a few minutes as you looked over his freckles that were scattered across his shoulders. Obi-Wan took a deep breath as you traced his collar bone, shifting slightly.
“I-I’m sorry,” you said, pausing your exploration. “Did I go too far?”
“What? No, of course not,” he said quickly to reassure you. “No, it’s just… maybe we should read now.”
Nodding, you went over to the bed. Obi-Wan joined you not long after.
After getting settled under the sheets, the two of you went into a familiar position like the night in front of the fireplace. Only this time, you didn’t stay awake long, falling asleep against Obi-Wan’s bare chest.
Everything, his warmth, the sound of his voice, the comfort of the bed, it all made you drowsy. Obi-Wan noticed and encouraged you, “Go to sleep, my dear. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

“You never told me,” you muffled into his chest. You had no idea how long the two of you had been standing like this, but you didn’t care. Neither did he as he made no attempt at moving.
“I actually did, from a certain point of view,” he said in a teasing tone.
You shook your head. “That’s not fair.” Still, you chuckled before losing yourself in the warm scent of cinnamon that was him once again.
Obi-Wan lightly chuckled. “I do apologize, my dear.” He turned his head so that he could kiss your temple.
“Don’t. It was a wonderful surprise, Obi.”
After what felt like many blissful hours, you brought your head back so you could look at him. His eyes were watery, but no tears fell unlike you. You were sure that there was a wet spot where you had buried your face on his chest. If Obi-Wan cared, he didn’t say anything.
You saw that a couple strands of his hair had fallen in front of his forehead. Out of instinct, you brought your fingers up to gently put them back in place, letting your fingers graze his forehead in the process. Just like you had the first time, you let them gently graze down the side of his face as you brought the hand back.
Staring into your eyes, he smiled and brought a hand up to softly cup your cheek, using his thumb to wipe away the stream of tears still present.. “Alright. I won’t then,” he said quietly.
“Would you mind if we stayed here for a while? Just the two of us?”
He smiled even bigger at your question. “Of course.”
-
It took so much of him to not kiss you. A part of him thought that it may have been going too far. Even though the two of you had nearly kissed all of those months ago, who could say things haven’t changed?
Those thoughts were thrown out the window as you settled against him. The tree showered you both in shade as you sat on the bench. Obi-Wan leaned against the backing as you tucked yourself under his arm. Your head rested against his shoulder as you held his other hand.
He pulled you ever closer with the arm wrapped around you. There was not a single thing about this that he didn’t enjoy and savour. To think that, at a point, he almost believed that he wouldn’t see you again, that he would never hold you again. It just seemed like everything was working against him.
So much was either keeping him home, or brought his travels elsewhere. He had always told you how frustrated he was when he was travelling somewhere else. You had always empathized with his feelings, but you would always work to comfort him through it.
In the end, you always made him feel better about it all. The most memorable line, which he had used a part for you: We will see each other sooner than you know. It just has to wait for a while longer.
There were so many things that you had written him that he never forgot, sometimes repeating them every day or in certain situations. That one, though, was one that he held most close to his heart. It gave him the hope that he indeed would see you again someday.
He remembered the day he received that line from you well.
Obi-Wan was walking to the throne room for a meeting with his father. Commander Cody was close behind, chatting with his brother, Waxer. The plans for travelling to the kingdom of Mandalore had already been put through.
When he had found out about this trip, he wasted no time in going to his father. Obi-Wan didn’t understand why he was being dragged along for no reason.
He was overly frustrated about this one. This was hardly a trip for any actual business. Besides, any business or negotiations that would go on would be his father’s job. Obi-Wan would be basically useless during that time.
No time was wasted when it came to trying to convince Qui-Gon to let him go to you instead of going to Mandalore. But, no matter how hard he tried, his father wouldn’t allow it.
“Don’t you have a friend there? Duchess Satine, was it?”
