#reading is hard

This is probably a really stupid thing to beat yourself up about, but I really hate how much I DON’T read. Especially Fanfiction. There are so many things I would love to read, both published works at Fanfiction, but my brain won’t let me because idk it said so. It doesn’t help that I’m a pretty slow reader, but even with the stuff I am actively reading I’ll just put down for a month or two because I have no motivation to read, no matter if I’m enjoying the story or not.

It’s annoying, since I know reading will help me feel motivated to write. It’s something I need to work on I guess. Anyone have any tips?

The ending paragraph of Lolo's interview with Hasan (Waiting for Hasan) shouldn't have given me chills the way it did, maybe, but I still wanna share it in case you haven't read it.

Hasan is a busy guy. His days are full of covering the news, exercise, and running around doing interviews. When I come to visit, I often find myself waiting for him—on the couch, outside his studio, in the car while he finishes a call. It’s a familiar feeling, isn’t it? Like his audience waiting for him to start his stream. Like all of us, waiting for something to give in this chaotic, often hopeless world. But we shouldn’t be waiting. Hasan isn’t the answer. He’s just one part of the equation. The real work—the uncomfortable, relentless, transformative work—is waiting for us. In the end, we’re not really waiting for Hasan. We’re waiting for ourselves to get the courage to do the things we must do for a better future.

Worth reading even though if you watch Hasan's streams he isn't really saying anything you haven't heard it before, but it's a very honest conversation. I like that Lolo didn't hold back from asking uncomfortable questions, but at the same time, the way he writes about Hasan, it's clear that he's fond of him.

Their friendship makes me emotional sometimes, I don't know. But anyway, I like how this ending statement ties up perfectly with the title of the article. Lolo is a good writer (and I love him).

Can someone clear this up for me? I’m a bit confused.

Apparently, Gwyn would never be able to have a satisfying and potentially kinky sexual relationship with Azriel because *trauma*.

But Elain could, even though she was apparently IMMENSELY traumatized by being thrown into some water and being made young and strong and even MORE gorgeous for literal eternity (let me just gather a tear for you, love)… not to mention she blushes at the mere mention of a menstrual cycle.

Shipping Gwyn with Az because she’s a strong warrior woman means that we hate femininity.

But deciding Elain will be a spy with Az only means that she’s strong and capable, but she’ll definitely remain a delicate feminine flower, at the same time.

Gwyn mentioning the Dread Trove to Merrill to try to get more information is “sus”.

But Elain sneaking about town where nobody knows exactly what she’s doing is nothing worth mentioning.

When Gwynriel shippers reference the bonus chapter, it doesn’t mean anything because it’s not actually a “real” chapter.

When Elriel shippers reference the bonus chapter, it means EVERYTHING because the fact that they’re both hot and want to bang clearly means that they’re meant to be together forever. And it’s a VERY REAL CHAPTER.

Make it make sense!
