Hi!! I love your work. Could I please get High honor Arthur Morgan headcanons in contrast to the low honor headcanons 👀
High Honor Arthur Morgan Headcanons
Is reminded of Eliza and his son sometimes and gets the urge to bash his skull in, he gets so upset but forces himself to hide it.
He misses Mary but he's just glad she's not roped into his life as an outlaw.
He likes floral smells. Sometimes he literally stops to smell flowers. He's got a bit of shit from the other gang members for this but he's not embarrassed by it.
He loves to watch the sunset. He never goes to sleep without watching the sunset. He looks straight into the sun and burns his eyes but doesn't regret it, he finds the sun to be so beautiful.
Animals like him and dogs and cats naturally gravitate towards him and follow him around.
Constantly gets songs stuck in his head and the only thing that helps is to hum or sing the whole song.
Smells like pine, smoke, and sweat. He tries to keep as clean as possible.
He's not dumb, he just lives under a rock. He's confused by things like racism, sexism, politics, and small social norms.
Says he won't do something but you can bribe him to do nearly anything with a twenty-dollar bill. Also can't say no to a dare.
Nsfw (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝)
Nice and slow. Real slow. Real gentle. At least at first.
He loves kissing you all over your body, no mole or scar or mark is safe from his soft lips worshipping your body.
He's got a huge cock and he has to be careful not to hurt you. He pets your hair and whispers sweet words into your ear, kissing you and telling you it's okay, telling you how good you feel wrapped around him.
He's so good at giving head. If you have a pussy, he's gonna suck and lick your clit for hours, fingering you while he does it. He groans as he does it, completely drunk on the taste of you. Sloppy and messy and practically making out with your cunt. If you have a cock, he can take it real deep in his mouth. He's not too experienced with giving blowjobs but he gives it his all. Spit runs down his chin and he doesn't bother to wipe it away. His eyelids flutter as he feels your dick slide into his throat.
Could probably cum while giving you head. He sits up, looking sheepish, and there's a huge wet spot on his pants right next to the huge outline of his cock.
He makes love rather than fucks. He holds you close and kisses your lips as his cock fills you over and over.
He can be rough if you want it. He's staring at you the whole time, groans and small whimpers falling from his lips. He stops immediately if he thinks he's hurt you. He never gets carried away unless you've made it clear to him that that's what you want.
He always makes sure you cum first, he'll even try to make you cum multiple times. He praises you and touches you so gently as he begs you to cum again. "Good girl/boy, it's okay, c'mon, do it again, cum on my cock."
He loves to cum inside you or on your belly. It turns him on to know his cum is inside you, he loves to pull out and watch the cum slowly dribble out of you. He cums a lot, his balls are always so heavy and full and he just needs someone to help him empty them.
He holds you afterwards. He loves to cuddle after sex. He's so heavy and strong.
Helloooo I have a Halloween request for Arthur Fleck x female reader
I was thinking it could take place on Halloween while he's working for Ha Has, so he's walking home in his clown costume not realizing it's Halloween until he's passing a house/apartment party and gets invited inside by someone assuming he's their friend who also dressed as a clown. Maybe he goes along with it because he's never been to a party he wasn't performing at, but doesn't know how to act. Maybe the host pulls him to introduce to the reader and he has to come clean that he's not the guy everyone thinks he is. And she's just really sweet relieved because she didn't like the guy she thought he was, and tells him how she's never dated so people keep trying to set her up.
So they bond at the party and meet up for coffee or something later. Bonus points if they lose their virginity to each other and fall in love.
Sorry if that's too long or not specific enough. I just like a sweet, supportive, Disney princess type girl that brings out the best in Arthur and vice versa 💞

Those downtrodden streets with their faded yellow lights that made everything seem grey and bleak were familiar to Arthur. As he walked his usual route home, hands buried deep inside of his pockets, clown shoes kicking dirt and thrown-away wrappers and cans. He stared at the potholed pavement. There seemed to be more of a buzz around him, more noises. But he gave it no thought.
His Carnival costume hung loosely around him, his body too thin and too slender. He hadn’t had a good meal for the past God-knows how many weeks, and the lack of food was starting to have its effect on him. Arthur had grown easily tired and vexed and felt as if his hunger had left him completely. And so he kept his eyes pointed at the street, careful where to place his feet in case he might trip over the too-big shoes he had been too tired to swap for his ordinary pair. He would do it at home, he figured. He’d wash off the makeup there.
Being completely focused on the ground in front of his feet, he didn’t notice how he approached a house with an open door. A few young people stood on the porch, observing him as he neared. He felt their gazes, however, and made himself smaller than he was. His shoulders up high, hands even deeper inside his pockets and turned into fists – invisibly to their eyes. He tried not to draw too much attention to himself, eager to pass by without being picked on, laughed at, or even worse – beaten. He knew he was an easy target like this. And though the people he passed usually didn’t care, sometimes they would.
“Ah, there you are.” Before he had time to react, a gentle hand laid firmly upon his arm and he was ushered between the youngsters, pushed passed them, and into the house. It all happened so swiftly, that he had no idea how to react.
Soft hands pushed the small of his back, urging him into a hallway where they paused. Low thumps of music came from down the hall. There definitely was a party going on here. He tried to turn around and protest, but everything was happening way too fast.
“Josh, you can find Emma in the kitchen. She’s busy prepping the punch,” Arthur heard a female voice say from behind. It was a pleasant voice. One that sent sparks of warmth down his tummy.
He slowly turned around to face you, prepared for anything but you. A princess in every sense of the word. From your voice to your looks. You were even dressed in one of the prettiest dresses he had ever seen. Surely, if you were to come to work for Ha-Ha’s you’d be paid maximum wages. You’d have a booking every day. You-
You must be mistaken, he realized crestfallen as he watched you breathlessly. His shoulders slumped, his green eyes upon you. You didn’t want him here. You expected someone else. Some kind of Josh. What should he do? What should he do next?
There was a warm smile on your face. “Come on, let’s get going. I know you came just to see her, and I promise, no one is going to come in between the two of you tonight. This house got more than enough rooms for a bit of privacy.” You smiled at him and, once again, placed your warm hands upon him, pushing against his belly, probably to usher him in the direction of the kitchen. Then your eyes turned wide. Had you spotted he wasn’t Josh?
“Oh, gosh,” you gasped. “You really need to get some food in you. There’s some great apple and cinnamon pumpkin-shaped pies.”
So you hadn’t realized your mix-up, he thought. He followed your gaze as your eyes slid down his form. What must you be thinking of him, he wondered? This shabby clown, tired after a long day’s work. Your eyes darted lower and he followed your gaze. “Your shoes are so big. How can you walk without tripping?” The words spilled from your lips, melodious to his ears. Then your eyes sought his again. But instead of the judgment he had expected, your eyes sparked with joy and admiration. “They are amazing,” you said, warming his heart once more.
He blinked at you, confused. “I- I don’t think,” he started, voice too soft and being drowned out by the loud music that came down the hall. The realization came that you hadn’t heard him when you gave him a gentle pat on his shoulder and smiled.
“I know. Size matters! Well, you have an impressive girth,” you joked.
And then you were gone. The crowd had swallowed you, like a phantom. A ghost.
Arthur stood baffled. Had that just happened? As if in a dream, he glanced around him. The hallway was getting crowded as more people seemed to arrive at the party. He looked desperately but found no clue of you ever having been there. Had he entered the house himself? Had you been another delusion?
He leaned against a wall, his heart thumping loudly in his chest. Taking deep breaths, he tried to steady himself. Another delusion, he thought. Another dream vision.
But then, an unfamiliar girl came to stand next to him, dressed as a pirate in a very revealing short array. Her red bouncy curls danced around her when she reached up to pull him into a hug.
“Ah Josh, glad you could make it,” the girl said with a smile. Arthur could see how the lipstick on her lips cracked at the motion. “Come on over, there’s food and drinks waiting.”
Luckily, she let go when Arthur started to feel the hug was getting too suffocating, and then she gestured ahead, urging him to walk into the next room which appeared to be some kind of large hall, decorated as a ballroom. He felt the girl’s eyes upon him for a little longer, but when he glanced behind him she seemed to have turned away. He saw her at the far end of the hall. Not a vision then. But not the woman he had dreamed of either.
Carefully, Arthur, still dressed as Carnival the Clown, entered the festive hall. The chandeliers were adorned with bats and cobwebs. Tiny fake ghosts hung from the ceiling and pumpkins filled the corners, all with faces like clowns. He could not help but chuckle when he saw what a wonderful room he had walked into. Everywhere, people were dancing.
