Your vegan diet would kill me. I have to eat a very specific diet, and it doesn't include fucking beans. I have to get my protein from animal products. There is no low-fiber alternative.
I have Hashimoto's, gastroparesis, GERD, gastritis, and NAFLD. I am medically required to stick to a restrictive low-fat, low-fiber diet free of Cruciferous vegetables, or I get sick: insomnia, electrolyte imbalances, vomiting, agonizing pain, explosive diarrhea, malnutrition, dehydration, etc. that can lead to life-threatening complications like heart arrhythmias. Give me the chicken and rice.
I don't care about your vegan diet. Chronically ill people with the conditions listed in this post or in the video don't want to hear about it. There are NO healthy chronically ill vegans with those diagnoses. Not one. Veganism is NOT an option for a LOT of sick people. Many of us have medically restricted diets.
Veganism is NOT universally safe, nor is it a treatment for disease. For many groups, it worsens symptoms and increases the risk of complications.
Moreover, veganism is NOT inherently healthier for people without medical conditions either. The protein found in plant sources is harder to absorb, and meat protein has a complete amino acid profile, while plant protein does not. You have to eat a lot more plant protein to absorb the same amount you'd get from meat protein, and you have to eat a wide variety of plants to get all necessary amino acids.
A well-rounded vegan diet that delivers adequate protein and amino acids requires a lot of effort and education that often is not enough even for healthy people. Heart health may be better among vegans, but nutrient deficiencies are common.
Stop giving unsolicited diet and medical advice to strangers. You aren't a doctor. You aren't qualified. You don't know their diagnoses and health history. And nobody asked you.
