Sooooooo by now you have heard that Rick is release new book, Camp Half-Blood: The Wild Zone. To say I am excited would be an understatement, after I saw the article and read Rick's blog post (where he is interviewed by Percy, it is really fun you guys should read it) I could barely go to sleep last night.
It is a really interesting premise, and I'm so excited to that he is partnering with a diverse group of authors to write the authentic experience of all the diverse characters in the book. He arguabley should have done that in Heroes of Olympus series but since then has made moves like co authoring in the sun and the star and promoting rick riordan presents to authenticate the diversity in his books. It and he are by no means perfect but it is leagues ahead of ahem… some other authors.
All that being said Rick has put me in a bit of a pickle here. The new series of books takes place between The Lightning Thief and the Sea of Monsters, the two books I am trying to write AU Cassie's pov fanfic about. I want my fanfic to be somewhat canon compliant and spent so much time working on the timeline of cap on to get that right (Let me know if you guys ever wanna see my timeline I worked very hard on it.
I have already worked out Cassie's plot but these new books might throw a wrench in those plans. I don't think they will but who knows. I'm gonna continue with my original plan and if something changes it'll edit and find some way to incorporate it. Weather Cassie will show up in future fanfic of these books is TBD but honestly this might be a Rogue One situation were everyone dies out side of the main plot but still effects it and I'll just leave it at that.
Since Rick said that these new books with feature a lot of Clarisse and the Ares cabin I might center Markus in any fanfic I write about the Camp Half-Blood books. I still am working on his back story so maybe these new books will help me figure him out more.
Anyway just stay tuned for any changes but we're just gonna keep chugging along!
