Hey all! Leanna and I are back from vacation and tying up lose ends in the shop! I just got a fresh lot of these in! This is called Riebeckite in quartz from  Zagi Mountain, Pakistan! This is the best one in the bunch and it’s for sure a collector piece for a mineral lover! These inclusions have a blue hue and are so dreamy 😍 DM me if you’re interested in this one and later this week I’ll be showing some other smaller ones! .

FACT: While there is, as I mentioned a few years back, a gene called Sonic Hedgehog, the gene in question may very well end up being renamed. Mutations in this gene can cause a disorder called holoprosencephaly, where the forebrain fails to properly separate into two hemispheres; given that most cases of this disorder result in fetal death in utero, there has been serious discussion of changing the gene’s name to something a little less awkward to discuss with grieving parents.
