i genuinely do feel SO fuckin bad for the supernatural team. they tried so hard you guys. by the final season they were moving like that Will Smith gesturing at stuff image. they did literally everything they could to tell us that destiel was the story they were telling but because Dean ended up getting edited to just kind of stand there during the confession then immediately die by bury your gays rebar, and Cas never got mentioned again due to covid and network interference, literally ALL their hard work was for nothing. Culturally people just remember it as queerbait. Equivalent of a team going to the superbowl after 12 years and then all its players getting food poisoning and dying.

in the good spn that lives in my head Dean started wearing a bobby-pin hidden in his hair when he had it long at 22 and then continued to try and hide it in the longer section of his hair when John made him cut it short again. Dean uses it regularly to get out of cuffs but it only comes up in like S9 when Sam is like “why do you have a bobby-pin in your hair???” And Dean is like “your hair looks like THAT and you still don’t manage to carry anything useful in it???????”

This is ofc used as queer coding and Dean makes jokes about it being gay to wear bobby pins but ok when he does it cause it’s smart (it is in fact gay when he does it but it’s because he’s gay anyway)

And another thing, as an addendum to this post, and this post: Even if everyone involved in writing and producing Supernatural formed a chorus line and sang a rousing rendition of It's All in Your Head (You Crazy Queers), Supernatural, the actual text that exists in the world, the GOOD SUPERNATURAL that actually lives in the actual world, would still be queer as hell without their permission.

i know not everyone on here is a queer sam truther but i just LIVE for dean and sam spiderman meme coming out headcanons. they both think they're in the closet because their brother is homophobic and when they finally come out to each other it's like you can't be gay i'm gay! no you're not gay i'm the one who's gay! but you're homophobic you can't be gay! i'm homophobic?? you're homophobic! etc etc etc for like an hour until they have to realise that they are both gay and homophobic and stupid
