Lionfish! When the gene first game out, I thought it was very busy and would be hard to use. I’ve found it definitely works more than I expected! The stripes can still be a bit much depending, but sometimes having a busy gene is very fun! And it can provide SUCH interesting color opportunities too, though I find it doesn’t work as easily as Noxtide unfortunately, but it can be very striking when the colors line up right! The way it colors the dragons underbelly under the stripe pattern is a lot of fun, but yeah VERY situational.

Again, almost went with my black-and-red obsidian kids haha but I thought showing off Crocodile would be more fun! I love Raqkwin’s lionfish! She really shows off how the gene can make new and interesting color schemes! Crocodile is a great color on its own, but it pairs with the deep reds super well. I love her stripes!

yesterday i caved and bought two new plague swamp bog girls!! Raqkwin is still a baby but i cannot wait to dress her haha...and Grange has got a tasty catch!
