me, reading a 3 years old TLJ review and finding new ways of hating Rian Craig Johnson
Finn choosing to not kill innocent people in his first combat mission is more powerful than Kylo Ren’s so called “struggle” to turn to the light side and ultimately coming up short.
Finn hasn’t killed a single innocent person and already knew it was not right despite all the brainwashing he has been through, whereas on the other hand Kylo Ren has taken numerous lives already and knows completely what he’s doing.
Don’t give me that drivel about so called brainwashing by Snoke/Palpatine, he’s a grown man who knew what good was and yet still chose to do bad things. He grew up with loving parents who tried to teach him right from wrong yet still chose to turn to the dark side. Finn had no upbringing, all he’s ever known was the First Order yet he still knew right from wrong. All he’s ever been taught was to fight and to hate the resistance/rebellion.
Quite frankly Kylo lost his chance to come back to the light that was essentially given to him by Han. Finn had no one there to bring him to the light because he did it himself.
Some people are just inherently good and others bad. We didn’t need that bs about Kylo Ren’s going back and forth. He knew exactly what he was doing and what it meant.
So my Mom apparently did a Star Wars marathon while I was at my Dad’s house, and all she has left is Rise of Skywalker (pls pray for her)
Legit tho, she just told me that she thought that Finn and Rose were the new Jedi alongside Rey.
You should’ve heard the utter disappointment in her voice when I told her Finn wasn’t a Jedi.
And honestly, same.
I've been a fan of Star Wars since I was a kid, and I can say I have never felt more insulted not just a Star Wars fan, but as a human with empathy, seeing what lucasfilm is doing to the character of Finn. They seemed to take some type of sick pleasure out of dragging and degrading Finn as much as possible.
His solo comic where he's screaming fear my mop, the new comic preview that shows him getting punched in the face, the entire movie where he has some sidekick lecturing him about the horrors of War and almost has him falling in shit, the director saying that he would have casted a white actor to play him, the director joking about leaving him in a coma, then the director calling the antagonist space Nazi and then in the same sentence calling HIM the co-Protagonist and deleting half of his footage from the movie, which at this point seems like a blessing almost
I feel really bad for John because you can tell he's ONE of the best actors in the sequel trilogy in the main cast outside of the older actors, right up there with Adam, if you have seen him in Imperial dreams or attack the block, or even look at his acting in the sequels, you can tell he's giving it literally all he has even though he's not getting much.
For lucasfilm claiming they care about diversity so much, they have a funny way of showing it considering from 2015 till now they have gone out of their way to either humiliate any black characters they have, make them disappear entirely, or kill them the second they're introduced.
And say what you want about JJ but at least he didn't make Rey an abuse apologist who went to the person who killed one of her father figures and maimed the only person who ever cared about her after torturing her. I have never seen such weak writing for characters before, and even though kylo is called the fan favorite and the best thing about the trilogy, I still find him an inconsistent mess who lacks any motivation as an antagonist, and just like many of the characters in this trilogy, the character is being held together by the talents of the actor
TFA has flaws, it does, regardless of my personal enjoyment of it, it is far from a perfect movie, but TLJ is just insulting on every level I can think of. TFA I can still enjoy, but TLJ is insulting in every way possible.
Blinding Lights
I've been tryna call
I've been on my own for long enough
Maybe you can show me how to love, maybe
I'm going through withdrawals
You don't even have to do too much
You can turn me on with just a touch, baby
I look around and Sin City's cold and empty
No one's around to judge me
I can't see clearly when you're gone
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch
I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night
Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I trust
I'm running out of time
'Cause I can see the sun light up the sky
So I hit the road in overdrive, baby
Oh, the city's cold and empty
No one's around to judge me
I can't see clearly when you're gone
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch
I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night
Oh, when I'm like this
You're the one I trust
I'm just walking by to let you know
I can never say it on the phone
Will never let you go this time
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep until I feel your touch

Facts:
Reylo is the worst.
John Boyega is the best and his career deserves to continue to blossom and grow.
Facts.
I can't believe that when we first saw those tlj pics of finn dressed as an undercover imperial, my naive dumbass theorized that we would learn more about finn's time as a stormtrooper and that he would play a role in exposing stormtrooper culture and incite and lead a rebellion of stormtroopers by persuading his former friends to overcome their conditioning because that would've been the logical progression of his character from someone who runs away, to someone who is willing to stand for a bigger cause and protect the people he cares about, to actually being a leader in protecting and rescuing people from the oppression he suffered
But what do I know about logical, meaningful character arcs?? It's obviously cooler to make him repeat his arc from tfa in a more boring way in an irrelevant side plot smh
good concept please read
finn except he’s loved and appreciated by lucasfilms & ALL of the fans