Had he held any hesitation, it vanished when he saw the pumpkin pies the princess of his dreams had told him about. They stood on a table in front of him, looking every bit as delicious as you had told. For once, he thought to himself, you deserve this. “Well,” he nasally said to himself. “I suppose one bite won’t do any harm. After all,” here he suppressed the upwelling laughter that threatened to leave his lips. “They invited me in.”
2.
The Halloween party was in full swing, the room bathed in a dim orange glow from the flickering jack-o'-lanterns lining the walls. Laughter and chatter filled the air as costumed guests mingled and danced. You expertly wove through the crowd, your body swaying to the haunting beats of the music. You were no stranger to dancing; it was an outlet that allowed you to escape the challenges of your life.
As you moved across the floor, a man dressed as a clown caught your eye. The colorful frills of his costume juxtaposed against the dark atmosphere of the party. You’d seen him before. At the time you had believed him to be Josh, that friend that Emma had invited because she wanted to date him. You knew better now. The real Josh had appeared half an hour later. It made you realize you’d invited a stranger into the house.
But this stranger, this man dressed as a clown… he was fetching. There was something about him that lured you in. Now that you knew he wasn’t Emma’s to claim, you became bolder, more daring. Moving closer to him, you deliberately started moving along with him, feeling the beat of the song resonate within you. When he noticed you, his eyes lit up like fireworks, surprise and delight radiating from his gaze.
The clown began to challenge you with his moves, his hips gyrating to the rhythm of the music. He had good moves, you noticed. Every gesture was graceful, like dancing came as natural to him as breathing. The rotating of his hips, while his eyes rested firmly upon you, was an invitation you accepted without hesitation. You danced closer, enticed by the mystery behind the painted face. His movements were fluid and surprisingly graceful, drawing you in even more.
As the song continued, you found yourselves dancing together, his arm snaking around your waist as he twirled you effortlessly. Your bodies pressed close, the heat emanating from him warming you as his scent – a mix of cologne and something uniquely his – intoxicated you. A sense of desire bubbled within you, fueled by the passion of the dance and the enigmatic connection between you two.
He twirled you around again and then pulled you in close, until your back was pressed against his front. You could feel his hot breath tickle your ear. His fingers splayed on your tummy, holding you like a lover’s embrace as you sensually pressed your hips against his. Your bodies fit together perfectly, like pieces of a puzzle, and you had to suppress a moan.
The sensation of your bodies colliding with each beat was overwhelming. The dance became a sensual exploration, your bodies speaking a language only the two of you understood. And when the song came to an end, you lamented the fact that Emma stood several feet away, beckoning you to help her bringing the snacks from the kitchen. You reluctantly pulled away, feeling the sudden absence of his warmth. "Sorry,” you whispered, unsure if he could hear you over the starting tunes of a new beat, “I need to go help a friend.”
You felt your heart pounding in your chest as you saw the Clown’s lips twitch into a smile. You assumed he had heard you, and quickly turned away, unaware of how the clown doubled over as he watched you go, grabbing his stomach as he tried to bite back the laughter that threatened to spill from his lips. He failed though, and in an attempt to escape the judging gazes from those around him, he turned around and pushed his way through the crowd.
By the time you returned with the snacks, your eyes wandered to find your mysterious dancing clown, but found no trace of him. Crestfallen, you put the snacks down on the table and scanned the room once more. Your clown seemed to have gone. But the tingling sensation deep inside of you still lingered, reminding you of the dance you had just shared.
3.
Time slipped away, the evening deepening as laughter and chatter filled the air. You found yourself wandering outside to get some fresh air. The cool night breeze was a welcome respite from the heat of the party. You’d almost given up on finding him, almost convinced yourself that it didn’t matter, that this stranger you had met was someone you would never see again. But then, there he was.
Sitting on the porch and smoking, was the clown who had captivated you earlier. The sight of him stirred something within you – curiosity, desire, and an undeniable connection that you couldn't shake. You watched him for a moment, silently admiring his enchanting silhouette. Then you stepped closer to him.
"Hey," you called out softly, drawing his attention. “Are you alone?”
His eyes widened in surprise, the cigarette between his fingers momentarily forgotten. As he looked up at you, you caught sight of his vibrantly green eyes and your heart skipped a beat. So beautiful, you thought. You felt your cheeks flush.
"You're a really good dancer," you quickly said, smiling warmly at him.
The man seemed to hesitate, staring at you like a deer caught in headlights, but he quickly recomposed himself. His shoulders relaxed again. "Oh, uh, thank you." He seemed almost embarrassed by the compliment, his cheeks flushing beneath the white face paint.
"Mind if I sit with you?" you asked, gesturing to the empty spot beside him before bunching up your skirt. If you showed him a little leg, well, that wasn’t entirely an accident. You could tell he had seen it, that he must have spotted your bare legs underneath your skirts, perhaps even the outline of your panties, for his cheeks flushed and he quickly glanced away. But you’d seen his pupils dilate.
"Of course not," he replied, snuffing out the cigarette. For a moment he stared ahead while you settled down onto the wooden steps. The warmth of his body radiated through the thin fabric of your costume, sending shivers down your spine.
“I thought I'd dreamed you up." His words caught you by surprise and you stared at him with eyes open wide. When he finally turned to lock gazes with you, his lips carried a shy smile. Almost as if he was afraid to admit it.
“Not a dream,” you assured him. "Definitely real."
For a moment, his smile broadened, an imitation of your own, and you were lost in his eyes. Their depths, their vibrancy… This man made you feel warm and alive.
But then his smile faded like snow in the sun, and he tore his eyes away from yours. Shyly, he looked down at his hands. A deep frown appeared on his face, twisting his features. "I'm sorry,” he said, voice hardly more than a low mumble. “I’d better go.”
He shifted, jumping up to his feet without a warning, but you grasped him by the sleeve, preventing him from stepping away. He turned to look at you, surprise visible on his face.
“Why would you leave now?” you asked, confused by his sudden change in demeanor. Didn’t he feel the same? You could swear he did. You’d seen it in his eyes, how the two of you had been lost in each other’s gaze.
The clown hesitated. You could see the thoughts running wildly inside his head, the deep frown when he licked his lips before he shyly admitted, “Because I am not who you want?”
“Nobody said that,” you smiled, the grasp on his sleeve diminishing until your hand just laid gently upon his arm. There was no pressure there. If he still wanted to leave, he could.
“But I,” his voice had turned nasal, like a whine. Whatever was going through that pretty head of his was making him worried. “I know you mistook me for a friend of yours," he finally admitted, a frown still on his features.
You shook your head and smiled, your hand slipping from his arm for a moment. But he did not run away. Instead, he remained rooted to the spot, standing there, looking down at you with eyes full of uncertainty. It was obvious he wanted to stay. And you did not want him to go.
Your hand reached out once more to gently touch his arm. "I want you to stay," you whispered.
In the dim light of the Halloween-lights, you could see how his eyes widened in surprise. You felt his body grow slack underneath your hand. "All right.”
Slowly, he sat down again. His hip slotted against yours, the warmth instantly returned, making you breathe a sigh of relief. He was here again, where he needed to be.
“My name's Arthur, by the way," he hesitatingly said, as if he were shy to introduce himself to you.
"Nice to meet you, Arthur," you replied, your heart racing as you studied his face. Beneath the makeup, there was a vulnerability that drew you in. Your thoughts raced, emotions swirling as you tried to make sense of the magnetic pull between you two.
"The boy I confused you with, he is Emma’s new friend,” you confessed, your gaze drifting to the ground. "She’s always dating, never able to go without a boyfriend for long, so I hadn’t really seen him yet.”
Arthur remained silent, just watched you, his gaze enough to encourage you. “She keeps trying to set me up, but it never feels right," you quietly admitted, feeling how Arthur shifted by your side. He placed his hands in front of him, fingertips touching.
“Truth is, I've never had a boyfriend before," you continued, voice a soft whisper. You tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “I've never even dated.”
Your eyes gently slid back to seek his. He was still looking at your face, his eyes desperately seeking yours. And when your gazes met, you could tell there was a quiet understanding in his. A deep warmth.
“How come,” he started, but had to pause to clear his throat. His voice was hoarse, filled with emotion. “How come no one ever claimed you as their own? Who wouldn’t want you?” he asked you, warming you up inside because that was a high compliment. Who wouldn’t want you? Who would? Then again, you shrugged and shook your head.
With a small smile, you looked up at him again. “It’s not fully up to them, is it?” you said, a small smile curling your lips. It took him a moment to understand what you were saying, but then his lips curled into a smile as well, the red of his makeup curling upward even more.
“You didn’t want any of them,” he concluded, and you let out a sigh of relief that he caught your meaning.
