Literally love your fics. Your fics are my fix. I check everyday to see if you posted bro. Hugs and kisses and money on the sidewalk to you.
Anyway, I was wondering if you’d write a sort of role reversal type oneshot? I see Bucky losing his shit when reader is kidnapped, but what about the other way around?
I’d love to see a very strong and level headed reader completely crash out at Bucky being held hostage by some evil organization, and completely disregarding all safeguards and just mowing down anyone who gets in her way. Maybe Bucky swooning a little.
I need him to be my damsel.
They take him on a Tuesday.
It’s supposed to be routine—recon, extraction, home by dinner. Bucky kisses your temple in the quinjet doorway, metal fingers warm at your jaw, and says, “Don’t wait up, doll.”
You don’t.
Because by hour six, something is wrong.
By hour ten, the comms are dead.
By hour twelve, Fury is in your ear using words like containment and protocol and wait for clearance, and something inside your chest goes dangerously, violently quiet.
You don’t cry.
You don’t scream.
You don’t argue.
You smile.
And that’s when everyone should’ve started running.
---
The facility is off the books, concrete and steel buried like a tumor beneath a dead industrial park. You don’t request backup. You don’t submit a plan. You land hard, roll once, and come up firing before the dust even settles.
Guards drop like punctuation marks—brief, final.
By the time anyone realizes who you are, you’re already inside.
Doors? You blow through them.
Safeguards? You override them.
Orders? You ignore them.
Your arm band flashes warnings you don’t read. Someone yells your name in your comms—Steve, maybe—but the only thing you hear is the memory of Bucky’s laugh when you steal his fries, the weight of his arm slung over your shoulders at night, the way he goes soft only with you.
---
They put him in a chair.
Restrained. Bruised. Blood at his hairline, lip split, eyes sharp but tired.
Still alive.
Still yours.
The first man between you and him reaches for a weapon.
He never finishes the motion.
You move like a force of nature. The kind of precision that comes from loving something so deeply it rewires your spine. The room fills with the sound of bodies hitting the floor, and through it all, Bucky watches you like he’s seeing you for the first time.
You tear the restraints apart with your bare hands.
“Hey,” you say softly, cradling his face like he’s made of glass instead of vibranium and rage. “I’ve got you.”
His breath stutters.
“You weren’t supposed to—” he starts, voice rough, guilt already trying to surface.
You press your forehead to his. “Shh. I don’t care.”
You scoop him up—bridal style, no hesitation. His metal arm curls instinctively around your neck, his face tucking into your shoulder like it’s muscle memory.
Someone down the hall screams for reinforcements.
You smile again.
The extraction is less an exit and more a massacre. You don’t slow down for alarms. You don’t flinch at explosions. You walk through fire with Bucky held tight against your chest, shielding him with your body like the world itself has made a terrible mistake by touching what’s yours.
On the quinjet, the moment the doors seal, the adrenaline drains.
Bucky cups your face, thumbs brushing under your eyes. “You’re shaking.”
You shrug. “Crash came a little late.”
He laughs—soft, stunned, a little breathless. Then he leans in and kisses you like he’s still making sure you’re real. Like he needs to ground himself in you.
“I always thought,” he murmurs, forehead pressed to yours, “if anyone ever took me… it’d be Steve losing his mind.”
You arch a brow. “Please. He’d file paperwork.”
Bucky snorts, then grows serious. “You didn’t hesitate.”
“Nope.”
“You didn’t wait.”
“Absolutely not.”
“You broke every rule.”
You grin. “Happily.”
Something warm and dizzy spreads across his face—pride, awe, something dangerously close to swooning. “Remind me never to be on your bad side.”
You kiss his knuckles. “You’re not.”
He exhales, melting into you, head dropping to your shoulder again. “Guess I was the damsel this time.”
You tighten your hold, smirking. “And you looked real pretty doing it.”
His laugh is quiet, wrecked, and completely in love.

