Book 11 of 2019. A murder mystery. A hot grieving widow. An angry daughter. A lawyer trying to make sense of it all. Pulp fiction is something I want to delve into more in 2019. Starting with Anita, which was fun enough. A short and quick read. Book 120 of 2018. Saturday plans now include staying in bed reading short stories about my beloved city. Can't think of a better way to spend this drizzly day. I have a resolution to explore more of my regional literature in my mother tongue (Malayalam) and not succumb to the translated versions. I read the books in Malayalam at a slower pace and sometimes it takes me a while to understand them especially if the language is difficult. This year I hope to read at least six books and I have read two (Premalekhanam by Basheer and Nalinakaanti by Padmanabhan (reread) in case someone was wondering). The book shown in the picture, Randaamoozham, is much acclaimed but I found it a bit difficult for my level of understanding and abandoned the idea. I would be picking it up some day again. - - I know this applies to a minority of my followers only, but If you have books you have absolutely loved in Mal, let me know in the comments below.