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. “She’s hardly a friend, pa. We had a fling, but I realized she wasn’t the one. I say we’re hardly on good grounds with each other.”
His father smirked. “Then this would be a good time to make it up to her and get back on sturdy ground.”
“If you’re saying what you think you’re saying, no. I’ve fallen for Princess Organa and I’m not jeopardizing that.”
Everyone suddenly froze. This was the first time he had outright admitted how much he cared for you. Even Cody was frozen in place. Although Cody knew and he had talked about it with his closest friend, this was public. This admission was in front of his father.
As the silence of the room continued, Obi-Wan could feel his cheeks heat up as he realized what he said. He could feel himself begin to sweat as he waited for the reaction.
Cody’s smirk made him feel better until he looked at his father. His expression was unsettlingly unreadable. Obi-Wan’s mind was starting to fill with every worst case scenario despite the fact that he knew of how fond even his father was of you. It didn’t stop his mind from wandering that path.
Then, “How long have you been talking to King Organa’s daughter?”
Obi-Wan cleared his throat. “Every day since we arrived home from Alderaan.”
The room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. He counted the seconds that went by as everyone seemed like even breathing was too much for the tension in the air.
“I’m sorry, my son,” Qui-Gon started, making Obi-Wan’s heart drop in his chest thinking that his father didn’t approve. “I’m sorry but you have to attend. I know your urge to see Princess Organa must be great, but,” he paused.
The pause was hardly registered by Obi-Wan. He was so sure that his father was going to renounce the relationship. But that wasn’t the case.
His father smirked just before he began to speak again, “I really wish that you could alter your own plans so you can see her. I really do. But, especially now that I know that there may be an issue between you and the duchess, I need you to work it out. Especially since you’re going to be king one day and you don’t want to start off with rivalries.”
Obi-Wan broke eye contact with his father, staring down at the ground to try and hide his disappointment. He had gotten his hopes so high and everything was now crashing down around him. Of all moments, this was one of the ones where he so strongly wished to have you near for comfort.
“Please believe me when I say I wish it could be any other way, my dear boy.”
All Obi-Wan did was nod, still not meeting his father’s eyes, before turning and leaving the throne room. He was walking so quickly that he heard Cody’s running steps just to catch up to him.
He didn’t stop until he felt Cody’s hand on his shoulder. Well, it was more of the fact that the commander was pulling him to a halt rather than him stopping willingly.
“Obi-Wan,” he said, turning him by the shoulder so that they would be standing face to face.
“If he sent you so that you would try and make me see that he was right, you don’t have to.”
Obi-Wan still didn’t raise his eyes from the ground. If he were being honest, he was fighting the urge to let tears fall. It felt so childish, but he just missed you so badly.
“It’s been almost four months, Cody,” he muttered, finally bringing his eyes to meet the commander’s. All he could see from his friend was that he sympathized with him. “I haven’t seen her in nearly four months and it’s killing me,” he said, his voice starting to waver.
Cody’s expression softened before he pulled Obi-Wan in for a hug. Obi-Wan always did see Cody more like a brother rather than just a friend or a guard. This was just one of those moments that proved that.
“I know,” the commander said quietly. “I wish I could help you in this matter. I saw the way you looked at her. She looked at you the exact same way. You deserve each other.”
Once Obi-Wan pulled away from his friend, Cody gave him a comforting smile.
“Thank you, Cody.”
“Go,” he replied. “Go write to her. I know you want to.”
With a smile, he thanked his friend, his brother, once again before taking off down the hall. He may have been in better spirits, but he still had more that seemed to drag him down.
One thing he was glad about was that your castle was under a day’s travel away. It helped that the borders of your kingdoms ran along one another, while both of your castles were built relatively close to one another. So, it made it easy for the two of you to exchange letters quickly.