“Never really felt a click with any of them,” you admitted. Your eyes drifted down to his hands. Carefully, you sought out his hand with your own, placing your palm on top of his. He allowed you to touch him, even waited till you liked up again before he flashed you another smile. Emboldened by his reaction, you gently squeezed his hand.
"I meant what I said earlier on,” you started, shyly but suggestive. “Maybe we could, uh, find some privacy inside?" Your voice was playful, teasing. "There are plenty of rooms."
Arthur's eyes sparked with mischief as he met your boldness head-on. "I'd like that." He returned the squeeze with his hand, then carefully rose, holding your hand in his own. He waited for you to lead the way, an unspoken invitation that sent a thrill through you. With your heart pounding, you led him back into the house, your warm hands still touching. You could hear his rapid breathing and realized he was excited too.
Upon entering one of the unoccupied rooms, you closed the door behind you and locked it, your heart pounding with anticipation. The room was clean enough, pleasant enough for sure. A cream-colored bed, ordinary and plain, invited you to take this further. If Arthur hadn’t wanted to go this far, he would not have followed you in, would he? And so you turned to face Arthur, who stood there, hesitantly shifting his weight from one foot to another.
"Go on," you urged gently, "take off your costume."
He looked at you oddly, as if you had said something preposterous, but then slowly started to unbutton his waistcoat. “You want to do more than just talk,” he murmured, and you blinked at him. For a moment he had you confused.
“I mean,” you started, suddenly feeling insecure. Where you going too fast for him? Was this the right thing to do? “Only if you…”
A deep groan tore from Arthur’s lips, interrupting you before you could finish. The waistcoat slid down his shoulders and without hesitation, he started to unbutton his fly. “You think I’d say no?” his voice was husky and low, thick with arousal. Hearing it sent a spark of lust deep down your core, making your pussy slick and moist at the sound of him.
“Oh no, my beauty,” Arthur continued, the words drawn and a low hum. His hand revealed his aching cock, firmly stroking up and down the hardened flesh. “No, pretty girl, I am going to make you all mine.”
Your mouth had turned dry at the sight of him. So eager. So wanting. “You’re beautiful,” the words spilled from your lips, earning you a groan as Arthur squeezed his cock hard.
“Don’t lie to me, princess. I am not much to look at,” he grunted, moving his hand up and down his shaft. His eyes never left your frame though, silently undressing you with his gaze. “Too thin, too meager. Not much of a man at all.”
“I disagree,” you said without giving it a moment’s thought. Your hands moved up your sides, slowly peeling the dress from your body, revealing all that you had hidden beneath it. His eyes lit up at the sight of your skin, then darkened with sinful desire. "You're more handsome than you give yourself credit for, Arthur."
He blushed at your compliments, his cheeks warming beneath the fading clown makeup. Despite his thin frame, you were drawn to him, captivated by the vulnerability in his eyes. The dress pooled at your feet, and then you stood there in just your underwear. His eyes roved over you, eager to take you all in. You loved it, loved the way his eyes took you in as if he wanted to remember all of you.
"Come here," you whispered, beckoning him closer. And when he was within reach, you cradled his face in your hands, looking deeply into his eyes before pressing a sweet, lingering kiss upon his lips, uncaring of the makeup that would surely smudge your own.
When you broke apart to catch your breath, the words that escaped you were a whisper.
"I want you to be my first, Arthur."
Something seemed to shift within him then, as if your words had unlocked a hidden desire. His restraint vanished, replaced by a hungry passion that matched your own. Arthur's hands found their way to your back, pulling you closer as he returned your kisses, tracing the contours of your body.
The two of you moved together as if you were dancing again. His body fit perfectly against yours, his hands led the way. You didn’t even notice that he had led you toward the bed until you felt the back of your knees bump against the mattress. His wig cap tumbled off his head, revealing brown curls underneath. It suited him, you thought. He was gorgeous.
Another kiss as his lips met yours hungrily. His hands ran past your skin, fondling your breasts eagerly, squeezing a bit too hard but making you feel exceptionally good.
Breaking the kiss you were sharing, you murmured against his skin. "Be gentle with me."
His green eyes sparked as he lay you down on the bed. The world outside the room ceased to exist; all that mattered now was this intimate connection between you and Arthur. The way his hands ran past your body and his fingertips danced down your skin, the way his scent enveloped you entirely like an embrace, the way he sunk deep into your core, letting out a shuddering moan.
If there had been pain initially, it soon ebbed away at his gentleness. He allowed you time to adjust, panting heavily above you while his eyes sought out yours. When you felt he was able to move again you gave an encouraging nod. He followed your command without a pause, gently thrusting his hips, first shallowly but deeper and deeper as time and your body allowed.
There was an experimental thrust of his hips, followed by another moan from his lips. His eyes squeezed close and his face contorted in ecstasy. As he slowly started to pick up a pace, murmuring obscenities about how good this all was, you suddenly realized that this might be his first time as well. As your bodies entwined and he gently rocked inside of you, you arched your back, spreading your legs to give him a little more access to rock deeper inside.
Arthur bit his lip and grunted. Another thrust, this time firmer, bolder. He hit a delicious spot deep inside and your walls fluttered around him as a result. It tore another deep moan from him. Again.
“There,” you pleadingly said, “there.” He obliged, seeking the right angle and thrusting inside of you with deep strokes.
“Is that good, princess?” You heard his low voice rasp. He sounded nearly dangerous now, voice drenched with lust. “Do you like my cock deep inside your pretty little cunt?”
“Y-yes,” you stammered, hardly able to speak as pleasure overtook your body. Your pussy clenched down hard on his cock, gripping him like a vice, making him grit his teeth and groan.
“Hmm, too tight, princess,” the low murmur sounded near your ear. He was bent over you, rutting into you like a frenzied animal. You loved this wild side of him, his forceful thrusts. They helped sent you over the edge.
The intensity of your shared passion was overwhelming, yet you both navigated your newfound intimacy with care and tenderness. Your breaths mingled, hearts racing in unison as you reached the peak of your shared experience, an exhilarating crescendo that left you both breathless.
Exhausted and content, you held each other close, your body pressed against Arthur's as he cradled you in his arms. As the adrenaline subsided, you looked into each other's eyes, warmth and affection radiating between you.
"Was this…your first time too?" You gently ran a knuckle past his cheek, caressing him as you softly whispered your question.
His green eyes held yours even as he nodded, barely able to speak as he muttered, "Yes...” A pause, a bob of his throat as he swallowed. And then an admission. “I love you so much."
He buried his face against your shoulder, cradling you close to his chest. His brown curls brushed past the skin of your jaw. A smile formed on your lips as you basked in the feeling of being held in the afterglow. It felt good to be held by this man. It felt good to have been pleasured by him and to know you’d given him pleasure in turn.
You knew that something truly special had just transpired, a moment of beautiful vulnerability shared between two souls in a world where such tenderness was all too rare.
“Happy Halloween,” you whispered.

Summary: When Arthur needs a place to hide out, Merlin thinks that there is no place more perfect than the home of his friend, *yn*. What he doesn’t realise is that he is about to lead Arthur and an assassin right to a princesses doorstep.

“I was there in person, Odin has put a price on Prince Arthur’s head.”
“Surely he wouldn’t dare.” Uther scoffed.
“He’s blinded by grief, my lord. The assassin Myror has accepted the bounty.”
Uther froze at the mention of the assassin, his eyes flitting to Gaius briefly. “I’ve heard of this Myror.” He murmured.
“I believe he is headed for Camelot as we speak, my lord.” The man continued. “I bring this information to you at great risk to myself.”
Uther withheld an eye roll as he inclined his head to one of his guards. “Double the guards, I want this assassin intercepted before he reaches Camelot.” He spoke to his guards, dismissing the man with a flick of his fingers the second the bag of money landed with a clink into his eager hands.
“This assassin, Gaius.” Uther began as he paced around his throne room. “It is the same one that came for the princess.”
“I remember, my lord.” Gaius nodded.
“If he finds out that she is still alive...” Uther trailed off, “I made a vow to her parents to protect her.”
“I know my lord. But the princess is safe for now. No one in Camelot but you and I and a few of your guards are aware of her existence.”
Uther nodded as he drank in Gaius’ words of wisdom. “You are right. The girl is still living in the village yes? It has been a while since I have seen her.”
“Yes my lord, I make sure to wonder past every now and then and the guards give me regular reports.” Gaius explained. “The last place that an assassin would think to look for royalty is amongst the townspeople. She is safe, I am sure of it.”
Unbeknownst to Gaius was that Merlin had unwittingly befriended this princess in hiding.
And that he was about to lead the assassin straight to her doorstep.
-------------------
*yn* hummed quietly to herself as she stepped into her small cottage. Her straw basket looped around her arm was filled to the brim with flowers she had just picked from the base of a waterfall that skirted the borders of Camelot.
