In 2004 I was introduced to the Sharp Edge restaurants in Pittsburgh and the glory of Belgian Beer. As I started going regularly I found that I could not keep track of which ones I liked and which ones I did not. In search of a solution I found Ratebeer.com. it transformed my life. The hunt for new rateable beers became my passion. My beer adventures my hobby. And now ratebeer is closing up. On 2/15/04 I rated my first beer - Liefmans Goudenband- an excellent one. I remember thinking back then that I wanted my first one to be something fantastic. Tonight I rated my final beer. A marvelous one I gave a 4.9 out of 5 to. Feeling melancholy and introspective.