Still, he would have to wait another day to see your reply to this one. He felt like a petulant boy as he wrote his complaints. The one detail he wrote, that he was afraid to see your reaction to, was his past fling with Satine. How he had broke it off when he realized that he wasn’t in love with her, that she was dragging him down more than standing together as equals.
Obi-Wan waited to send it until he got your evening letter. He knew his always arrived in the morning for you, and he received yours in the evening. For you, he imagined that it helped quell all your issues throughout the day. For him, your letters helped erase his problems at the end of the day. It was what always had him powering through the day, knowing that your letter would be waiting for him.
So, once your letter of response came, he couldn’t wait. The moment it was handed to him, he paused his reading of a village dispute to read it.
His fear that you would react negatively towards his past with Satine was flushed away by your words. You reacted so gracefully, telling him that you understood. You had said that you weren’t expecting that you were the only one who had caught his interest his whole life.
As for his complaints about the trip and how his father wouldn’t let him go to you instead, you soothed him. Every word that you wrote so elegantly reassured him that this wouldn’t be the undoing. You reminded him that he needed to be patient, that you were also patiently waiting for the day that you would be reunited with him.
It had been the letter that held those words that stayed with him every day and still did to this day.
That was the day he had been the most frustrated with it all. He was so close to just running away. He wanted to just leave, abandon all of his duties just to go and see you. Whether it was for a single night or for the rest of his life, he wouldn’t care.
Though, between you convincing him to stay and Cody helping him through, he managed. Now, he had you. Your head pressed somewhere between his shoulder and his chest as the two of you just simply sat together under the tree. The tree that held so many first memories as you both sat on the very bench you were on now.
Obi-Wan let out a sigh of contentment, causing you to look up at him.
“What is it?”
He gave you a soft smile. “Just happy to finally be here. With you.”
“Me too,” you replied, pressing your head even more comfortably into him.
Once again, the two of you sat in a comfortable silence. The sounds of birds and the light breeze was soothing along with the scents of all the flowers around the garden. He took it all in almost as if this would be the last time he’d ever see it.
He couldn’t help but constantly look down at you. Just like the first time, you blew him away. Every time he looked your way, that was exactly what happened. It never failed in those four days, and it wasn’t now.
After a while, he noticed that he had been staring at you the whole time. The only thing that broke him from his thoughts was your soft call of his name.
“Yes, darling?”
You shifted your head so that you looked up at him again. Obi-Wan’s breath hitched at the way your eyes peered into his.
“How long are you here for?” There was a hope that brightened your eyes. He loved it. It was something he wished to see every day.
For once, he had actual good news for you.
“For the next week. Or however long it takes for you to get tired of me,” he said with a cheeky smile.
“I’m afraid if we went by the latter, you’d be here far longer than a week,” you came back.
He let out a laugh that was met by your sweet smile. “I believe that would be most favourable.”
Your smile grew before you settled back into him. Before you could truly get comfortable, though, you moved back so that you could look at him.
“Tomorrow is the Festival of Light in Naboo. It’s an event I attend every year. Would you like to join?”
Obi-Wan smiled, letting go of your hand so that he could graze his fingers over your jaw, lightly stroking your cheek with his thumb. It caused your eyes to flutter shut for a moment before opening them again.

As Obi-Wan stared out over the landscape, nerves overcame him. The only thing that broke him from his thoughts was his horse, Boga, shifting underneath him. Somehow she always managed to pick up on how we was feeling.
“Sorry, girl,” he said as he leaned to rub comforting circles on her neck. “Didn’t mean to worry you.”
Boga gave a small snort in response. Obi-Wan couldn’t help but chuckle. She was stubborn about these things. Sometimes he swore she would lecture him to take care of himself if she were a human rather than the beautifully white stallion that she was.
Sitting back up, he looked back over the horizon. A part of him wished that the sun was rising or setting but it was in the middle of the afternoon.
Sighing, he lost himself in thought. Since the most memorable week of his life, a year had gone by. Like he had promised, he had come to see you whenever he could.