She continued to hum to herself as she grabbed a vase and began to arrange the flowers into a beautiful arrangement.
She then began to carefully bundle the left over flowers into tiny bouquets. She had a small stall in the village square where she sold her small floral arrangements. She didn’t make much, but it gave her something to do and she enjoyed being able to chat and socialise with customers.
She had enough money squirrelled away anyway to last her a lifetime even if she chose never to work another day again. Her mother had given her a sizeable bag of coins when she had fled to Camelot and every month she would find another bag at her doorstep.
She placed one of the bouquets to the side, away from the others that were to be sold. This one would be for Merlin. Her dearest and closest friend in all of Camelot.
The very same dearest friend that was well overdue for a visit, she realised.
Just as that thought had entered into her head there was a knock at her door. She hurriedly placed the flowers onto the table and made her way to the front door.
“Merlin.” She greeted when her eyes fell on the very person who had been occupying your thoughts.
“I was just beginning to think you’d forgotten me.” She teased, her eyes flitted behind Merlin and landed on another figure standing behind him. Their face was obscured by a large green cloak that billowed around them, engulfing their figure.
“Who-”
“*yn*... remember when you told me that you owed me one?” Merlin cut her off.
“...yes.” She spoke, eyeing him suspiciously.
“Well, I kind of need to ask for that favour. Like right now.... please.” Merlin spoke quickly, shooting her a charming grin.
“Of course, come in.” She answered, nodding her head as she stepped aside to allow him into her home.
Merlin hurriedly stepped inside, with the cloaked stranger hot on his heels. *yn* closed the door behind them, her eyes never leaving the hooded figure. She watched as they took a few steps into her small home before leaning up to push the hood off their head, revealing a mess of blonde hair.
She froze as they turned around to face her, their features immediately recognisable. She was staring back at Arthur Pendragon.
Arthur eyed the girl curiously, one of the loveliest people in Camelot - according to Merlin. And he could understand why. She seemed to practically radiate kindness and gentleness. And she was probably the most beautiful girl Arthur had ever laid eyes on, prettier than any princess he had ever encountered.
Maybe staying here wouldn’t be so bad after all.
“Oh my-” *yn* cut herself off as she shot Merlin a look of complete shock. She knew Merlin was Arthur Pendragon’s manservant but she never thought that he would be standing in her house before her.
“*yn*, this is Arthur. Arthur, *yn*.” Merlin introduced awkwardly as he glanced between the two. “*yn* is a good friend of mine, she runs a small flower shop in the market square.”
“My Lord.” She spoke, dropping down to a curtsey as her formal training kicked in.
“Look I’m sorry to spring this on you *yn* but... well it’s a long story that I will explain.. eventually.. but Arthur is in hiding and he needs somewhere to stay for a few days. Somewhere no one in the castle will think to look.” Merlin explained.
*yn*’s eyes grew wide as she realised what Merlin was asking of her. He wanted her to host the prince of Camelot in her home? Had he lost his mind?
“Merlin I-” She cut herself off, clamping her mouth shut as she studied his desperate features and reminded herself of how good of a friend he was to her. She resisted the urge to let out a sigh as she nodded. “Of course. You are more than welcome to stay here my lord.” She spoke, forcing a polite smile onto her features.
“Thank you *yn*.” Arthur nodded. “Not a single soul must know I am here.”
“Your secret is safe with me, my lord.” She assured him, averting her gaze to the ground as she gave him another small curtsey.
“Good.” He spoke, finally drawing his eyes from her to look around the cottage.
It was quite small given it only needed to house one person usually, but it was in very good condition for the area of the town *yn* lived in. One benefit of having practically endless savings.
“I... guess this will do.” She heard Arthur remark.
*yn* sucked in a breath as she shot a glare at Merlin before muttering under her breath, “consider that favour completely returned.”
"How are the preparations coming along? Have you found someone to play our knight in the tournament?” *yn* watched as Arthur paced around her home, like he was inspecting every inch of it.
“Yes, he is the son of a farmer who lives in one of the outlying villages and no one will recognise him.”
“But does he look the part?” Arthur queried. Merlin paused as he opened his mouth before promptly shutting it.
“I’ll go get him.” Was all he said before hurrying off, leaving *yn* and Arthur alone.
“So that’s why you’re here? So you can enter the tournament without people knowing it’s you?” *yn* asked him as Merlin’s words sunk in.
“Yes.” Arthur nodded as he took a seat at her dining table. “I want to be able to prove that I can win on my own merit, not just because I’m a prince.”
“I think that’s very honourable, I’m sure it must be frustrating sometimes when you can’t tell if people are treating you a certain way just because you’re royalty.” *yn* busied herself in the kitchen as she spoke.
Arthur eyed her intently as she talked. No one had ever understood him like that before. “It can be.” Was all he said before Merlin burst back in through the door moments later. *yn* turned to see a scruffy, weedy boy following behind him.
“This is our knight?” Arthur queried indignantly.
“Tomas!” *yn* smiled, instantly recognising him once he’d stepped into the middle of the house.
“What was that about no one recognising him?” Arthur narked as *yn* stepped forward to hug him.
“I only recognise him because I go out past his father’s farm sometimes to collect flowers.” *yn* replied as she let go of the boy who was still yet to speak.
“How’s your mother? Did she like that last bouquet I did for her?” She queried to which he shyly nodded, stealing a glance at Arthur and Merlin as if he was afraid to speak.
“Do not worry about them.” *yn* laughed, “come, I’ll get you cleaned up. You’ll be looking like a knight in no time.” And before Merlin or Arthur could get a word in she had taken Tomas’ hand and led him towards the bath.
Arthur looked up at Merlin questioningly, clearly in disbelief over *yn*’s actions.
“I told you she was lovely.”
After a good thirty minutes of scrubbing and hair brushing, *yn* was pleased to say that Tomas looked very good. And he looked even better once Merlin had put him into his chainmail and fake family colours. Handsome even.
“From now on, you are Sir William of Dayra.” Merlin explained as he pulled out a picture of a family lineage.
“Now, to get you acting the part. Try and act like your a knight.” Merlin continued as *yn* and him went to sit down alongside Arthur.
*yn* watched as Tomas stalked back and forth, his shoulders slumped awkwardly.
“Imagine that you’re really.... arrogant. Knights to think they’re so much better than everyone else.” Merlin explained and *yn* tried to stifle a laugh at his words.
“It’s not arrogance. Ignore him, he’s an idiot.” Arthur quipped back. “A knight must behave with honour and nobility.”
*yn* watched as Tomas straightened up and began to strut, a strange look on his features.
“That’s... better.” Arthur remarked.
“You have to convince everyone you were born into a noble family.” *yn* explained as she rose from her seat. “That you’ve known nothing else apart from that life.”
She stood next to Tomas, “like this.” She straightened up, remembering all of those lessons that her tutor had given her on how to present herself in public. Then she was walking, her feet gliding on the floor as she clutched her hands in front of her and surveyed the room like it was her kingdom.
“Wow *yn* that was scarily good. You really nailed that air of superiority.” Merlin praised once she’d broken character. She let out a laugh, stopping once she saw Arthur studying her with wide eyes.
“Your turn Tomas.” She spoke, dragging her eyes from Arthur as she hurried to sit back down.
She watched as he straightened up once more and looked down his nose at Merlin. “Polish my armour boy.”
She raised her brows in shock at the sense of authority in his words. “Now you’re getting the hang of it.” Arthur praised.
“That is a good point you do need to polish our armour.”
------------------
“How were you so good at pretending to be noble today?” *yn* looked up from her dinner in surprise at the sound of Arthur’s voice. He had barely said a word once Merlin had left and the pair had been left alone.
“Oh I uh- I guess I’m just good at observing people and picking up on mannerisms.” She lied, shooting him a small smile before turning her attention back to her dinner.
Arthur didn’t respond for a while, drinking deeply from his goblet as he studied her.
“Have you lived in Camelot your whole life?”
“Uh no actually I came here when I was 13 after I lost my parents.”
Not a total lie, her mother was still alive as far as she knew, she just could not contact her in fear of her identity being discovered.
“Where did you come from?”
“From Dracar.” She answered and his brows shot up in surprise.
“Dracar... that’s very far from here. And you’ve been alone since you were 13? How have you survived?” Arthur questioned, horrified at the thought of a girl so young being left to raise herself.
“My parents left me a sizeable amount of money when they passed.” Again, not a total lie. “Plus they have friends here in Camelot that kept an eye on me.”
“That’s awful, I’m sorry you had to endure that.” Arthur spoke with surprising softness.
