It's a long-running myth among black women that birth control causes infertility or can kill you, so more white women than black women take birth control. Christianity also has a chokehold on black people so combine a stigma around birth control with the pronatalism of Christianity and you get a shit ton of unplanned pregnancies + teen motherhood. So this leaves black women 2 main options: become a mother of 4+ kids by age 25 or get the abortion cuz your education on contraception was spotty.
