001. CEILINGS, PLASTER, CAN’T YOU MAKE IT MOVE FASTER? LOVELY TO BE SITTING HERE WITH YOU. YOU’RE KIND OF CUTE.
You sat at the doctor’s office with your feet cemented to the ground and your eyes trained on the cracks between the cement stones, afraid that if you looked up the pain that originated in your eyebrows and wound its way to the top of the back of your neck would hit you tenfold.
It had started early that morning, awaking you from your slumber. You were sure it was just another migraine which would go away on its own. But no, the pain grew and dots floated around your vision.
Headaches were nothing new to you. You had suffered from them often, a chronic condition. You had medicine from the doctor to try and make it better. But you had been neglecting taking them, or refilling you prescription when your current medicine pack had run out.
Sure, it was self-inflicted. But that knowledge didn’t make the pain any better.
You sighed, your head pounding and your eyes stinging with unshed tears. You wanted nothing more than to go back home and sleep it off, but your all too loving boyfriend, Anton, was having none of it and demanded (more like forced) you to go visit the doctor.
Anton sat with his warm hand holding yours, his thumb rubbing lazy circles over the skin of the back of your hand as you both waited for the receptionist to call your name so you could pick up the prescription and go back home to sleep it off some.
For the recent months that you two had been dating, he had always noticed you never slept well and so if he could do just one thing to try and help you out, no matter how big or small, he was going to do it regardless of if you found it a waste of his time or not.
You had told him off countless times before for it. But sometimes, his perception and kindness was silently appreciated more than you could ever admit.
In the mornings, you placed your mug in the sink with the silent promise to wash it once you finished your shower. But when you went back to the sink, he would have already washed it and put it away for you.
He got the chicken out of the freezer the night before and put it in the fridge to slowly defrost for the following night’s dinner menu.
All small acts, all adding up to his love for you.
Finally the woman behind the desk called your name, but you were too dizzy to stand. As if Anton could sense the swirling feeling in your head—as if he had some kind of superpower to detect how you were feeling—he stood and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead before he dropped your hand so he could walk to the counter and collect the medicine for you.
For the briefest of seconds, you felt the cold hit you more than expected. The absence of him hurt you to your core, but you knew it was only going to last for just a few seconds. You could bear it for those few seconds, you silently convinced yourself.
Before you knew it, he walked back over to you and crouched down, his hands on your knees as he smiled softly at you.
Despite trying to reassure you everything was okay, his ears turned red from the way your eyes stared into his.
You couldn’t stop the smile, despite the pain behind your eyebrows that felt as if your brain was being rattled by a pickaxe.
“Let’s get you home, yeah?” He sounded sweet, gentle, as if trying to coax a screaming child to calm down. His smile remained just as soft as you nodded your head in agreement.
His hands took yours as he helped you to stand. He wrapped his arm around your waist to keep you steady, helping you out of the doctors office and into a car.
As he pulled your seatbelt to ensure your safety, that was the moment you realised you loved him.
002. BUT IT’S RAINING HARDER, MY SHOES ARE NOW FULL OF WATER. LOVELY TO BE RAINED ON WITH YOU. IT’S KINDA CUTE.
You giggled at something he had commented on as you sat on the bench under the blossom tree, your eyes adjusting to the sudden lighting change just as the sun hid behind the growing mass of dark clouds that were beginning to form above your head.
You looked up at them with mild concern. But you tried your best to push the thought away, the weather app had promised a weekend full of sunshine, no chance of rain.
But as the clouds seemed to swarm together, you had begun to think that whoever was in charge of updating the weather app on your phone had clearly missed a memo or two.
You turned your head to watch Anton, his own smile just as wide and as love-drunk as yours.
He was so beautiful that sometimes, you couldn’t imagine a man like him would ever give a woman like you a chance. He was perfect, the kind of man everyone adored and wanted in their life in some kind of way.
From the way he smiled, to the way he spoke gently. From the way he listened to your every word, to the way he just always wanted to be holding onto you. Everything about him was perfect. Everything about him had become everything you had found you had always needed without knowing.
You sighed happily, angling your body slightly to face him. He sat on the other side of the bench, turning his own body to face you—to show you that you had his undivided and full attention—always.
“You can be quite fun sometimes, you know,” He joked, causing you to roll your eyes and throw a discarded leaf that sat on the bench between you in his direction.
“You’re the one who asked me out, remember,” You retorted.
She remembered it like it had been yesterday. The sincere look on his face, the slight rosiness to his cheeks and ears as he pushed himself out of his comfort zone. The way he even offered you a bouquet of flowers, regardless of what your answer might have been.