However, about five months prior to this moment, you had started coming to him.
“Shouldn’t I get used to the kingdom I’ll one day live in with you?” you had stated during one of his visits. He couldn’t disagree with you. Not only because what you said was true, but he felt as if he could never say no to you. He’d do anything for you. Plus, he could finally show you the village he told you about.
The visit to the village happened on the second day you had first arrived. When you had first arrived, Obi-Wan gave you a tour of the expansive castle. The two of you talked as you strolled through the building all afternoon and after dinner. He didn’t stop until you were able to guide the two of you through the halls without his help. Your look of joy when you had successfully led the two of you back to where his room was warmed his heart. He was so proud of you.
Obi-Wan had introduced you to his room that was rather spacious. His desk lay in front of the window that viewed the sunset. On both sides of his desk were bookshelves that spanned that wall. His bed was in the centre of the room with white sheets with a gold trim.
On the other side of his room there was a couch in front of a fireplace. The fireplace was also adjacent to bookshelves that not only held books but a few gifts you had given him. One was a gemstone that was rare and could only be found in your kingdom. Another was a small trinket that Christian and Daisy helped you make. There were a few others except for his favourite gift.
His favourite gift from you sat on his desk. It was a pendant engraved with designs similar to the one that was on his collar from the night he first met you. In the middle was a stone the colour of the sky. On the back, in very small writing, was the quote, “Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place.” There was so much from this small gift that was just so special. All down to the part where the stone had been picked out by Daisy and Christian from the lake of Naboo.
Everytime he wrote a letter to you, he would hold it. If he had to leave the castle, he would wear it, thankful that it was attached to a chain. He wore it or held it close to him on the days he missed you most.
When you had seen it on his desk as you explored his room he watched as you smiled fondly in the light of the dying Sun as you saw the pendant. He remembered how amazing you looked as the oranges and yellows worked to highlight your features as you picked it up.
“Will you tell me the story of how you gave this to me again?” Obi-Wan asked as he stepped up beside you.
“Again? Obi, you ask me to tell it to you everytime we see each other,” you replied, amusement in your tone.
He shrugged. “But I love the way you tell it. I can never do it justice.”
So, as the two of you watched the Sun go down, you told him the way you gave it to him. It was one particular trip when you had no villages to go to and it was just the two of you. That was about a month ago on one of the trips where he insisted on going to you instead of you going to him. He felt as if the only reason you let him come to you was because it was also for Anakin and Padmé’s wedding.
After that night, he brought you to Florrum. As soon as the two of you stepped off of the carriage, Obi-Wan spotted the usual troublemaker, Hondo Onaka. A teenage boy, Adam, was not far from the chaos.
Obi-Wan made sure you stayed close as he approached the man but not before Adam came running up to him.
“Prince Kenobi! He’s doing it again,” he said as he pointed at Hondo. What was Hondo doing? Trying to sell spice once again, of course. That or trying to find some so that he could sell it.
With a sigh, he placed a hand on Adam’s shoulder. “I’ll deal with it. Would you be a good lad and accompany this lovely lady while I talk to him?”
“Yes, sir!” he said excitedly as he immediately introduced himself to you. Obi-Wan smiled before getting Hondo out of trouble before he would dig himself a grave.
That whole day he had shown you around the village and introduced you to some people who actually fully trusted him. Adam followed you around after him and Obi-Wan helped put a drunken Hondo, who had passed out, in his bed.
Ever since that day, the progress of getting the town back on its feet began to pick up. Your skills for that kind of thing were even greater than Obi-Wan had thought. Not that he doubted your abilities. He was just surprised with how quickly your tips took effect on the growth.
Since that first trip, you had come to Coruscant lots. Most visits included a trip to the village of Florrum, but some were just for the two of you.
