But even when you're desperate to escape your old mundane life, adjusting to living in a fictional reality is no easy feat—especially when you have your own set of mental health issues to cope with. With that said, though... it is nice to be hugged by your favourite fictional characters.

Replaying 707’s route and thinking about the tragic reset theory…

I hate that reset theory so does it makes me a masochist for drawing about a subject that pains me?

More seriously, I always wanted to avoid drawing something related to this theory as it will undoubtedly make me sad afterwards (I am a very emotional kind of human) but the idea inspired me too much so I did it.

The lineart isn't clean because I thought it would add something to the drawing... It kinda gives life to the drawing don't you think? I am lying, I was just too lazy to do the lineart. Lololol

reset theory au but the only self aware character is elizabeth the third

She noticed the subtle changes that occurred in the penthouse. Even though she was just a cat, there was always this feeling that her days were spent living the same cycle over and over again. Elizabeth was always very in tune with her environment as her human took great care to always have her around. 

Sometimes it would bring a charming new member of her family with Jumin into her life, and other times nothing would be changed in the slightest. That human that popped in and out of her life was always kind and very sweet. 

Whether they seemed to be close to Jumin or not... and Elizabeth liked their company as it happened. She was picky about her humans... Seven wasn’t her favorite human because he was always too affectionate and never listened to her warning hiss. 

Zen was nice but he always skittered away before she could see him. Yoosung was a nice boy who always brought her a treat! Jaehee was easy to tease and torment for fun. Jihyun was always kind enough to give her a gentle nudge. Now and again, she would interact with someone that looked like Seven but treated her kindly... 

However, her favorite was Jumin, of course, who always understood her heart and her needs. 

But you... the newest human that she had come to know, you were something special. Yet, you seemed to be trapped. The days that were the same that you lived over and over again did not seem to phase you, and every time you met for the hundredth time, you would seem like it was the first. It didn’t make any sense but—

Perhaps, time was skewed because she was simply a cat. 

She wasn’t sure what her humans were going through in their lives because they kept rounding the same problems and the same issues. No amount of nudging her head against Jumin’s hand when he was talking about the same problem that he had been the last time did much to change things at hand. 

She knew all he was to say... 

But, he would never know that because she was a cat. A few mews didn’t do all that much for them in the way of understanding. it hurt to see her humans so distressed and upset. There wasn’t much she could do, but she did settle by Jumin’s side when a weight hung heavy on his chest. 

She provided comfort as she could, knowing that the love given to her could be returned tenfold to the humans she loved the most. It wasn’t much in the long run but Elizabeth knew that even if her humans were living in a ridiculous circle, she would love them regardless.

Mystic Messenger Theory: Saeran/Ray Created Another Story

So I’ve sort of had this theory in my head for a long time now (years actually) and I just decided to actually write it down. Bare with me, I don’t know how to use tumblr and there will be alot of screenshots.

Keep in mind this theory integrates other theories: The Reset Theory where the game is a time loop and each route in the game is a seperate timeline, certain characters retaining their memories. The Cheritz Multiverse Theory is that Mystic Messenger is connected to Chertiz's previous games: Dandelion and Nameless. There were other posts made about these theories and I highly recommend reading them, especially MeliZbeauty’s theories on YouTube, to have a better idea on what I’m talking about.

I have to preface that It's been so long since I’ve played certain parts of the game so if I got something wrong, please let me know! (spoilers for the Valentine’s Day and April Fool’s DLC and possibly more). 

Some Background

If you know about the game Dandelion you will know about the existence of beings called wizards. They grant desperate wishes to humans in exchange for their memories. In Dandelion and Nameless it had the same wizard appear in the games, and he hosted games that the main characters of the game had to participate in. For Mystic Messenger, though, it is a completely new wizard. This was hinted at in Saeyoung’s Valentine’s day DLC and then eventually explicitly revealed in the April Fool’s day DLC that the wizard is 707. 

Well, to be more specific this wizard created Saeyoung and is like a self insert, speaking through him. We can see throughout the game Saeyoung says he doesn’t put his real self in games he has created. The entire Mystic Messenger universe was created by this wizard for the purpose of collecting memories (the hourglasses). He created the rest of the RFA, who are all AIs that follow a script, and things only go wrong in some bad endings where they become self aware (one of the common route endings comes to mind).

The Valentine’s Day DLC is important, as it implies that this wizard speaking through Saeyoung is leaving, and that we will meet again ‘in another universe’. Though he is leaving, he still left things behind: presents that we received from him throughout the DLC and more importantly: Saeran. He is also an AI created by the wizard, and it is implied that in the dark chocolate ending the person with MC is not Saeyoung but possibly Saeran. One of the dialogue options says that the person standing in front of MC feels like a completely different person. 

If reading through all that confused you here's the main point of that exposition TL;DR: wizard leaves the Mystic Messenger universe for good and leaves MC in Saeran’s hands.

Now we will get to the actual theory.

Saeran Created Another Story

So, I wanted to talk about how AS fits into Mystic Messenger’s overall story. As we know, it's an alternate universe from the casual and deep story since it takes place 6 months after Rika’s ‘disappearance’ as opposed to 2 years in CS and DS. But that's not what's so interesting about AS. The wizard said he left for good in the Valentine’s Day DLC, but now two new routes are created? And on top of that more DLC and after endings to boot. If it's not the wizard creating these routes then who is it? That's where Saeran/Ray comes in.

The beginning of AS hints blatantly at the RFA being AIs, Ray telling the MC that she is testing a game app and that all the people in it are not real. In the game's surface story it turns out that Ray lied about the app, but when you look at the AS common bad ending you can interpret some hidden meaning from what Ray says. I will provide screenshots to show some of the dialogue here:

At this point, this is before Ray tells MC that he lied to her about the app being a video game, that happens after you finish the AS common route. Even so, if you read all of that you can tell that this goes beyond just being “Ray lied to MC about the app to get her to Mint Eye”. When Ray accuses MC of playing Saeyoung’s version of the game, he is probably referring to the other stories: Casual and Deep Story. The ones Saeyoung, the wizard, created. 

In addition, there are several points in AS common route and the main menu (when you see random members of the RFA say comments on the top of the screen) Saeran said he thought he hacked everyone thoroughly, which would include Saeyoung. After all, even though the wizard is gone, the shell of the AI he talked through still remains, so Saeran can just hack the AI to do and say what he wished - including the rest of the RFA.

So all of Another Story was created by Saeran/Ray. But wait, Isn’t he also an AI? The universe this wizard created seems to work more like technology rather than magic, what with everyone being AIs. It's possible that Saeran hacked and changed the environments and people to suit his script. If he is now the person creating After Story being able to do all these things are necessary. 

Now what would Saeran’s motive be for all this? That's simple:

He just wants to make us happy.

Okay, I have never written a theory before and honestly this feels like a mess but I wanted to get my thoughts out. If you read this far, thank you! 

Honestly I wanted to include more screenshots from the April Fool’s DLC. Seriously, that DLC is like a gold mine for Cheritz fans that love the hidden lore in the games (while also being funny). Also, did not touch on V and Rika because I feel that this post is long enough xD

Something was nagging at the back of your mind. Like a warning. Nothing immediately sprang to mind. Were you forgetting something.

And suddenly you knew. Your eyes widened in shock. ‘I’m no longer needed...’ This is both a happy and terrible realization. They face you smiling and what fear you had ebbs away. ‘As long as you’re happy.’

They may not remember and that is okay. You will remember for them. ‘I’ll always be here, as long as you need me.’

A thousand and one things you wanted to say. And none passed your lips. Instead you just smiled at them and waved. And then... you faded.