He was such a sweetheart. He really did deserve the whole world. But he thought the same of you, too.
You continued to tease, “So clearly you have some kind of interest in me, even if I am a boring old woman who sits at home most days instead of living it up with you party-going youngsters,” You defended yourself, to which his smile turned from playful to sugary sweet.
That was the smile that could make you fold every time. Any time he wanted something, he just had to play his cards right and show you that smile. And then boom, he got his way.
“That’s what I enjoy most about you, seeing you in that stupid oversized jumper and sweatpants during movie nights,” He joked.
But then his smile dropped slightly, his eyes intense as he stared at your face for several seconds in silence. It felt as if he were trying to commit your face to memory, as if he would never see you again.
“You always look pretty to me,” His voice became a whisper at the end. You had mistaken your boyfriend as trying to butter you up, to which you could only return his gesture with an eyeroll.
But he meant the words he said.
You were the most beautiful woman in the world to him.
No other woman could ever measure up.
As if right on cue, there was a loud cracking sound as if the heavens opened up and rain poured down heavily over your romantic moment with Anton.
You gasped, rushing to stand up.
He let out a loud laugh at your reaction, watching as your eyes and mouth opened wide in shock as you cursed the forecast that had promised a glorious day full of sunshine.
You glared at him for a moment, but then you felt the potential anger wash away with the rain as he stared at you with puppy-dog eyes and the softest of smiles you had ever seen on another human being before.
Your lips turned up in a smile as you grabbed his hand and pulled him to stand.
He was taller than you, so as if it were a natural reaction, he wrapped his arms around your shoulders and pulled you body against his in a tight hug as he moved his head to press a kiss to the top of your forehead.
Neither of you cared that you were getting wet. You just basked in one another’s embrace as you let the heavens cast their waters down on you both.
That was the moment you realised you wanted to be with him for the rest of your life.
003. BUT IT’S SO SHORT, THEN YOU’RE DRIVING ME HOME AND I DON’T WANNA LEAVE BUT I HAVE TO GO. YOU KISS ME IN YOUR CAR AND IT FEELS LIKE THE START OF A MOVIE I’VE SEEN BEFORE.
The car was tense as he pulled up to your apartment complex car park.
Your body remained angled towards the car door, while your boyfriend's hand, which usually found home on you thigh as he drove, remained in limbo, stuck to his steering wheel.
You made no effort to get out of the car. You wanted to make things right before you left for fear that if you didn’t talk it through, things would become bitter between the two of you.
Anger should never be left to fester between couples, your mother had told her an hour earlier when you called her while panicking, while your boyfriend was too busy with everyone else. He hadn’t even noticed you sneaking off. Or so you thought.
Despite knowing what was the right thing to do, on the other hand, you were known for being somewhat strong headed, and you were determined he was the one in the wrong. You wanted him to make it right—to apologise.
“Are you just going to sit here all night, or are you getting out?” He asked, his voice sounding a little harsher than you were used to. His voice still sounded soft, but there was a bite behind them, something you had never heard from him before.
You blinked, begging the tears not to fall as you feared the beginning of the end had begun its course.
You wrapped your arms around your body, nodding before you finally sucked in a breath. You let go of yourself and reached for the door handle, but then his hand stopped your actions as he reached across and stopped you from pulling the handle.
“You can’t just sit in silence and expect me to be okay with everything the second you get out of my car. Are you going to tell me what that outburst was about? I thought we were having a great night?” His lips pouted. Despite knowing he was likely disappointed in you, his eyes remained soft and understanding almost.
You had snapped at him in front of all of his friends, telling him to take you home right that instant. They hadn’t even had their food. He looked like a kicked puppy at the time, and his friends looked embarrassed for him.
God, you didn’t fucking deserve that man, you couldn’t help but berate yourself.
You finally turned in the seat to face him a little better, your hands gripping the small off-white leather bag that sat on your lap—the same one he had bought you for your birthday.
You took in a deep breath, then let it out again. “I’m sorry I ruined your night, I just…” You began, the jealous feeling turning into a fire in your chest once again as your mind flashed with the images of the crowd of people around him, other people daring to run their hands over his body.
And he made no move to push them away.
“I think we should put this whole thing on the back burner. You’re so popular and friendly and…” You let your anxieties take over and speak for you.
You didn’t mean it, not really.
You didn’t want to end things with him, but you felt so distant from him when he was with his friends. You felt out of place, sticking out like a sore thumb trying to blend in. You felt like they whispered about you, mocked you behind your back.
