neo twewy DS edition: Kanon, Motoi and Fuya I plan on making sprites like these for all characters from neo twewy.
I went back to the unspoken hero of this game, Sumio, and tried his sidequest with Motoi, choosing the “quote” option. Have to wonder how Motoi felt, getting a taste of his own medicine. And remember, the context is Motoi suggesting something of a co-operative effort with the other teams (two days before he planned to sell his own team out and jump ship, the scumbag) in the group chat. The relevance of that quote to that context must be as lost on Motoi as it is on me. Unlike when I last chose something, Motoi doesn’t respond immediately, implying he’s still scratching his head at it.
It’s also an interesting choice because it’s Rindo at his most regressive. He’ll later go on to say that he used to just parrot An0ther quotes without thinking but that he’s grown to really consider things in a way that he didn’t used to thanks to his experiences. He’s also not long off finding out that his idol and the source of these quotes is a fraud, but here he is imitating him and considering his only issue here to be the lack of An0ther quotes that he can remember. This choice shows Rindo at his weakest point, character development-wise.
I have to wonder if Rindo ever does go on to review An0ther quotes after everything. He’ll have a lot to rethink once the Reaper’s game is done, no doubt.
And of course, outside of everything else, this choice gives us Nagi and Beat being incredibly savage in their own respective ways. “Truly devastating words coming from one such as yourself” - Nagi’s out her to murder everyone!
NEO: The World Ends With You
Team logos
Here's a question:
What if the three teams we saw in the Neo:twewy trailer
Are actually guild teams that our team can join/befriend and effect the game in someway, as in what pins we could get, what trends work better, and maybe change the outcome of the story?
and here ya go! i finally finished it (R.I.P my eyes and my neck)
Replies to my post: “This isn't really meant for public, but do you think this...”
I luckily never personally interacted with them, but I have seen some of their cringe-inducing behavior before. I’ll trust your instincts.
Yes, I have a HUGE issue with that, too. It’s one thing to make a mistake because you’re new, but this person isn’t “new”, they’re posing.
100% agree. The timing, the weird fact that they don’t follow any cleriths (probably until AFTER I called them out) is proof enough. It’s truly pathetic that these clowns have to sink to such depths just to “prove” clerith fans are “bad, too”. I can say one thing though, this really makes me sort of happy. It shows me that the clerith fandom is that well behaved and that’s pretty impressive.
GOOD JOB LADIES AND GENTS!
I was honestly about to pass by this moment, but then I got to thinking about how that must really feel from Beat’s perspective. We saw him earlier in this day wrestling with the fact that something bad happened to Neku a while back after everything they’d been through together and while Beat’s been looking out for him ever since, he hasn’t been able to find him. 3 years of that guilt and loss until he finally makes it into the UG, somewhat unintentionally, accidentally misleading everyone to think that he’s Neku. Having to hear the name of someone you miss and feel like you failed in the only place you thought was left to find him must bring back bad memories and draw more attention to the fact that Neku isn’t here, that he hasn’t been for some time.
No wonder Beat’s furious. Man, everything about his story always gets me so sad.
I’ll be able to get back to the liveblog either later today or tomorrow, but in the meantime, I was thinking about Motoi’s reveal and then this moment from before with one of his goons hit me:
I doubt Rindo really believed for a moment that Motoi was fine with one of his guys messing with people in the RG, I honestly didn’t at the time, but knowing more of what Motoi is like now... this moment hits a bit different.
I mean, Motoi is a survivalist from what we’ve seen and that carries with it a certain kind of malice that we’re exposed to right now. Having said that, I don’t mean to demonise him and lump him into the same box as every other form of malice and cruelty. It’s not impossible that Motoi is guilty of other wrongdoing - if anything, it’s quite likely - but we just don’t know because the one version of Motoi that we thought we knew was false.
All that is to say that for all we know, maybe Motoi wouldn’t be okay with this, for all of his faults. But maybe he would. He may not fully endorse it, but he would only have to be content with letting something like that happen. And it kind of looks like he would.
The way this Pureheart shoots down the idea that bringing up Motoi’s name would scare him out of doing something so nasty implies either that he doesn’t respect Motoi’s authority or influence (which was my and Rindo’s natural initial assumption when we believed Motoi to be a good guy who wouldn’t stand for this) or that he does respect him, but Motoi just wouldn’t care and the idea of invoking his name to try and change this guy’s behaviour here is laughable.
Right now, I don’t know for sure if it’s the former or the latter, but if it is the latter and this exchange is alluding to Motoi’s true nature, then dang. That’s pretty good setup.
