If you’re anything like me it’s hard to stop being afraid of what could go wrong.
You can, though, give mental space to thinking instead of what could go right.

Article of the Day - Yuh Really Going Out Wearing Dat? When Your Inner Critic Sounds Like a Trini Auntie
“Yuh really going out wearing dat?" If you’ve ever heard those words in real life or in your head, you’re not alone.
That sharp, sing-song voice of critique often echoes long after childhood, morphing into our inner critic, especially when we’re trying to be bold, expressive, or different.
In today’s Article of the Day, we explore what happens when your inner critic sounds like a Trini auntie, and how to reclaim your confidence, reframe the commentary and rewrite the script in your head.
It’s time to laugh, reflect and most importantly, liberate yourself from the pressure to conform.

Because for many of us, the critic we hear wasn’t born inside us; it was planted. It was passed down from generations that had to survive, p

Shift Your Mindset, Elevate Your Goals
Your thoughts shape your reality. If self-doubt and negativity creep in, don’t let them take control. Reframe them! Instead of "I’ll never get this right," try "Every step I take is bringing me closer to success."
✨ A mindset shift can turn obstacles into opportunities. ✨
Read more on how to transform negative thoughts into fuel for your goals.
Negative thoughts are like fog on a windshield. They obscure our vision and make the road ahead seem treacherous.
#Fear.
Our little protective mechanism that keeps us safe and right where we are. No one can hurt us here.
However, this can be so #limiting. Fear is important but it should never be the driving factor in our lives. (Except when we're being chased by a bear 🐻 )
What fears arise when you make the decision to board a plane the first time in years, get invited to attend an event with a new group of people, or get offered that new leadership role?
The root is oftentimes "I'm not good enough." "I'm not brave enough". "I don't trust myself"
Insecurity...not believing in ourselves...feeds fear.
You know what will help tackle our #insecurities? Having a little bit of courage to say yes to a new experience. Pushing ourselves just a little bit.
The very thing we're avoiding may actually boost our #confidence.
Every thought you have a thought that comes up along the lines of "For reasons, x, y and z, I shouldn't go/do that thing", challenge them. Are they legitimate? Even if it's a little uncomfortable at first, think about the good that may happen if you do say yes...
Could it be:
🌵 a new friend?
🌵 a new hobby?
🌵 a bigger salary?
🌵 a positive experience?
🌵 an opportunity to grow in some way?
Very likely.
Shift the negative thinking to what could go RIGHT? Rather than what could go WRONG? This is transformative.
I will be practicing this along with you this week as I shift my thoughts from everything I fear related to moving to a new state to thinking about what kind of joy and peace moving to a #beachtown will do for my mind and soul.
I'll keep saying "I've got this" and it'll be wonderful. With a little bit of courage, I can do anything. And so can you. 💪🏽
My Mom’s Sweet and Small Trick Helps Me Enjoy Cleaning | Apartment Therapy
My mom shared this sweet idea a few years ago, and it has changed my whole relationship with cleaning.
That's an intriguing way to "reframe" the thought and chore of cleaning.
Things have to "spark joy" as Marie Condo says.
Flip the Script
❌ - I don’t want to enact the plan I have for tomorrow to test my readiness for going back to work. I’m concerned what the outcome will be either way because I’m worried about going back to work and about not going back to work. I’m resisting it.
✅ - This is information I need to make a more informed decision about whether or not to extend my leave. Knowledge is power and I always feel better when I have solid information/evidence even if it’s not ideal because it is easier to make decisions. I could feel empowered if the day goes well. Be curious because it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