Merlin had told her many stories about Arthur. Most aligned with what she had witnessed this afternoon, stories filled with arrogance, spoilt-ness and immaturity. But there were also stories of compassion and bravery, stories that gave *yn* hope for the future of Camelot. *yn* had a feeling she was seeing a rare glimpse of that Arthur right now.
“Thank you, my lord.” She smiled softly as she leant over to take his plate.
“Right, well.” Arthur cleared his throat awkwardly. “It’s been a long day. I think I’ll turn in for the night.” He explained as she washed the dishes.
“Of course, I’ve laid a mattress out for you.” She gestured to the thin mattress on the floor near the front door. “Tomas’ mother was gracious enough to lend me one when I went and visited her this afternoon.”
“Oh... right.” He responded and *yn* raised a brow at the visible disgust on his face.
And there was the other side of Arthur.
“I do have my bed, my lord, if you wish to take it.” She answered, her tone a bit more clipped than intended as she stared at him.
“Oh no no it’s alright. I’m sure I’ll make do.” He replied, speaking as if he had to convince himself of that fact more than her.
She withheld a sigh as she blew out the candle and made her way past the curtain divider that separated her room from the rest of the house. She quickly got dressed for bed, sliding under the covers just as she heard Arthur doing the same.
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she heard Arthur toss and turn on the mattress and bang the pillow a few times. She squeezed her eyes shut as she pulled her blanket up and attempted to sleep. A few minutes of silence stretched out once Arthur had stilled.
“Goodnight *yn*.” Arthur’s voice called out.
Despite everything, a small smile spread across her lips in response.
“Goodnight my lord.”
---------------
“Good god I am exhausted.”
*yn* looked up from the table at the sound of her front door opening to see Arthur shrugging off his coat.
“How did the tournament go, my lord?” *yn* asked politely as she turned her attention back to her flowers.
Arthur paused at her words, watching in fascination as she delicately arranged the floral arrangements. Her hair was half out and half up today, with little wild flowers woven throughout. She had tiny tresses of hair that had fallen out of place and were framing her face.
Arthur cleared his throat, feeling his cheeks flush slightly as he realised he’d been staring. “I won, as expected.”
“Congratulations.” *yn* smiled softly.
“You didn’t come and watch?” Arthur asked, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible as he took a seat on his mattress.
“I had to go and collect some flowers from outside Camelot today, they only bloom for a few days before they die.” She explained as she began to carefully trim the stalks.
There was a pause as Arthur continued to watch her in silent fascination. *yn* blissfuly unaware of his stare due to her complete focus on the flowers in front of her.
“Is that really what you do all day?” Arthur finally broke the silence as he meandered over to the small kitchen.
His words made *yn* raise a brow and finally look up at him.
“What would you rather me do instead?” Her words came out more frosty than she had intended and Arthur jerked his head up in surprise at her tone.
“Uh no I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that I-” He cut himself off as he felt himself grow embarrassed under her unwavering gaze. “I just meant that I couldn’t imagine myself doing what you do. I’d probably just crush the flowers or something.” He explained.
His answer caused a humoured expression to flash across *yn*’s features as she turned back to the table. “You probably would.” Arthur felt relieved at the lightness woven into her tone.
“Anyway I’m famished. Can you get started on dinner?”
*yn* felt annoyance wash through her at his question. Her grip on the stalks tightened. “Please.” She mumbled under her breath as she breathed deeply to try and simmer her rage.
“What was that?” Arthur asked from behind her and before she could stop herself she had swung around.
“No I cannot get started on dinner just because you feel like it, I have to go out and deliver some flowers.” She snapped.
He took a step back, clearly affronted by her tone and words as he surveyed her. “I didn’t know you felt that way. You could have just said so.”
His reply made her let out a scoff, “Of course you don’t know. You’re a Prince, I can’t exactly just say exactly how I feel, can I?”
“Please.” He gestured to her, “No ones stopping you now. Is there anything else that’s bothering you?” His sarcastic tone just made that rage bubble closer to the surface and before she could stop herself she was opening her mouth again.
“Yes actually there is. I understand that my home isn’t exactly a castle but it is still my home and I have allowed you to stay in it so the least you could do is be grateful and not turn your nose up at everything. And also not treat me like your own personal servant. I have my own business to run and things to do, I cannot be there at your beck and call just because you may need a shirt fixed or are hungry. And I understand that people like Tomas may seem ‘dirty’ or strange to you but they are good, kind people who are loyal to you and your father so the least you could do is show them some respect.” She spoke, her voice rising higher and higher as she continued.
“I know that we- you are raised to believe that you are of higher status and are more important but that does not give you the right to walk all over people and make them feel inferior. And would it kill you to say please every now and then?”
Suffocating silence followed as Arthur stared at her dumbfounded. *yn* swore she saw her life flash before her eyes as it sunk in just exactly what she had said to the future King of Camelot. At least Uther probably wouldn’t have her executed given his friendship with her family. That was some comfort.
“I’m sorry, you are right.”
His words nearly made *yn* stumble back in surprise.
“I am a guest in your home, an unexpected and probably unwelcome one at that. And I have behaved appallingly. There’s no excuse for my behaviour so I apologise, you do not deserve that.”
*yn*’s lips parted in shock as she stared back at the prince. “Thank you. I’m sorry for how I spoke to you-”
“Do not apologise, you had every right. I was behaving like a prat.” Arthur cut her off before she could finish her apology.
“Now, you go and deliver your flowers.” He grabbed her shoulders and began to guide her towards the door. “Don’t worry about dinner, I’ll sort it out.”
“My lord are you sure because-”
“Yes, I am sure.” He insisted as he grabbed her basket of flowers and pressed them into her chest.
“Now go and enjoy yourself.” Arthur opened the front door for her and beckoned her out. She took a step outside and turned to him, her brow creased in concern.
“Please.” He added before shooting her a small smile. A smile tugged up onto her lips and she nodded before stepping outside, leaving Arthur left with the terrifying task of making dinner.
----------
It was dark outside by the time *yn* returned home. Amazing spices and smells overwhelmed her the second she stepped through the door. She felt her heart warm at the sight of the beautifully laid dinner on her table. Arthur had even gone to the trouble of lighting some candles and clumsily arranging some flowers.
“It looks beautiful.” She observed as she cautiously took a few steps inside.
“Please, sit.” Arthur encouraged as he pulled back her chair for her. She smiled and took a seat, waiting patiently as he pushed her back in then joined her at the table.
She glanced down at the dinner, a beautiful roast chicken with potatoes and vegetables. All piled onto plates she did not recognise. “You cooked this?” She queried innocently.
“Ah-” Arthur cut himself off. He was going to lie and say he had cooked it himself but one look at *yn* and he instantly felt the urge to tell the truth surge through him.
“I’m ashamed to say no. I got it from the palace kitchens.” He admitted. “I’m sorry but I feel like if I had attempted to cook I would have burnt your house down.”
His answer made *yn* laugh much to his relief. “It’s ok. We’ll just have to train you up.” She smirked which caused Arthur to let out a small chuckle.
“Only if you’re my teacher.”
“I’ll give it a go.” She smiled as she picked up her cutlery. “Thank you my lord.”
“Arthur, please call me Arthur.” He answered which caused a small blush to form on her cheeks as she nodded.
“Thank you, Arthur.” She corrected herself, shooting him another smile before she dug in to her food.
----------
Myror peered through the window of the small cottage. He had followed Prince Arthur’s serving boy, Merlin, all the way here.
A small smile appeared on his lips as he spotted the prince seated at the table. He was laughing and chatting to someone as he ate. Myror moved a few steps so he could see further into the home.
He froze when his eyes fell on the person sitting opposite Arthur.
She was older, more beautiful. A woman now. But it was most definitely her.
He was staring at Princess *yn* of Dracar.
Myror never forgot the faces of those that he killed. Or tried to kill.
He’d always had a suspicion that she had made it out of that burning cottage alive because they had never recovered her body. The person who had hired him did to. For months Myror had scoured the continent, searching for any sign of the Princess. But she was no where to be found.
Even his spies inside the castle of Dracar had insisted that there was no inclination that the King and Queen were hiding her anywhere in secret.
Eventually Myror had given up on his search. But the person who had hired him had always told him that if he ever brought back her body, he’d be paid triple what he had been paid last time. Plus, his ego had been shattered at the knowledge that one of his targets might have escaped. This would help piece it back together.
He slid the arrow into his small crossbow and angled it at Arthur. He'd take him out first. He closed one eye and placed his finger on the trigger. He was just about to send the arrow flying when the sound of guards approaching made him flinch.
He jerked his head up to see a patrol rounding the corner. He cursed under his breath and sprinted off. He would have to find another way of killing the prince.
