Happy Pride!
Rainbow Crow.
I enjoyed the inspired tale from a Lenape Story teller that was rewritten to a short story.
I know its not a traditional tale but it is still a nice tale that is similar to the First Fire by the Cherokee.
If you like a story about selflessness and heroic sacrifice Rainbow Crow is a good tale to read or listen to.
Day 13 Pride month: Two-spirit
Bright Feather the rainbow crow is having a bbq party at his homeland and invited his friends and family to enjoy the summer season along having a good time together as a couple and enjoying the summer season by being a big community of togetherness’s.

"I will go. I will stop the snow,
Aiya, aiya, aiya, aiya, Rain, Rainbow Crow, Stop the snow, Crow, Fly to the sky high, Rain, Rainbow Crow, Aiya, aiya, aiya, aiya."

Eight of Wands. Art by Yoshi Yoshitani, from the Tarot of the Divine.
Rainbow Crow North America, Lenape Legend (Disputed)
The Eight of Wands represents quick, decisive actions. The rainbow crow flies quickly to deliver warmth to the cold earth below, singeing his wings in the process. His sacrifice and swift journey are fruitful.
Upright: Speed, momentum, travel, excitement, results Reversed: Lethargy, delays, bad timing, slowness, frustration
From the artist:
“While currently attributed as a story from the Lenape people, there evidence to believe this is actually an altered Cherokee story, or part of another people’s lore all together. Still, a number of peoples from the middle of North America have a similar story: Once the winter got colder and colder, and humans and animals began to suffer. Finally, an animal (or multiple animals) volunteered to get/steal/beg for fire from gods/fire demons/etc. The act of bringing the fire back irrevocably changed the animal in color/voice/texture, but we have them to thank for saving us.” — Yoshi Yoshitani
Shriektober Day 20! Today’s Theme: Alight
While getting ideas for this drawing, I looked up the meaning of Alight and surprisingly there’s a few. Alight as a verb can mean, “(of a bird) descend from the air and settle.“ While as an adjective it means, “on fire; burning” and “shining brightly.” I decided to draw a bird landing to be a bit different than what you would usually think of. But then, I remembered the story of the Rainbow Crow, which is a Lenape legend. (Overly Sarcastic Productions covers it in one of their videos, you should check out if you’re interested in the legend.)
The Rainbow Crow is a fantastic animal in Lenape legend. It symbolises selflessness and service.
The legend goes that after a particularly harsh winter, the animals decided they must send a messenger to the Great Spirit to ask for help. The Rainbow Crow offered to make the long and arduous journey, and was rewarded with the gift of fire. However, by the time he returned, the fire had scorched his beautiful plumage black.

These are just rough sketches for now. I plan on doing final digital version with more tweaks to their designs. Maybe do a poster reminiscent of the RWBY poster with their initials.
But I’d like to know your thoughts on them any tweaks you think might better suit them.
(The weapons are not to scale)