My Reverse Robins AU
Lore & design & notes below
Batman is tough and brutal, lead by his grief for his parents. Damian comes to him the same way at age 9, believing that he is the heir to the cowl and with hos visions of what the Bat is. Bruce first refuses to bring a child into his crusade but Damian follows anyway, and Bruce is forced to give him a costume to be safe. Damian choses the name Batboy. Bruce isnt as open as Damian is not Dick and isn't able to lighten Bruce in the same way, so the father/son bond never properly forms. Damian never learns to be human cuz Bruce doesnt know how to be human but he teaches him his philosophy of not killing but that's about it. Batman and Batboy are a lethal duo but as Batboy is a shadow most of gotham doesnt know that he exists, a fact Damian is adamant to chance to advertise his place in the line, starting with Gordon and the GCPD.
As year go on, Damian learns that Batman isnt the strong fatal god-like soldier he learned him to be, distracting himself with the pleasantries of Brucie Wayne and not dedicating himself fully to the mission and Damian sees it, as well as forcing him to hold back, not training him as far as Damian thinks he should, the reson why he came to gotham. Bruce tries benching Batboy many times until the final straw hits and he leaves to find his way back home to the LoA and discover his true, lethan potential at the ripe age of 14. His mother gives him a devistated look he does not understand but takes him back in (in what damian doesnt realise is) in secret from his grandfather. Damian believes himself to be the rightful Batman, the current Batman needing a rebirth and it is his role as his blood son to be that rebirth, symbolically bathing himself in the lazarus pit by donning the costume of The Green Bat.
Back in gotham, Bruce is looking for his son relentlessly. This is when he finds a homeless cassandra cain, 16yrs old. Brcue takes her in teaching her to speak and she strongly believes in the mission. He offers her a peaceful life but she cannot take that. She adopts the name Orphan. Bruce is brutal and often hòspitalises enemies and cass doesnt like that, at 19 she leaves to execute the mission in Bludhaven.
All these years bruce is unable to find Damian. Jon Kent even joins him, having just come back from a space mission which de-aged him back to when him and Damian first became friends. Damian, watching from the LoA, 17 years old discovers Cass and resents her. He had ward of the weapon girl often from his trainers and even sparred with her a few times when they were little, always having lost. He hates how she took his position with Batman too.
Duke is in the foster system, having never been taken in by Bruce, instead using his powers to help the people around him (sometimes from the rooftops you could see a spark of light coming from alleyways)
Tim Drake is a young boy obsessed with Batman, always following him with his camera and one of the only few people in gotham to know of Batboy's existance, and more importantly, his dissapearance. He begins to investigate, making his own makeshift batboy costume to try get into his mind, scouring the rooftops of gotham. He gains a lead when he is intercepted by an 18yr old Orphan. She knows of Batboy but never met him, so brings him back to the cave where Bruce unmasks Tim and Tim tells Batman that he things Damian is with the LoA. Bruce thinks its a misconception at first that Tim must have mixed up the fact that Damian came from there, but it is worth a shot following. Cass obviously doesnt want to return so Bruce decides to go alone but Cass refuses him to. Tim knows they have to save Batboy and offers to help.
Tim gets a proper Batboy costume and trains, making a wonderful name for himself, Gotham knows well who he is. Tim doesn't know Bruce's identity, he leaves Drake Manor every night as his parents often aren't there to train. Tim also becomes well known in the league, a privalige Damian didn't know, and more thoughrouly establishes the idea of sidekicks, becomes friends with more heroes his age.
During this time, Damian relises the confines of the LoA. He was protected, but he was being counter productive and he leaves the league to go teach Batman how he should opperate. He returns to gotham to see another boy in his Batboy costume and continuously antagonises Tim over the next few years, resenting him and desperately wanting his place back against Batman's side. Ti fights back consistently. Brcue is happy to have his son back but Dmaian crashes out on him, though he does continue to opperate in gotham and the Green Bat. Gotham thinks that this green bat is Batman's brother.
