Prochoicers: We do. States with abortion bans have the worst maternal mortality rates in the country and, by and large, have chosen not to extend Medicaid coverage for postpartum care.

Prolifers: Why don't you support contraception?

Prochoicers: We do. Your representatives blocked a bill guaranteeing access to contraception.

Prolifers: Why do you ignore that we've allowed life-saving exceptions?

Prochoicers: We don't. We point out why they don't work, and we point out that the Texas AG and the Idaho GOP want to get rid of those exceptions.

Kinda weird that a lot of places won't let minors get body modifications such as a piercing or tattoo without your parents' permission, but you can have a child pretty much whenever.

In fact, a few states are starting to require parental permission for an abortion and even some contraceptives. Really weird that a child who needs their parents' permission for most things is expected to *checks notes* raise a child.

All I'm saying is that a tattoo or piercing is far less permanent than another human being. Kinda weird to be against teens having a nose ring, but then expect them to have kids of their own.

I support comprehensive sex education, free contraception, and accessible sterilization to prevent abortions the same way I support flossing and regular teeth cleaning to prevent root canals and teeth fillings. It’s better to prevent needing a medical procedure than to need one, though if you need a medical procedure you should be able to easily get it.

I just had some asshole pro-life guy come onto my blog and start mansplaining to me about how childbirth is a breeze that has absolutely no risk of physical or psychological harm attached, abortion is a sin, and rape only happens rarely.
