Don't call me funny or smart. Call me the love of your life so I can be complete.
Heyy! Guess who made more poetry? Me!
In my own opinion, I love everything I wrote. Now, does that mean you are also going to love it? Well I don't know, so I think it's easier for both of us if you just read it!
Thank you for your time,
Ladies, Gentlemen, Theys, and Thems!

6. My Dearest Friend
...
My Dearest Friend,
we're companionized.
No weaponised friendship,
nothing disgustingly disguised as
"platonic".
No, I'm almost certain it's true.
I'm dedicated to that fact.
I'm dedicated to my fellowship with
you.
And the cause I'm promoting
is my lifelong cause.
My cause to stand beside you,
because you are My Dearest Friend.
Whom I've known for a little while
(in the grand scheme of it all),
but forever in my own degenerate life.
No I couldn't hate you.
Ray, we share half a name.
And I'll aways know neither of us are completely sane.
Yes, there's a complexity to admire here.
Really, I know it isn't all sunshine and rainbows,
I know that as a fact.
Couldn't have a friendship without arguments and all that.
Have you considered, however, that we still get along?
Always have known that choosing you wasn't wrong.
Really do you think I'd let you go?
Dare I say it, but I know you know the answer.
So let's just keep going how we are.
How I see it,
you'll be My Dearest Friend forever.

4. Adolescence
-
I'm takin' my meds and I'm screamin'.
Cryin' like a lil' kid.
I'm hopin' ya get this, my dearest,
I think that ya probably will.
I'm so grown now.
Older by the day.
I've been told now,
my adolescence, it's
getting away...
Sure I'm older, not wiser.
But maybe, I'll know.
Do ya know me?
Do ya care to?
It'd make me, feel less alone...
Oh my adolescence, it's gone.

Hi to anyone! This is all very much new to me but this comes as my second collection of poems following "Slowing Down". This one is so much longer because I've been working on it since before my first collection.
Exit Wounds was meant to be the first but it's come second and maybe it means something and maybe it doesn't. Some of my favourite poems are here and it was really synonymous with a time in my life where I wasn't sure where to go even though I knew I was going forwards.
I love my poetry and Exit Wounds, while I'm glad you're over, I'll never regret you.
