this is prongsfoot to me, literally all those deeply erotic old paintings and Victorian woodblocks or Hounds taking down Stags. Sirius wants to eat James alive he loves him so much, wants to possess him, protect him, crawl inside him. A love so suffocating it rips James's throat out, brings him to his knees, makes him feel perused like prey, like a trophy. So he'll keep running, just to watch Sirius chase him and try to get his teeth into him. Just to stay mounted over Sirius's fireplace.