Tim becomes friends eith a girl a year younger than him going by Spoiler who's goal is to get back at her father Cluemaster. After a couple years, Batman, Green Bat, Batboy and Spoiler opperating in Gotham and Orphan in Bludhaven, Tim is having feelings about being inferior to Damian. His dad discovers that he is Batboy, forcing him to quit, where Steph becomes Batboy (or girl or little bat depending on what the crooks decide to call her). She gets fired and decides to employ a plan that will end the criminal underworld, though it relies on Matches Malone meeting someone in Arkham. As it doesnt happen, gotham shuts down and a breakout happens, the criminal underworld is in shambles and the shooting happens at Tim's school. He reconciles with his dad and takes up Batboy again but soon after, his dad is taken and killed by Black Mask who is working with the Joker, Tim goes after them. As the dust settles on the afternath of the war, Tim is nowhere to be seen, last seen by Steph being taken away by the Joker. Bruce grieves another missing son, Damian doesnt know how to feel, Orphan grieves a brother who often visited her in Bludhaven, changing her costume and title to the Black Bat, Steph is devistated. She connects with his old friends and they form the Young Justice in his memory.
Jason Todd is an Orphan boy on the streets, trying to get by vy stealing the tires off the batmobile. Bruce, having lost his son and it being the anniversary of his parent's death, surprisingly is moved bt the action and laughs, taking Jason home. Jason is stunned by the money and big life and takes batboy on readily. He confides in Bruce, the man who took him in, that he wants to find his birth mother and Bruce not wanting to lose him, takes him to Ethiopia. Green Bat tags along to keep an eye on the boy though they don't talk at all, Black Bat taking care of Gotham in the meantime. Jason finds Sheila, Joker lures him out and they find her dead in the warehouse where Joker Junior comes out. Damian and Bruce are shocked, Jason doesn't really care as he never knew Tim, Bruce sweeps them out, leaving JJ behind.
Get home, year go on, more encounters with JJ, Steph takes the mantle of Orphan for a bit, YJ is running well, JJ asks why Bruce didn't look for him, Bruce cannot answer, why couldn't Bruce let him stay a civillian? He asks, this wouldn't have happened to him otherwise. Bruce captures him and puts him in a cell in the batcave, attempting to return him back to Tim and give him his civillian life back. Damian regrets treating him wrong and takes it on himself to help him. Life goes on.
Babs is a young girl inspired to help, inspired by spoiler/little bat, becomes batgirl and meets Cass who is visiting Gotham. The three become their own little family. She works in gotham as bludhaven is too far away to go every night. Bruce doesn't know her civillian ID but she tells Cass. Bruce knew Gordon, abd thus his wife, before she died. Sometimes babs will ask about her when her dad refuses to.
One clearer minded day, Tim asks Bruce to go to the circus, he was infatuated with a trapeaze act he saw online. The Graysons fall and Bruce takes the 8yr old Dick Grayson in. The boy is depressed but it isnt long before he find the batcave. Jason refuses to give up Batboy but that doesnt Matter because Dick wants to be Robin anyway. Dick bonds well with Bruce.
Damian visits Cass in Bludhaven to follow a lead on a case. Their relationship is weird. He wanted Batman to be stronger, relentless, she wanted Batman to be gentler, more compassionate. It looks like Dick is turning him towards the latter.
Bruce is killed by Darkseid. Damian takes up the Batman cowl reluctantly despite this having been his goal his whole life, he doesn't know how to feel, but who will be there to watch JJ? Dick knows Tim to fluctuate and never ve the same, so does Jason. Damian knows what Tim was like which is why, when Tim blabbers about Bruce still being alive, Damian hears the echoes of how Tim once was and doesn't know what to do but shut him up.
Jason has bonded well with Tim. Jason doesn't care much for Dick, seeing him as having stole all the attention from Bruce qho he sees as his saviour. Tim is infatuated with Dick, Dick plays with him but finds him weird. Steph visits Tim occasionally, mostly really spending her time with the YJ, gets kind of upset as she knows that Tim will never be like he was when looking for Damian all those years ago but it's not the same now.