Now, he was nervous for your upcoming visit. Not because he didn’t want to see you, but because this would be your longest visit yet. It would be the longest the two of you ever stayed together in general. You would be staying for a whole month. He was nervous that staying with him for that long of time would cause you to realize you didn’t like him anymore. It was a stupid thought but there all the same.
“Obi-Wan!” he heard a familiar voice call out.
Turning in the direction, he was met by Commander Cody. He was making his way over on his own horse.
“I thought I’d find you here,” Cody remarked as he brought his horse next to Boga.
“Yes, well, I needed some time to think.”
“You really think it’s going to go badly, huh?”
Obi-Wan looked over at his friend. Cody knew him all too well. Whether he told the man what was going on or not, he always knew. Pays for being friends for so long.
Well, he can’t keep it a secret anyways. May as well tell him. “I- I don’t know why. I love her and she loves me. Yet I keep worrying about whether or not I’ll lose that love. Even when she shows no sign of that happening.”
Cody gave him a comforting smirk. “Obi-Wan, I’ve grown quite close with her myself over this time. With that knowledge, I know that the longer she’s with you the less likely she’s going to leave. Y/N’s not the type. She’s all in, Obi-Wan. Are you?”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan replied without hesitation. “Yes. I’d give all of this up,” he gestured to the landscape, “I’d give up being a prince for her. Whatever she wanted.”
“Y/N would do the same. You want to know why I know that?” Cody asked, leaning closer towards Obi-Wan as he looked at his friend. “I know that because she told me. And I know she’s told you. I honestly don’t know why you’re still doubting yourself. You’re the one she loves, my friend. You have nothing to worry about.”
Relief filled Obi-Wan as he listened to his friend.
“I guess… I just needed to hear it from… someone else. I don’t know why I’m plagued with these thoughts. I just don’t know…”
Cody smiled and rested a hand on Obi-Wan’s shoulder. “It’s a good thing. It means you truly care. Now, she’ll be arriving soon. Shall we head back?”
With a smile and a nod from Obi-Wan, they brought their horses back into movement. Excitement was all he felt now. No more nervousness at what the next month held in store filled him to ruin the moment. Now all he looked forward to was being with you.

Dryden Vos led Varlo and Vizsla to what they called the throne room. Varlo had no clue where they even were. Sure, he wasn’t blindfolded on his way here (which he was expecting) but it wasn’t a part of any kingdom that he knew of. This was a place off of any known ruling and was past the furthest side of Mandalore.
Varlo managed to get away with saying this trip was for diplomatic purposes since Lord Merrik had joined him. He, however, stayed behind in Mandalore where they had met with Lord Vizsla.
When it came to Lord Vizsla, Varlo hadn’t needed to explain his intentions in as much detail as he did for Merrik. Clearly, he wanted to get rid of Prince Kenobi that badly. Mind you, that was the quest of all of this. It had been far too long in the making. The only reason why this had taken so long was due to the fact that Dryden Vos took some convincing.
“I suggest not to stare. He doesn’t like it,” Vizsla quietly stated.
“And why not?”
“Because Kenobi not only left scars, but he took Maul’s hand.”
A sense of satisfaction flowed through Varlo. Now that he knew of this, how could Maul refuse a reason to exact revenge? He’ll have the money, the resources, everything to get to the prince. This visit looked to be turning up.
The longer they walked down the dark hallways, the more Varlo began to feel out of place. Every person, who he assumed were guards, was wearing black or dark coloured tunics along with some pieces of armour. It was almost as if Maul had been able to create his own kingdom in the time he was exiled. How else would the polished, black gauntlets all of the guards wore exist? Varlo was expecting to see more of a ragtag group rather than this organized system.
“He’s expecting you, Prince Organa,” Vos stated as he stopped in front of two large doors. The two guards on either side moved to open them, revealing a dark, thin room with walls that seemed to be carved out from the mountain. It looked to be excruciatingly painful if you got pushed up against it with all of the jagged edges.
