Who wants a piece of him? 📻❤️
Why were all of Alastor's Pilot era relationships ruined?
CW: Anti RA (If you like RA scroll), Mentions of what Vox put Alastor through, Mentions of Rosie's owning Alastor.
Alastor: We could create a diversion! Send Husker in dressed as a hooker!
Husk: Why me?!! You go, you son of a bitch!
Alastor, solemnly patting him on the shoulder: I lack the appeal, my dear
Niffty: You could be an ugly hooker, sir!
Alastor: I always appreciate your faith in me, Niffty darling, always!
I think it's funny to see a woman from 1950 get along with man from 1930 and the other one from 1970 just go alongside. Chronologically, Alastor is the oldest and Niffty is still the youngest. In a family dynamic, the second child always do whatever they want because nobody cares about them, lol.
I drew this as RadioMaid but the more I see them, the more sibling-like they are.
Anyone else feel like Baxter and Alastor would actually get along together very, very, well?
And no, it's not just because Niffty gets along with Baxter, and Alastor displays the most geninue care and fondness for Niffty out of everyone, which therefore making his association with Baxter positive.
But also the fact that Baxter is a scientist who constantly seeks to understand and learn new things about life, things, and people, even if he doesn't understand them or already thinks ill of any of the sort, which means he'd probably be the only person to actually try and understand Alastor.
And to really understand why this is important, let's consider that Baxter's history with Vox almost certainly goes back as far as when Vox and Alastor were still on good terms. Hell, Baxter died in the 1910s TWO decades before Alastor, he would've been there to witness the horror Alastor caused overnight.
Baxter very likely has a strong negative bias in play against Alastor because he would've been already owned by Vox when the split happened and have been around for the past 70 years of them playing their cat and mouse game.
it's worth noting that it is OBVIOUS Baxter's and Pentious' backstory is a direct parrell to Vox and Alastor's history, too, this also likely would've been a factor in Baxter's negative bias towards Alastor when Vox and Alastor did fall out.
But, again, as we've seen, Baxter's whole thing as a scientist is to literally gain knowledge and try to understand things he doesnt understand regardless of any pre-concieved bias. Meaning that despite that he is clearly very ridgid in how he approaches things, he is actively and VERY open to giving people and ideas a 2nd chance in his never ending hunger to understand everything and everyone around him. He is willing to be proven wrong just so he and understand something and someone better.
Baxter straight up says he thought the Hotel was impossible, but he was also VERY interested in it, and his first impressions were not exactly good, as pretty much everyone who ran the Hotel made him uncomfortable.
Hell, you can tell that NIFFTY used to make him uncomfortable, only for them to get along extremely well later on.
And he went on to stay for the entirety of S2 until the bitter end, he was the last new guest standing, and even fully defected to the Hotel, risking not only his job, but his life for the people he grew attached to and felt geninuely loved by. Plus, he clearly just had a lot of fun.
And regardless if he was a spy or not, he clearly went on to enjoy his stay, and became fond of the other members, especially Niffty, and even Husk, too. Both of whom have assiosations with Alastor.
So back to the point, all of this means that Baxter would probably legitimately be the only person in the Hotel who didn't already know Alastor personally, and already had a negative view of him, to bother attempt to try and gain a deeper understanding of Alastor and how he thinks, processes, and views the world. Regardless, of what Baxter's pre-concieved opinions and notions of him are.
If Baxter ever were to run a sort of "science experiment," in an effort to gain a better understanding of Alastor, I truly feel like that would be something Alastor would MASSIVELY respect and appreciate about him. Just because he made an actual effort to understand him, even if he doesn't understand, nor will be able to understand no matter how hard he tries, and despite all of the negative opinions Baxter would have had of him alrewdy.
Especially when we consider how tossed aside the Hotel has sorta treated Alastor, and how most people throughout his life and afterlife view Alastor as "subhuman" in some way or the other. Either through his race, or seeing him more of a "horrifying mythical god-like presence,". The former is NOT his fault, the latter what he sold his soul for.
I'm absolutely sure that Baxter trying to understand him beyond that, to see him as "human," in a way hardly anyone has his entire life and afterlife, would mean A LOT to Alastor.
I do have a lot of issues with how tossed aside Baxter was this season, but granted I can acknowledge that a lot of my disappointment comes from falsely assuming Baxter would have a much larger role then he actually did, but he does have a lot of potential and I really like his dyamanic with Niffty. We never saw Baxter and Alastor interact (unless I'm forgetting something) and I feel like there's so much potential for their dyamanic!
What would their pairing be called. Like I don't ship them obviously but what should we call their pairing name?
Madradio? Maddeer? 😭
A very real conversation between @neatandniffty and myself xD Based on this interaction right here:
(I must have laughed at my own joke for an hour.)