------------
Arthur and *yn* had been seated at the table for hours now, talking about everything and anything. *yn* had just finished explaining that she owed Merlin a favour because he had once saved her from being attacked by a swarm of bees near one of the flower fields. Now the pair had slipped into a comfortable silence as they finished their meals.
“So earlier today, when you were rousing on me..” Arthur began, an amused look on his features as he drank from his goblet. “You started to say that ‘we’ were raised to believe we were better than others.”
“Can I add ‘annoyingly observant’ to my list of gripes with you?” *yn* answered.
*yn* was feeling herself becoming increasingly relaxed and comfortable around Arthur, ever since their argument. That included being much more inclined to send his sarcastic comments his way. Arthur was more than happy to hear them, because he could see that she was starting to treat him like a person and not as a prince.
“Come on, what did you mean by that?” He asked, electing to ignore her jab.
*yn* let out a small sigh before reaching for her goblet and drinking deeply from it. “My family, they were very wealthy. We had high status in Dracar.” She explained.
Again, not a complete lie.
“Dracar is a wealthy kingdom.” Arthur remarked. “Your family must have been very well established to have high status there.”
Oh if he only knew.
“They were.” She nodded. “I was raised just as you were. Taught the importance of status and nobility. I grew up my whole life being surrounded by wealth and servants.” Arthur was studying her intently as she spoke. “And when I lost my parents... I lost all of that. I remember arriving here and having no clue how I would cope without servants and luxury.” She laughed lightly, shaking her head at her younger self.
“And how did you cope, adjust?”
“I just... did. I didn’t have a choice really. It was either adapt or go mad.” She explained, shrugging her shoulders. “The people of Camelot were so kind to me, I think they saved me. They made me realise just how kind people can be if you show them kindness too. That most of the time deep down, people are good if you give them a chance. And it made me realise that I have all I’ll ever need and want right here.” She smiled, gesturing around her home.
“So despite how I was raised, I don’t think I would go back even if I could.”
Silence filled the room as Arthur stared at her in awe. Just as he opened his mouth to say something the door burst open.
“Arthur.” Merlin appeared as he stumbled through the door. “There’s an assassin here in Camelot, he’s here to kill you.” Merlin’s body heaved up and down, his breathing ragged as he shut the door behind him.
“Are you sure?” *yn* queried as Arthur rose from his seat, his eyes fixed on Merlin.
“The assassin killed a guard.” Merlin explained as Arthur began to pace around the room. “Your father said Odin sent him. That his name is Myror.”
*yn* froze, her blood running cold at the name. A name that she would never forget. It couldn’t possibly be that the very same assassin that had tried to kill her all those years ago was here now to kill Arthur.
She glanced over at Arthur to see that he had stopped pacing and instead was staring into space, clearly consumed by his thoughts. It would be fine, she didn’t need to panic. He would get caught. Plus, there was no way he could know that she was alive, or here for that matter.
“Why does Odin want you dead?” She asked quietly.
“Because I killed his son.” He explained as he turned to face her. “Odin’s son challenged me to a fight, I had no quarrel with him. I asked him to withdraw. Perhaps he felt he had to prove himself.”
*yn* felt a wave of sympathy wash over her as she studied Arthur’s pained expression. “I still see his face.” He breathed out. “He looked so scared.”
“You cannot blame yourself, Arthur.” *yn* spoke gently and Merlin couldn’t hide the surprise on his face at the usage of Arthur’s name.
“No one but us two know that you’re here.” Merlin walked towards Arthur. “If the assassin can’t find you, he can’t kill you.”
“Merlin is right.” *yn* nodded. “You’re safe here.”
That night *yn* barely slept a wink, tossing and turning in her bed. Her dreams were filled with the face of Myror, haunting her every movement. She swore she woke up a few times and thought she had heard someone outside her door.
Through the tossing and the turning she had decided that she could not possibly risk going to the tournament tomorrow. Despite being desperate to go and see Arthur compete and cheer him on, she knew it was not wise. She could not risk going out in public and having the assassin recognise her. To send word back to Dracar that she was alive. She would have to wait in her home until she had heard word that the assassin had been caught.
Those thoughts were swimming around in her head the next morning as she watched Arthur ready himself for the final day of the competition.
“Last match.” Arthur commented as he shrugged his green cloak over his shoulders.
“I am sure you will win.” She smiled softly as she leant up to help him tie his cloak. “I uh- I kept this for you.” She continued as she pulled out a flower from her dress pocket.
“It’s a peony. They’re meant to bring good luck.”
Arthur smiled softly as he leant down and carefully took the flower from her outstretched hand. “Thank you. I will be sure to wear it when I compete.” He nodded before reaching up and tucking it behind his ear.
She let out a small giggle as he shot her a goofy smile, breaking the awkward tension between the two.
“Thank you *yn*, for everything.” Arthur spoke as he looked down at her. Her heart rate increased as Arthur’s eyes flickered down to her lips before going back to her eyes.
“Good luck Arthur.” She murmured, feeling a pang in her chest as she forced herself to take a step back.
She could not kiss him, not when there was so much about her that Arthur did not know. Arthur’s smile faltered slightly as their connection broke and he sent her a stiff nod before turning to open the front door.
She felt guilt flow through her as she watched him leave. She couldn’t bring herself to tell him that she would not be at the tournament. Because then he would ask why and she would have to lie - again.
And just like that, the prince was gone.
------------------
A few days had passed since the tournament.
Arthur had discovered after the joust that he had been jousting against the assassin and although Myror had been knocked off his horse, he must have had enough strength to scurry off. Because by the time the actual knight who was supposed to have been competing against Arthur was found dead inside his tent, Myror was no where to be found.
The guards were still searching high and low for him. Uther swore he would not rest until the assassin was found.
In the mean time, it was like nothing had even happened. Arthur had returned to the castle, pretending to have returned from the northern border, and had continued on with his daily duties. Instead of the glory of the victory, he was left with an aching wound and a bruised ego. He was trying not to think about *yn*. About the fact that he had not seen her in the crowd when he was about to do his last joust. Merlin had not even mentioned *yn* once, apart from a snide remark that *yn* must be happy to get a proper night sleep now.
He had been thinking about going to see her in the village but decided against it. She had made her feelings clear by not attending the tournament. He really must have been just an annoying inconvenience for her.
Which is how he had ended up here, in the throne room, speaking to his father and a few of the senior guards about any updates on the assassin. He felt a nudge on his shoulder causing him to break out of his thoughts of *yn*. He glanced up to see Merlin shooting him a pointed look.
Clearly his lack of interest in the meeting was not going unnoticed. He rubbed his forehead and tried to focus as he raised his head and attempted to listen to his father.
The door burst open causing everyone’s heads to jerk towards the entrance.
“Sire.” One of Uther’s personal guards, Mikel, called out and hurried towards the king.
“What is the meaning of this?” Uther queried, his brow furrowed at being interrupted.
“It is...” Mikel glanced at the others in the room.
“It is *yn*, Sire.” He explained and Arthur glanced up at Merlin just to confirm he was not hearing things. Merlin was looking just as confused, already looking back at Arthur.
“She is here, in the castle. She is quite frantic, Sire. She is asking to see you, she is saying it’s an emergency.” Mikel continued.
Uther studied him for a few moments. “Bring her in.” Uther nodded, beckoning with his gloved hand.
With that gesture the door burst open and Arthur resisted the urge to spring from his seat at the sight of *yn*.
She was dishevelled and panic was written across her features. She sprinted into the throne room and made a beeline for Uther. Arthur’s brow furrowed in confusion as she completely ignored him and made her way towards Uther.
“Uther, please.” She begged as she ran into his arms and began to sob.
“My child what is it?” Uther spoke with an uncharacteristic softness.
“He’s back, Myror he- he’s here to kill me. He knows about me.” She sobbed as she buried her head into his chest.
“You are safe child, nothing will happen while you are in this castle. I swore to your parents that I would protect you.” He reassured her.
“No you do not understand.” She cried. “He found me.... he...” She trailed off as she began to sway. “He...”
Arthur was immediately up from his seat when *yn* suddenly fell back, slipping into unconsciousness. Uther managed to grab her before she fell to the floor. Arthur rushed to her side, kneeling down on the floor as Uther gently lay her on her back, his eyes frantically surveying her body.
“There’s blood on the floor.” Arthur noted and when he pulled back her coat, he felt panic rise up in his body at the sight of a deep red stain on her stomach that was rapidly growing in size.
“She’s been stabbed.” He murmured. His eyes scanned the rest of her body and noticed a few other abrasions and scuffs.
“I will take her to Gaius, someone alert him.” Uther ordered.
“I’ll go.” Merlin nodded and was sprinting out of the room before anyone else could utter a word.