Sure, he was just as introverted as yourself for the most part. But he was such a kind soul, people seemed to flock to him with adoration and so he seemingly never had an issue making new friends.
“Well, you’re so you and I’m so not you. I can’t keep calm while you flirt with everyone,” You began to babble, your mouth running with a mind of its own. He wasn’t really flirting. He was just a very friendly guy, which could easily be mistaken as him flirting.
His eyes widened in shock, causing your words to trail off. You looked down at your lap, closing your eyes. The tears were threatening to spill out once again. You felt stupid. You were so mad at yourself.
You felt a hand gently cup your cheek and looked up just in time for his lip brushed against yours, soft and gentle—the way he always kissed you. You felt his lips twitch up into a smile as your hand came to rest on his wrist. You weren’t trying to pull him away from you, you just wanted to make sure he was really there before you.
He pulled back enough to rest his forehead against yours. “I’m not mad, I just wish you would tell me how you’re feeling so I can try my best to help you overcome any struggles you’re having.”
“Even if you’re the cause?” You smiled lightly to reveal you were only joking, closing your eyes for fear of if you stared into his for much longer, he would consume your very being.
“You’re my whole world, you know that, right? If I ever do something to hurt you, you have to let me know so I can make up for it.” His voice was quiet, barely a whisper over the sound of the wind outside.
The way his thumb rubbed your cheekbone soothingly, his forehead against yours with both your eyes closed… you knew then that he was going to be the only man you could ever love in such a way.
He was infecting your life, and you never wanted it to end.
004. BEDSHEETS, NO CLOTHES, TOUCH ME LIKE NOBODY ELSE DOES. LOVELY TO JUST LAY HERE WITH YOU.
You and Anton lay in bed with your fingers and legs tangled, the speaker playing some soft music you could barely hear from the kitchen while the water from the bathroom reminded you that you couldn’t stay in bed together all day—no matter how bad you both wanted to.
Sadly, you had commitments outside of warm bedsheets and lazy kisses.
You sighed softly, pulling your body away from him.
It was cold without his arms around you, but you had work to get to and he had God knows how many things he wanted to do before the end of the day. He was a busy man, but he always found time for you.
“I should go have a bath before I leave for work,” You spoke into the room, almost as if you were begging for him to coerce you to take the day off work and stay in with him all day.
You could afford for you to miss a day of work, but you knew he would never let you skip. He was firm on you keeping their daily lives and routines in check to ensure you didn’t get too wrapped up in the little bubble that was your relationship.
He did it more so for himself, scared that he would lock you away all day so that neither of you were to see the sight of the sun or anyone else again.
He sat up, the bedsheets falling from his body as he pressed his face into the back of you shoulder, leaving soft and gentle kisses. The metal of his necklace was cold against you back, but the feeling was comforting—one you had grown to love.
“Then stop stalling sweetheart, you’ve got a busy day and you haven’t prepared your lunch box yet,” He mumbled against your skin.
You threw her head back so it fell to rest against his shoulder as you let out a groan.
Your lips pouted as Anton finally climbed out of bed first. As he stood, he reached for his sweatpants. He slipped them on, reminding you that you should be doing the same.
He finally noticed you pout and laughed, smiling. He always found you cute, but when you were tired and just wanted to spend all day in bed with him, it took all his willpower to not give in to the demands.
He leant over the bed and took your face in his hands. He titled your head side to side, speaking in a voice he had designed to encourage you to follow his commands, “You better get in that bath or else it’s going to overflow and ruin our bathroom.”
You sighed and nodded your head, finally getting out of the comfort of the bed.
You looked over your shoulder before you left the bedroom, smiling at the sight of your boyfriend, trying to decide which shirt he wanted to wear when you both knew all too well he would just end up settling for yet another one of his white t-shirts.
As you climbed into the bath, the heat that was circulating the room clouded your mind with the reminder of the night before, your fingertips tracing along his skin while his lips attached to every bit of you they could reach.
You sighed happily, leaning your head back before you closed your eyes.
If he were to ever disappear from your life, you weren't sure how you were ever going to feel happiness again.
005. YOU’RE KINDA CUTE AND I WOULD SAY ALL OF THIS, BUT I DON’T WANNA RUIN THE MOMENT. LOVELY TO SIT BETWEEN COMFORT AND CHAOS.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” He spoke in a loud voice—louder than you were used to—his hand itching to push your favourite vase off of the side table in the hallway in an attempt to get his anger out of his body through his fingertips.
The idea of watching something shatter to pieces felt as if it would ease the storm brewing inside of him felt comforting for the briefest of moments.
