@ people who use bluesky for art (whether posting your own or just following artists)

how good is it in terms of curating your own space and being able to avoid shit you don't wanna see? would you recommend it for an artist who would rather eat nails and shards of glass than see any kind of drama or shit that's happening in the world?

what i love about Tumblr is how surprisingly great it's been to make my own cozy little corner in the fandom. but i've also been considering making some nsfw art. after months of being confused over whether nsfw is still technically banned or not here, i am confident to announce that i am still very much confused because i see it everywhere (gee it's almost as if censorship does jackshit and just makes it harder for people to avoid what they don't wanna see because everyone's using different tags for nsfw shit so that they don't get banned) BUT, it seems like straight up nsfw art is definitely a no-no.

i am not touching twitter with a 10-foot pole, but i've been curious about bluesky for a while now. like any social media, i have no doubt it's a cesspool. but is the bluesky cesspool at least manageable and can you avoid most algorithm garbage?

feel free to drop other recs for art sites that allow nsfw!

if not bluesky, i'm also considering pixiv since i have experience on there.