“I’ve got her, father.” Arthur interjected, sliding his arms under her body before Uther had even moved.
Uther simply nodded, watching as his son rose to his full height, *yn*’s limp body carefully cradled in his arms.
“Double the guards.” Uther placed his hands on his hips and stared at Mikel. “I want this assassin found. Now.”
--------------
Arthur paced back and forth outside Gaius’ room.
“I do not understand. How does my father know her? Why would the same assassin that was after me go after *yn*?” Arthur queried, his eyes darting to the door every few seconds as he waited for Gaius to appear.
“I do not know.” Merlin answered quietly.
“I’m sure she’ll be fine Arthur.”
Just as those words left Merlin’s lips, the door opened. Arthur was in front of Gaius in a second, chewing at his thumb anxiously as he held his breath and waited. Gaius did a double take at the prince in front of him, his eyes darting to Merlin to see him also staring at him on edge.
“She’ll be ok. The wound was deep but did not hit any important organs. I was able to stem the bleeding.” He explained and both men let out a sigh of relief.
“May I see her?” Arthur asked. “She is still unconscious but yes.” Gaius nodded, stepping aside to let them inside.
Arthur rushed inside, making a beeline to *yn* who was lying on a makeshift stretcher. He let out a breath as he studied *yn*’s peaceful features.
“I thought it was odd that I had not heard from her.” Merlin murmured as he came to stand beside Arthur. “I should have checked on her.”
“You know her?” Gaius queried, confusion etched on his features as he made his way over to them. “She is a close friend.” Merlin nodded, “We met when I first arrived here.”
Gaius scoffed and shook his head, “What is it with you and always finding trouble, boy?”
“What does that mean?” Arthur asked, jerking his head up to look at Gaius. “Who is she?”
Gaius’ face turned taut, his expression unreadable as he studied the future king. He seemed to be debating whether to reveal her identity.
“Gaius.” Arthur spoke firmly, authority evident in his voice. He was not asking this time.
“She is....” He trailed off as he turned to study her motionless body, his resolve wavering.
“She is Princess *yn* of Dracar.”
All colour drained from Arthur’s face as he looked down at her once more. Merlin’s face had also paled as he gawked at the princess.
“So I was friends with a princess this whole time?”
----------------
The first thing that *yn* sensed as she stirred was that she was in an unusually comfortable bed. She blinked a few times as she came to, letting her eyes become adjusted to the light. She rubbed at her eyes and winced as she felt pain ripple through her abdomen.
Then it all came flooding back. She opened her eyes properly this time and looked around. She was in an unfamiliar room, lying in a king sized four poster bed. One that was very similar to her own back in Dracar. She glanced around the room, noting the size of it and the beautiful arched windows on one side of the room.
She must be in the castle.
*yn* turned her head and felt emotions flare up in her at the sight before her. An armchair had been moved to be right beside her bed. And seated on it was a sleeping Arthur Pendragon.
She cringed as she forced herself to sit up against the headboard. She glanced underneath the sheets, pulling up her dress to see that her wound had been bandaged neatly. She had been changed into a night dress and felt cleaner too, like someone had washed her carefully whilst she had been unconscious.
*yn* turned to Arthur, studying his handsome features for a few moments. She withheld a small giggle as he turned in his sleep, causing his blonde fringe to flop over his face. She carefully leant over and attempted to brush it off his face.
She withdrew her arm when Arthur suddenly stirred, his eyes springing open to glance around, as if he was expecting a threat. He relaxed slightly when he realised that it had just been *yn*, but concern was still plastered over his face as he sat up.
“Are you alright?” He murmured, studying every inch of her face. She nodded in response, biting her lip as she gazed at him.
“I uh-” Arthur gestured to the room around them. “We thought it would be best if you stayed in the castle until...” He trailed off, his eyes blazing with rage at the thought of the assassin. “One of the servants, Gwen, bathed and dressed you. I hope that is alright.”
“That is more than alright.” She answered, shooting him a small smile. “Thank you.”
Arthur simply nodded back, glancing down to fiddle with his hands to avoid her gaze.
“I heard about the tournament. That Sir William won.” *yn* murmured. “Why did you not claim your victory and have your glory?” She asked.
There was a pause as Arthur eyed her, “because I thought it was time for some humility.” His answer made her heart swell with pride, at being able to see this kind side of Arthur.
“Is this... why you did not come to the tournament? Because you realised it was the same assassin that was after you all those years ago?” Arthur asked her, his voice so quiet she almost didn’t hear him.
She felt like the breath had been knocked out of her as she studied him. He knew. He knew who she was. Who she had been.
“Yes.” She breathed out. “I was fearful he might be there and recognise me.”
“Why was he after you?”
Another pause as she studied him, trying to read him. To get a sense on what he was feeling towards her. “My mother only bore my father one child. A girl. Usual tradition would mean that my father’s brother, my uncle, would be announced as next in line for the throne. But my father he... he did not believe in tradition.” She explained and as she spoke, Arthur finally looked up to lock eyes with her.
“He named me as his heir. That angered my uncle. He felt like he deserved to rule, so he hired Myror.” She explained, her eyes glazing over as memories came crawling back into her mind.
“Your father did not punish him for this? Did not have him executed?” Arthur queried in disbelief.
“There was no proof of it.” *yn* shook her head. “Besides, before he could do anything my father was killed in battle. My mother knew she could not protect me on her own so she sent me here and claimed that I had died in a cottage fire when I was away on a hunt. I later heard word that my uncle had married her and taken my father’s title as king. If I was to return to Dracar he would have me executed on the spot, I am sure of it.”
“I am truly sorry.” Arthur shook his head, his voice hoarse as he reached over to take her hand in his. “I understand why you did not tell me.” He continued as he squeezed her hand gently. “But I am glad I know, that you no longer have to hide who you really are from me.”
*yn* smiled as she tried to suppress the tears that were threatening to spill down onto her cheeks. “As am I. I hated having to lie to you.”
“Now I understand why you were so good at pretending to be a royal when you were teaching Tomas.” Arthur mused, causing a small chuckle to escape her lips.
“One does not simply unlearn years of torturous training.”
“Oh yes believe me I know.” He responded, a smile playing on his lips as he watched her laugh. Eventually their laughter faded and they fell back into silence, simply gazing at each other intently.
“Have they caught him?” *yn* finally spoke, finally getting the courage to ask the question that she truly feared the answer.
“Not yet.” Arthur shook his head. He squeezed her hand when he noticed the fear that crossed it at his answer.
“I promise that I will protect you *yn*, with my life. He will not even come close to harming you.”
*yn* gazed up at him, his tone so earnest and heartfelt that she thought her heart might burst. Before she could overthink her actions, *yn* leant up and captured his lips in a kiss.
Arthur’s eyes widened as he felt her lips suddenly on his. She pulled away, biting her lip slightly as she searched his face for any sign of emotion. Then Arthur lurched forward, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss. Eventually the pair pulled away, both slightly breathless as they stared at each other with smiles on their faces.
“You are safe with me.” He whispered against her lips as *yn* brought a hand up to caress his jaw.
“Stay with me?” *yn* murmured after a few moments.
He merely nodded and *yn* then pulled away and moved over on the mattress for him to join her. Arthur slid under the covers and lay down beside her. Their limbs moulded together instantly as *yn* laid her head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around her.
She felt her eyelids begin to grow heavy as she listened to Arthur’s heartbeat through his chest. Arthur brought a hand up and began to methodically run it through her hair. He placed a gentle kiss to her forehead as she slipped into a peaceful slumber.
“Have a good sleep, princess.”

It had been a long day of driving back home from New York to the small town of Macomb but you couldn’t wait to see your brother. When you finally arrived and pulled up to your brothers house you were immediately greeted by your brother, niece and nephew, running up to you and tackling you into a hug.
“Aunt y/n, Aunt y/n, I’ve missed you so much.” A very excitable Scout Finch practically shouted at the top of her lungs. “It was only just a year since you saw me though.” You lightly giggled at Scouts hyperactive behaviour. “It felt like ages though to be fair.” Jem interrupted as you ruffled his hair lightly. “Kids, why don’t you two run along and go play while I talk to your aunt y/n and catch her up on.. recent events.” And with that the kids were off running about in the yard.
“It’s good to see you” Atticus hugged you ”how about we go inside. There’s some things I need to tell you about.” You glanced worriedly at him.”it’s about Arthur Radley.” Upon hearing that name you swear your heart skipped a beat. You hadn’t seen him since you and your brother went to school and high school with him. Until you didn’t see him anymore and the rumours started.