But he kept his hands balled in tight fists at his side.
He was angry, and sure he was willing to raise his voice a little, but he couldn’t bring it upon himself to do anything further for fear of scaring or even accidentally hurting you. He knew he had to calm down, but you wasn’t helping the case.
“What? So you’re allowed to be friends with all the people who have ever loved you, yet when I hang out with one of my oldest friends of the opposite gender and go for some drinks, I’m suddenly cheating on you?” You asked in disbelief, but the scent swallowing your body that was reminiscent of Sion’s—your best friend—cologne would make anyone misunderstand the situation.
“You call me in the middle of the night to pick you up from some bar with a man who has his hands on your waist, you stink of him and your lipstick is smudged, how else do you expect me to read this scenario?” Anton’s voice came to fall at his usually quiet volume, but he was still seething and his balled fists conveyed that.
“Look, I get your point, but you should know I would never do that to you. I don’t know who has hurt you before, but don’t compare me with your trashy exes,” You didn’t mean for the words to come out as bitchy as they had, but you were just as angry at him for thinking and insinuating that you could ever do such a thing to him just because you had spent the night out late with a man. Your best friend. Who had never had any hint of romantic attachment to you and who was only a platonic friend.
“Keep this little attitude up, and you’ll become one of them,” His voice was low, threatening almost, as he walked past you to the kitchen. He grabbed the jug of water that you kept on the side and then turned a glass around from the tray to fill it.
He hadn’t meant the words, and they felt bitter on his tongue the second he had said them. But he was confused, conflicted, annoyed. He had tried to be mature, but when it came to you, his reactions were unpredictable. He was like a man possessed, his mind and body acting out of sync with reasoning.
“You’ve got to be fucking joking,” You laughed, but there was no humour behind it. You leant against the kitchen island, your arms crossed as you watched his every move.
He brought the glass to his lips, gulped the water down, then slammed the glass back on the marble a little too hard.
You flinched at the impact, and it made him feel guilty, but you were both simmering in your own anger.
“I’m off to bed, if you’re done whoring around,” He spat harshly. “Then feel free to join me.” He turned and walked to your bedroom.
You turned to grip the counter, taking in several slow deep breaths. No relationship was ever perfect, but you couldn’t just let him go to bed. Not when you were both angry at one another.
You sighed as you made your way to the bathroom, wordlessly making your way through the room to the en-suite before stepping into the shower in an attempt to clean Sion’s scent from you before you even dared to enter your bedroom.
Freshly cleaned, and for extra effect, smelling of all of Anton’s products, you made her way to your shared king size bed. The lights in the room were out and his back was facing your side of the bed.
You sighed softly, as you got to your side of the bed. You pulled the blanket off and climbed into the cold sheets.
You crawled as close to his back as you could, resting your cheek against his warm and bare back. You closed your eyes, knowing he was likely still simmering in his anger and in no mood to turn around and hold you like he did most other nights.
But he surprised you.
He instantly turned around, his arms snaking around your body as he pulled you into his chest.
His nose nuzzled into your hair, and he took in a deep breath. “I’m sorry. I had no right to behave the way I did,” He apologised, his voice soft while his hands rubbed small circles on your skin. “I know you would never do such a thing to me, or anyone else.”
You smiled, one of your hands coming to his hair to gently run your fingers through it. “So am I.”
006. BUT IT’S OVER, THEN YOU’RE DRIVING ME HOME AND IT KINDA COMES OUT AS I GET UP TO GO. YOU KISS ME IN YOUR CAR AND IT FEELS LIKE THE START OF A MOVIE I’VE SEEN BEFORE.
His grip was a little too tight on your sides, but you chose to ignore it.
Your hands were laced in his hair, your lips swollen and red.
You pulled back to look down at your boyfriend, sat proudly in the driver’s seat with the love of his life on top of his lap.
He smiled smug, giggles finally escaping your throat.
Your cheeks burned, one of your hands moving to hide his gaze from your face.
He pouted, his hand coming to your wrist. He made no effort to push your hand away from his face, despite how much you knew he wanted to. He was a sucker for eye contact, despite knowing it intimidated you during your most intimate of moments.
It didn’t matter how long you had been together, his eyes were so mesmerizing and seemed to shake you to your core.
“I should leave,” You whispered, to which the one hand that remained on your side squeezed lightly.
“I don’t want you to go, not yet,” He whispered.
You pulled your hand from his face, your eyes staring right into his. You smiled softly and leant down to peck his lips a few times before you finally fully pulled back.
