Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a WIP you abandoned. Sometimes the idea needs a different set of characters or a different setting.
An addition:
Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a project you already completed. Sometimes ideas really are just that good and deserve to be used more than once.

There was recently a copyright infringement case in YA and I need everyone to know that the following sentence was in the legal decision:

Meet cute where A is a barista who opens the store and B is a customer who comes in every morning and orders a cup of whipped cream with salted caramel syrup and a croissant to eat and then a salted caramel frappe to go and A complains to C everyday about B's order. D, A's coworker, notices that when A is late, B will wait for A to come in to order. One time, C comes into the cafe to bother A at work and meets D who tells C this tidbit of knowledge. B eventually asks A out via a physical letter in an envelope with flowers and a reference to some niche conversation about a show A and D had while at the till. B watched the show purely because of A. A, who grown fond of B, proceeds to call C and freak out about the letter. It's very romatic and funny and fun and they do get together. Fun romance. A can be really easily embarrased but confident with strangers. B is a huge personality who flirts unapologetically once they start dating. Its a fun dynamic and D and C bond over their mutual hatred of the mushiness A and B have.