You sat down in Atticus’ clean, nicely decorated living room on the black sofa, a glass of lemonade in hand, when you finally decided to pipe up.”So, what is there to tell me about Bo- Arthur.” You paused before saying his name, almost saying Boo. “Well, last year, in autumn, Halloween, there was..an incident involving the kids and Arthur. Mr Ewell supposedly tried to attack the children and well, Arthur saved them, however killing Mr Ewell in the process.” He paused for a moment and you quietly gasped. You thought he had gone to jail or worse and began to panic. Sure it had been years since you had seen him but, that didn’t mean you didn’t care for him like you did as kids.” Thankfully the sheriff took pity on him and he has been left and free from punishment. The children have also formed a good relationship with Arthur and I have re developed a friendship with him and now it is a regular occurrence that we see him.” He paused again for you to speak “Well does that mean he’s leaving the house now?” God you had so many questions.” Yes he often goes out with us actually or comes round here. We helped him with his house and fixing it up too, in case that was a concern.” It was. In fact it was your next question. The last time you had seen the house it was in bad conditions so of course you had concerns about that.
You spent the next hour or so talking about other changes that had happened since you had last seen each other. You talked about your graduation, how the kids were and how his job was going. “Oh by the way, did I mention that Arthur would be coming over tonight. I invited him round for dinner thinking maybe you two could get to talking again. Who knows maybe you still have the same feelings as you did in high school.” This time your heart definitely did stop. Then you felt the sudden annoyance at your brothers sneaky comment, referring to the fact that you used to have a stupid little crush on your older brothers friend. He had a fair point though. What if you did still have a crush on him..or more.
You spent the evening deciding on weather or not you should clean up your appearance. You decided it would be for the best. Just in case you ended up wanting to leave a good impression on Boo. Obviously you couldn’t make it too obvious you were trying so you tidied up your makeup and got changed.
You decided to go back downstairs and wait on the sofa and just scroll through social media until you needed to do other wise.
About 20 minutes later you heard the doorbell ring and hear Atticus shout down the stairs “I’ll get it.” You turned to face the door and watch as Atticus opened it. You couldn’t see him, but you heard him and your heart practically melted immediately at just the sound of his voice. He was relatively quiet but loud enough that you could hear him from where you were sitting. His voice had gotten slightly deeper and he sounded slightly nervous. Maybe he knew you were here ”thank you for inviting me over.” He spoke softly as he entered the living room and Atticus stepped out of the way and closed the door once he had entered the house. ”not a problem Arthur.” You couldn’t help but stare a little, and you weren’t exactly sure what enticed you to stare. Maybe it was his short, messy blonde hair, the light stubble he had or his grey, colourless yet beautiful eyes. You blushed and quickly looked away, realising you were probably staring too long, and he blushed as well. You only caught a short glimpse of him blushing but you thought it was adorable. The way his perfectly snow-white skin tinted pink was making your heart melt. “Y/n” Atticus suddenly spoke up to break the tension and make conversation. “why don’t you and Arthur talk for a while while I go check on the food and make sure the table is set. Kids why don’t you come help too.” With that Jem’s face turned annoyed “but Atticus I don’t-“ he then stopped as if he had realised something, and you think you know what” oh right of course.” All three then left the room and you and Boo were left along in the living room. You definitely knew what Atticus was doing. He wanted to set you two up, clearly, it was as clear as day. However you weren’t complaining in all honesty. He was pretty tall, about 6’2 6’3, he was wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and a flannel shirt, and he was still blushing lightly. The room was silent, not awkward, but a comfortable silence.. which you eventually decided to break.
“Would you like to sit down with me?” He replied by nodding slightly as you shuffled up on the couch to let him sit with you. God you were nervous, and you could tell that he was too. However, slowly but surely, you two fell into blissful conversation about anything and everything that had happened in the past god knows how many years. It felt perfect. Just like old times. That was until your brother decided to re-enter the room and ruin the moment. “Dinners ready you two.” He darted his head in through the door way, and we both stood up to go to the dining room to join the others..
Can I request what a domestic life would be like with Arthur if he survived and he and reader got a happily ever after? :')
alright, it's fluff tiime!
female!reader
the two of you end up settling down on a small self-sufficient farm, not far from the marstons
there's a small, run down cabin with little more than a bed, a stove, and a beat up old dresser by the edge of the wood that draws you in initially
you don't mean to stay more than a few days, looking for someplace a little further out, further north so you can go visit charles from time to time
but then you start getting sick; you're oddly warm, you have constant headaches, you find yourself more and more short of breath, and you have odd flashes of nausea
it's not that bad, but arthur still worries, digging his feet in and insisting you can stay here until you're better
a few weeks pass, and you're still heaving every morning, or close to it
but you're pretty sure you know what's going on, so you're not terribly worried, more excited honestly
arthur is still anxious, half-convinced you're on the verge of something worse
one afternoon, not long after you start showing, you beckon him inside earlier than usual
he's nervous, sure you're about to tell him you've gotten worse, so when you take his hand and put it on the round curve of your belly he pauses mid-word
stares at you, all the symptoms you've been showing lately rearing up in his head
the pieces fit together before you can say a word and all the stress falls out of his shoulders in a huff
he pulls you close to him with a laugh, pressing his face to your collarbone
chides you for letting him worry so long, but the chuckle he gives shows just how serious he is
after that his worry becomes pointedly more of a hovering thing
are you eating right?
are you resting?
is the baby okay?
and when it starts kicking...
~
the little cabin is nice at first. warm and homey
but as you start to show, the close-space becomes more cramped, and you find yourself in want of more elbow room when
eventually, arthur takes to spending most of his time outside, gathering supplies
he thinks you don't know that he and charles and john (when he has the time) are out laying the foundation for a nice big house out in the flowery meadow, so you don't tell him you know what's going on
as summer swells on, you find yourself alone more and more, filling your time with simple housework
you offer an almost forlorn sigh when he comes back in for the evening, when the boys don't just camp out in the meadow, and more often than not, arthur ducks his head a little in apology, pulling you close
maybe you tease him every now and then that you don't get to see him as much anymore
so when he pulls you away from the laundry one day, carefully but insistently leading you through the wood
all the way to the bare-bones frame of the house, overlooking the soft grassy meadow and the vague shape of the mountains beyond
while you're taking in the sight, arthur comes up close beside you, apologizes gently that he's been so absent lately, but the three of you are gonna need some room to spread your legs
john snickers off in the background, teasing him about getting mushy
before arthur can retort, there's a soft click, and then the music starts
soft, gentle dance music, warm and familiar
his hands fall to your waist, and you
"figured we could use a little time to ourselves, though…."
the dance is almost reverential
not melancholic like you'd think, but comforting
unfamiliar for the lack of fervid enthusiasm, instead smooth and graceful
your future feels hopeful, if blissfully mundane
~
by the time the house is ready to move in, of course, you've already given birth, a beautiful little girl with your eyes and arthur's hair
the first time she grabs his hair with her little hand arthur cries and doesn't let go of her for like an hour
on cool summer days you take her outside to play and give the horses some attention, and come back to find dinner cooling on the counter, arthur welcoming you back with a warm kiss and a bucket of fresh water on his hip, ready to give your daughter her bath

Hiya, I was looking through your page but honestly gave up with how far I scrolled 😅 so I was just curious if you had any head canons about a female reader that is attracted to/wants to date both Arthur and Charles? Thank you <3
F!Reader attracted to both Arthur and Charles
Okay, honestly I think at first they'd both start a bit of a competition together. Assuming Arthur is high-honor, he wouldn't want to share you, and neither would Charles. They're both good friends but they might get into small fights over you. They both believe you want one more than the other, it never occurs to them that you might want them both. They're never that mean with each other and they don't show off that much or try to woo you, they're just a bit annoyed with each other but allow you to have your pick.
When you tell them that you want them both together, they're both very surprised. A relationship like that is not at all common in 1899 and they don't know how it's supposed to work. They take things pretty slowly, one small step at a time. Charles is a lot more relaxed and confident in the relationship, Arthur is much more unsure. They become closer and their friendship tips into its own romantic relationship as well.
Neither of them gets jealous, they enjoy watching each other with you. Arthur thinks it must be a dream, that he gets to be in a relationship with his two favorite people. He draws you and Charles in his journal often.
Sleeping together, Charles doesn't care about the sleeping position but Arthur wants to both hold someone and be held. During sex, they're okay with taking turns with you. Arthur would go first because he cums faster. Charles is jerking off lazily as he watches you two have sex. He makes small comments about how beautiful you two are. They'd also be into double penetration later in the relationship. They're both hung like crazy so it's definitely a stretch to have one in your ass and one in your pussy. Charles would bring up trying to fit both their cock in just one hole but that idea makes Arthur nervous, he doesn't want to hurt you too bad.
