I'm still kinda on the fence about things, but I think the main decider for me right now is if caiti changes her story to match ghostie's. If she does that, I think it would basically take a lot of her credibility of not being influenced by her friends. I really hope in her last statement on this she sticks to mostly her second statement because if she does that she's kinda done. I've seen no commentary channels take her side and all her support is basically just mcyt.
This sucks for George since that's most of his friends, but I honestly think it'll show people who real friends are and people who are willing to throw friendships away to save face. Not saying that Dream Team haven't done shitty things, but the fact that most of their friends just threw them out at the sign of danger kinda shows me a lot. The women around them don't owe them anything, but I do think a lot of it might just be the first knee-jerk reaction to hearing about your friend doing a bad thing. Punz is just an idiot though. There's so many ways he could have dealt with his dislike for Dream, but he did give us the laugh we needed sooooo I'll take it as a blessing in disguise.
Sorry about the rant in your ask box. I just wanted to get some of the thoughts out of my head. Hope you're doing all good, and this situation will hopefully be over after Caiti and George's last statements.
first of all, i hope you are doing alright and taking care of yourself. and i may sound like a broken record, but be kind to yourself and others.
from what i understand her final statement will be more general, less focused on the current situation, although i could have misunderstood that. i do hope with her final and georges final statement, things settle and i'm hopeful that will happen. and i geniunly hope that caiti and george talk privatly about everything and find common ground and a place where one can heal and the other can grow and both are free from being harassed online.
her friends are geniunly just bad friends and i don't even know what else to say aside from that. even those that weren't present that day, somehow throw around a time frame and aspects of the story that neither caiti, nor george ever mentioned. and i feel so bad for caiti.
not to sound old in fandom terms, but i've been here since some time 2020, i know how exhausting and tiring these constant claims about ccs is and how it makes you second guess yourself and your support of someone, so i can only imagine what pressure that is, when you are actually in that hotseat and your friends are the people on an online trial. i understand disappointment and frustration, but i suggest giving them time and grace. and maybe with a little bit of communication things can be settled.
punz on the other hand.. so many questions for him: "Why?" "Did you really think this was a good idea?" "arms length, you mean the guest house???"
