It is such a red flag for me when people get so prickly or snobbish over the difference between bi and pan and even other mspec labels. Like 9/10 those types of people are deeply unpleasant and/or miserable. They also seem to have major control issues and have the vibes of wanting to be part of a queer panopticon which. Holy shit. Just let people do what they want.

Actually in typing this, I just realized these types of people have the EXACT same vibes as transmeds. Holy shit.

I always have to do a deep dive on queer etsy businesses who sell custom pride merch for "any identity" because the last thing I want is to submit my pride flag and be told its not valid.

pushing people with contradictory labels to have more "socially acceptable" labels instead of the ones they already identify with is just "queer people should be more «normal»" rhetoric that the cishets have been pushing onto us in a slightly different wrapper but nobody thinks to make that connection
