I loved this idea, but I felt it was a bit too busy for a DTIYS and I wanted my DTIYS to inclusive to everyone / not too challenging-! Don't worry though, I've already started another DTYIS that I think is more fitting ! ദ്ദി ≧ ⠈≦)
I love Renet Tilley in TMNT 2012, but the biggest letdown for her character was when they finally revealed what she looks like without her helmet on and it’s honestly such a big disappointment. Especially when you look at her concept art and what they wanted her hair to look like, my girl was done dirty
Well, today only sketches, without headcanons. Just, i don't know, what talking. LIKE, YES, I HAVE A HEADCANONS, I HAVE MANY PLOTS WITH THEM, but It's hard for me to share this because I feel so ashamed.
Im a minor(u know, ye?), and my ideas of love is silly, and what is happening with my renetangelo is just a little girl's fantasy.
Concepts from fics that either never got posted or were never finished are so interesting to me-
A leader Mikey AU I came up with and- probably- have written somewhere?
I made an au of tmnt where Mikey, still the youngest, was the leader of the Hamato clan. Leo hated it, Donnie was supportive but dissmissive, and Raph just ignored him most of the time.
In the background, there was a building tension of the Shredder. Eventually the two plots of Mikey growing into his leader role and his brothers accepting it, and the Shredder/Hamato plotline would intersect and there would be a big battle.
I had April. Renet and Casey in the Foot clan, and Mikey was, prior to the big battle, pulling them over to the Hamato's side. By the time of the finale, they were prepared to betray Shredder. However, the final battle occured during a recon mission, so no one was prepared for it.
Mikey and Renet died, in order to save Splinter and, finally, put an end to the Shredder.
This was all backstory stuff.
The actual fics would begin a few months after Mikey death. There would be 4 main fics, each with 3 chapters (split into the main titles of each arc).
Leo's fic would detail him coming into his leader role after Mikey's death, and trying to live up to this impossible expectation he's set himself while also grieving and still, to an extent, hating Mikey for being a good leader. April and Casey wouldnt be too involved in this fic as they serve as reminders for what Leo has to live up to so he avoids them fpr the most part.
Donnie's fic would focus on his lack of grief, and how that makes him feel like a bad brother. It would also focus on his dismissive 'support' of Mikey (e.g. he would mindlessly encourage mikey without caring or thinking it was serious), and how he's improved as a sibling via April and Casey.
Raph's fic would focus on his anger at Mikey for dying and leaving the family falling apart. He is also upset that he isnt grieving right, and he's mainly dealing with Casey and April and entertaining them while everyone else refuses to interact with each other.
All these fics would have overlapping plot points (such as a big breakdown scene for Leo (involving a stress induced eating disorder), and Donnie locking himself in his lab) but the biggest one would be Raph using his ninpo for the first time in months (ninpo is the magical family link and Mikey usually aided his brothers with using it- Raph usually used it during emptional scenarios).
While Raph is sparring with a training dummy during a fit of grief, he unintentionally uses his ninpo and sense Mikey, although he is muffled by some sort of barrier that Raph can't reach over.
Mikey's alive.
Let's go back to the big battle- where Renet, Mikey and the Shredder died. Up until this point, it is unclear how Renet joined tje Foot. She has been there for a while (long before April and Casey joined).
Renet is a time traveller from the future sent to prevent Shredder leading the end of the world. April would have been a key feature in this destruction as she was a part-kraang shape shifter. Casey was still a normal kid and April's designated guard.
When Renet joined, she did it with the intent of saving Mikey from dying and therefore stopping the Shredder. She managed both, but didnt keep them in the same timeline.
Mikey did not know Renet was a time traveller. When he got pushed out of his death and into the alternate/parallel universe, Renet didnt follow because of timey wimey stuff, so Mikey was living in an apocalytic world on his own. He found a cat (KLUNK) and began testing ways to return home.
In the meantime, Renet was trying to find Mikey. Eventually she does, and there is a moment where Mikey feels betrayed, and then relieved and then asks questions where we discover the above information.
When theh eventually return back to their original world, it has been a few months since Raph sensed Mikey. As Mikey and Renet have been junping around timeline and universes, he hasnt been on the ninpo radar. The Hamato clan has improved their communication and love for one another.
When Mikey and Renet return, they dont immediately go to the turtles home. There is a new threat arising- Karai, the true leader of the Foot Clan and all its subsects, is leading a charge again New York for killing her uncle. Shinigami and Jennika are the leaders of this charge in New York, and they are responding to orders from Karai in Japan.
Mikey and Renet decide to deal with this before getting their siblings involved.
Jennika would be Karai's direct second in command and assistant. She was sent along with Shinigami to New York to observe Shini.
Karai's backstory would have involved Tang Shen and Splinter. If I remember correctly, Splinter died, and Tang Shen joined the foot clan while Karai was a child. Karai's father employed Tang Shen to care for her. Tang Shen would do so while also creating a new body to host Splinter soul (Hamato magic again). When Karai's fatger dicovered this, he killed Tang Shen, but not before she gave Splinter a new body (his rat form). Karai would overthrow her father as a result of this and vastly improved Foot Clan operations.
When her uncle dies, and she recieves correspondence that talking mutant turtles killed him, she decides that the New York division is insane and must be replaced. Mikey and Renet return while this is in progress and work on keeping Shini and Jenny off their siblings lair. This works for the remainder of the year (approx 1.5 months) before the lair is compromised and they have to evacuate it.
REUNION BETWEEN LOST FAMILY. This is followed swiftly by an evacuation to Mikey and Renet's home- a repurposed warehouse.
They defeat Karai with the power of friendship and everything is great! Karai finds out that Splinter is her psuedo father and also why Tang Shen died and has mixed feelings. Mikey and Renet start dating. The future is saved. Its all great and grand.
Yeah tbats my fic idea. If i ever get around tk typing it up i will probably post it but i am in the depths of batfam rn
Headcanon: I like to think that sometimes, when Mikey feels sad and one of the few rare times he questions if things will get better or if everything is just gonna collapse, he will find a note of sorts. He immediately lits up with happiness when he realizes it's from Renet and gets happy when she writes encouraging and comforting words. She's a time master who can see into the future, why wouldn't he trust her word? Renet on the other hand, likes to sometimes take a peak at what Mikey is doing if she misses him or is just thinking about him. She likes sending him notes to keep in contact.
I never really talk about this and if I did it is pretty rare but, Renetengelo is actually my favorite ship in the 2012 series. While I mostly draw Ramona and at times my ship Scarlet x Leo, Renetengelo is the one that truly takes the cake. I just love wholesome couples <3