Tim breaks out and takes Jason, who understands not being heard and they retrieve Bruce from the timestream.
While they're doing that, Dick cracks Damian down, teaching him how to be human, which he had never learned from Bruce. The become inseperable, Damian teaches Dick how to channel his paralysing grief for his parents and for Bruce while Dick teaches Damian how to love life (and animals) and art as he asks him to help redesign the Robin suit as he grows out his old one. At this time, Dick befriends Babs who is abyear younger than him and gets to know Cass as an extension. Dick meets other young heroes his age and when they grow a bit, they form the Teen Titans.
Throughout the many years, Duke joins the "we are Batboy(/girl/bats)" movement and uses his powers for good, opperating occasionallu with the bats recieving training from them, and especially with Jason, the current Batboy and who also understands what it's like to be a street kid, being by Duke's side as he knows what it's like to lose parents (and family) to the Joker.
Aliases: Ages high -> low (previous)
Bruce=Batman, Cass=Black Bat (Orphan), Damian=Green Bat (batboy), Duke=Signal, Tim=Joker Junior (batboy), Steph=Spoiler (Orphan, Little Bat), Jason=Batboy, Dick=Robin, Babs=batgirl
Costumes & Notes:
Any costume not there assume it is the same as in canon comics, ei cass' costumes, spoiler, signal, babs' batgirl (which was her rebranding and original take of the title, not to be confused with steph's little bat. Red Hood and Nightwing don't exist in this universe, at least not until they grow up.
These all kinda suck cuz after drawing the Green Bat i just gave up
Damian, Batboy. He was pretty unimaginative back then, as heir to the Batman title, Batboy just made sense. The costume is practical but with a pop of colour to train him to sneak better.
Damian, The Green Bat. In the LoA he had the all green costume but has never been fond of green, it was a symbol and tied with him his whole life. When Tim returns as JJ is around the time Damian switches to the grey variants. Gotham thinks that the red costume is a different person but even in that costume he still goes by Green Bat as the branding is so instilled in him. The ears are more horn shaped as he's the som of the demon and the eyes have a green glow LED. Otherwise mimicks the Batman costume but with his mother's more slender body.
Tim Drake, Batboy. Being the one to bring the most iconic parts of Robin in canon, Tim brings the detail of the emblem at the chest of the costume. The logo on the belt is now a much more vibrant blue. The shoulder, arm and knee pads are inspired by his love for skateboarding as well as provide protection. Otherwise the costume remains the same, also not the most imaginative and is just happy to be a Batboy that he once idolised.
Tim Drake, Joker Junior. Inspired by the circus act he is so invested in, he takes up the Grayson's colours, them having given him inspiration in his darkest times. Though he also has the Joker's purple, a constant reminder of what made him this way, but also likes to think of it as Steph's purple. He has permanent neon green strikes in his hair and bleach-like pale skin, paler than before, as well as permanent purple bruises under his eyes. The logo mimicks a circus tent as well as a joker smile. When Dick sees the resemblence, he cries and distances himself from Tim for a while before he understands and uses it to bond. Tim isn't really let out of the Manor but on ocassion he is let out on patrol, however he is too unstable for civillian life he has always wanted from before he even became Batboy, and if Joker or Black Mask or anything too high level shows up on the field, Robin is tasked with bringing him straight home.
Steph, Little Bat / Batboy / Batgirl. Elements of the 90's era Spoiler suit such as the covered face, though the top is visible here, as well as elements of her canon Robin suit. She continues the chest emblem of the top half of the bat logo, hair out, her headband has bat ears instead of devil horns. The cape is entirely purple rather than the back being a dark blue while the inside being vibrant. Her Orphan design is the same costume as Cass' canon Orphan.
Jason, Batboy. He doesn't change much. Takes the original cape, keeps the chest emblem and details and the practicality of the previous suits. Happy to be Batboy doesn't matter what costume he is in. In some universe he was put in green scaly panties and he was fine with that. The front of his hair has always been a tad lighter but was never bleached white by the pit in canon.