Vos stepped into the room, moving to stand off to the side.
Varlo looked to Vizsla who stood beside him. His expression was solid, his jaw slightly tense. Now this would be interesting.
Looking back into the room, he saw a man in the shadows. The throne he sat on, Varlo could see, was made out of wood. It looked almost as if it were used for sparring practice. So many areas of the wood were split, whether it was by a sword or of poor use, he wouldn’t know.
This was when nerves finally began to creep in. There was just something… off putting about this room. The feeling only grew when he spotted red marks on the floor around him as he took his first steps into the room. We’re those blood stains?
“Welcome, my dear Prince Varlo Organa,” the man in the throne, Maul, practically hissed. “To what do I owe the pleasure. It’s not every day when a spoiled royal visits me.”
Varlo swallowed as he listened to the threatening sounding voice. He didn’t know whether it was his tone or the fact that he sounded so… normal.
“I heard we both want a particular man dead.”
Maul huffed. “There’s a lot of men I want dead. You’ll need to be specific.”
“How did he take your hand?” Varlo boldly asked as he gestured to the same black metal replacement.
With a growl, Maul stood from his seat, now exposing himself in the light. “How do you know that?”
“Was that not common knowledge?”
Varlo watched the man in front of him. The scar that ran along his jaw made him look even more intimidating. The black metal hand was shaped into a fist and his black and red tunics rested partially open at the chest where a pendant with a strange symbol hung.
“You don’t actually know,” Maul said with a chuckle. “You don’t know the actual story behind this, do you?”
“I may not know the story, but I know who did it.”
Maul seemed to ignore Varlo’s last statement as he turned and began to mutter. At first, Varlo thought he was talking to himself, but it turns out he was talking to him.
“I was winning. I had him. I sliced his chest. He was on the ground, writhing in pain. I was young. I was cocky. I gave him too much time. He was up. My hand was gone. We fled.”
Maul turned sharply, now facing Varlo.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi gave me these scars! All of them! And then he forced me here!” Maul yelled in anger. His voice echoed off of the walls and caused Varlo to flinch ever so slightly. “He took everything from me.”
“We can change that,” Varlo said with an uneven voice. He was intimidated but courage was slowly filling him when he realized just how much this man wanted revenge. It was perfect and now he could go ahead with the plan with almost no doubt.
Maul scoffed. “What do you have against him? Hm? He’s going to marry your sister.”
“Why does everyone think that since he’s marrying my sister that I like him? I want him gone! Dead! Although he hasn’t physically wounded me, he’s taken away everything I used to have!”
Varlo froze when he realized what he had done. He wasn’t sure if the rogue would punish him for his tone or be happy about it.
A few moments went by and nothing was said. Then, Maul smiled maniacally.
“So we have something in common. Well, I would love to help if I knew how to get to him. I can’t outright attack the castle. Not again,” Maul said with a sneer. “Plus, what’s in it for me? You don’t need to tell me why you’ve come here. I know you want to get rid of Kenobi so that you don’t have the blood directly on your hands. So, what do I get other than having the satisfaction of finally killing him?”
It took a few moments for Varlo to think. He knew what he was going to offer Maul, but he didn’t know how to get Prince Kenobi’s attention.
“Florrum,” Varlo muttered. He remembered something. Something you had told him about the Prince having a passion project of sorts. A village called Florrum that you had been helping out with.
“The forgotten village? How will that help?”
“My sister said that Prince Kenobi made it his duty to bring it back off of the ground. From what my sister has told me, he’s close with those people. They have made a lot of changes. That’s how you can get his attention.”
Maul smiled as he thought about it. “Yes. Yes!” he said with a laugh. “Do you know of any that are of particular importance to him?”
Varlo thought for a moment. He really had to remember what you had said. “A kid named Adam. There’s another, but it’s not a friendship. More of a burden to him.”
With that, Maul smiled. “Alright. Now what will you give me?”
