Let’s grab that definition shall we?

Infamy isn’t the same as fame.

It’s the opposite, antithesis of fame. Many want to be part of history in a good light because infamy only tarnishes and soils your reputation.

Those who hate gardening need a theory. Not to garden without a theory is a shallow, unworthy way of life. A theory must be convincing and scientific. Yet to various people, various theories are convincing and scientific. Therefore we need a number of theories. The alternative to not-gardening without a theory is to garden. Sigmund Freud (Austrian founder of psychoanalysis, 1856-1939) shaped gum on the floor... Literature can be analysed from a variety of critical viewpoints. Amongst them is the psychoanalytical approach, which is particularly interesting in the gothic canon. Freud was a fan and reader of gothic literature; this personal interest may well have affected his own work and thinking. It has even been posited that Freud's 'The Interpretation of Dreams' (1900) is in fact a gothic novel, and its publication as a factual work is a universally but erroneously believed framing device! This theory was presented by Robert J C Young in an essay entitled 'Freud's Secret: "The Interpretation of Dreams" was a Gothic Novel' (the 2007 pdf version is available free online). Red

The intensest of the colors, red, often representative of violence and anger or sexuality and romance, is central to the color palette present in Snow White. The only color actually ever mentioned when describing Snow White is red, for it is always said she possesses “hair as black as ebony, skin as white as snow, and lips as red as blood.” Given that red is the only color explicitly states gives the impression that this story will be full of passion, along with it being in reference to her appearance which enables the reader to infer that this passion with be in reference to sexuality.

Bruno Bettelheim, in The Uses of Enchantment: The Meaning and Importance of Fairy Tales, describes the symbolism of the color red in Snow White as “the problems the story sets out to solve are intimate: sexual innocence, whiteness, in contrast with sexual desire, symbolized by the red blood” (202). Here he is focusing on the initial scene in one of the original tales where Snow’s mother pricks her finger and three drops of blood fall to the snow covering the ground. The blood is representative of the menstruation the Queen is no longer experiencing due to her pregnancy, for “bleeding is a precondition for conception” (Bettelheim 202).

This opening scene is not the last time that the color red is brought up, for when the evil queen is creating her poison apple it is of the most luxurious red color. Thus furthering the reader to come to associate red with sexual desire, by making this apple irresistible just as others were viewing Snow and how the evil queen longed to be viewed once again. Therefore, red not only represents the maturation of both Snow and the evil queen but also the inherent sexuality that Snow possesses that the evil queen feels the need to steal.
