From Chapter 1:
The camera cuts to Alec, who smiles a little in his interview. “Yeah, I’m excited to see her tomorrow.” It holds on him for a moment and then switches to Lydia going back into the women’s side. She pauses at the door, straightens her suit jacket, and opens it to see Isabelle almost directly on the other side.
Lydia smiles. “I’m engaged!”
The rest of the girls flock to her and hug her - probably more than she was expecting - but Isabelle just walks away.
The camera cuts to Alec entering the men’s side and then swings to follow what his gaze immediately locks on - Magnus, across the room, sitting stock still and looking calmly back at him.
“I’m engaged,” he says. It doesn't look like he looks away from Magnus until Jace barreling into him forces them to break eye contact.
The next time the camera circles around the room, Magnus is gone.
The camera cuts to Isabelle’s interview. “It’s not that I don’t approve of Lydia. I just know my brother, and I know that this isn’t what’s best for him. This isn’t what he wants, not really.” She takes a breath. “And I think he knows it, too, and is just doing it because of his fucked-up sense of familial duty.”
The camera cuts to Lydia and Alec both waiting in their nice clothes in new rooms. Alec checks the ring, tucks it into his jacket pocket, and Lydia smooths her already-smooth hair down. Eventually, they both settle at parade rest in front of half-circle double doors.
The camera fades to black.