“It’s just a business trip, I’ll be back before you know it,” You spoke softly as you finally pulled away, your hands gently holding onto the sides of his neck. You couldn’t stop the fit of giggles when his lips pouted, and for added effect, he turned his face away from yours.
“Take me with you then,” He demanded, but his ears began to turn red. You knew he was feeling shy, it was taking all of him to admit his true feelings to you. “Find a way to fit me in your suitcase.”
He was a sucker for all things honesty and romance, but him acting like a clingy baby was new to the pair of you. Usually you were the one throwing metaphorical fits at the idea of being away from him for so long.
“I’ll call you every morning and night, it’s just for the weekend. We can hang out all day when I’m back, yeah?” You offered, your hands forcing his head to turn back in your direction.
He smiled softly, nodding his head as he finally gave in. “Fine, but you owe me a kiss tax. Seventeen kisses for every minute you’re away from me,” He joked.
You rolled your eyes, laughing once again before you gave into his demands and pressed your lips back to his.
007. BUT IT’S NOT REAL AND YOU DON’T EXIST, AND I CAN’T RECALL THE LAST TIME I WAS KISSED. IT HITS ME IN THE CAR, AND IT FEELS LIKE THE END OF A MOVIE I’VE SEEN BEFORE.
You jolted awake at the doctor's office.
Your head pounded and your body felt as if it were stuck in cold sweats.
Your name was called loudly, impatiently even, and you rushed to stand and grab the pain killers.
You were unwell, dizzy and plagued by headaches that almost became debilitating before your best friend and co-worker, Sion, begged for you to go to the doctors.
Your workplace team leader even had even given you the rest of the day off just for you to go and sort out your health, warning you that you could always catch up another time but you would never be able to give herself a new body if you ran yours to the ground.
The receptionist handed you the prescription, and forced a smile which felt almost laced with venom. Still, you smiled back politely. “Thank you,” You mumbled, your voice blurring for a second and it sounded just like the man’s voice from your dreams—from the one you had the night before.
***
It was meant to be summer, and you had been jogging to try and lose some weight just so you could fit into that fancy dress for your father’s wedding.
The weather was taking a turn for the worst, only dampening your mood.
You hated jogging at the best of times.
You had pulled over to sit under a tree, watching as the clouds swirled above and dampened the light over the world. You were trying to catch your breath, your side stinging with a stitch as a physical punishment for you downing your morning coffee before coming out.
But as the rain fell, you welcomed the piercing cold water on your skin.
You needed the reminder that you were alive, and the man in your dreams that felt as if he had begun to haunt your every waking moment was nothing but just that… dreams.
You closed your eyes with your head tilted towards the sky, welcoming the water covering you in a blanket of reality.
But his laugh haunted you as an echo in your ears at the worst of times. It shook you to your core.
It felt so real.
***
Waking up and lying in bed alone was painful, especially when you woke from the dream of his fingertips and soft kisses littering your skin.
You almost swore you could really feel them, but then you woke to a half-warm half-empty bed and you had to remind yourself to stay grounded—to not get lost in the fantasy your fever induced brain had been conjuring up.
Sion was your anchor, your best friend, your whole world.
He supported you and tried to set you up on as many dates as he could, did everything he could to distract you from the dreams that haunted you.
But when you walked the streets and smelt a wall of a familiar cologne that invaded your senses and made your whole world flip and your knees buckle, your eyes welled with tears.
The boyfriend in your dreams wasn’t real… so who was this man in front of your with the same smile, same eyes, same soft voice?

summary: anton takes his baby to see the cherry blossoms <3
“do you want to go see the cherry blossoms, bunny?”
when you were regressed, he was shyer around you. more cautious and patient.
you nod at him. “yes, please!”
“okay! let me help you tie your shoes.” he crouched down in front of you, and instinctively you looked away. you'd been together for a while, but there were certain things he did that made your face heat up and heart race.
he stepped back a bit to make sure you were all buttoned up, before smiling at you and holding his hand out for you to grab. "let's go. remember, don't let go of my hand, okay?" you nodded. you had a habit of wandering off if you saw something pretty, often leaving anton to talk to himself before realising you were gone. the only way he was able to make sure you never let go of his hand was telling you a scary monster would come if you did.
so from that point on, making sure you never let go of your daddy's hand was your number one priority.
you felt a refreshing breeze move gently over your skin as you stepped out into the warm air. the stray cat that sits in front of your shared apartment wasted no time coming over to you and anton, rubbing it's head against your legs and purring. you reached down to pet it, giggling as it let out a loud "meow" noise. anton stood back, admiring the way you were so gentle with it. unbeknownst to you, he pulled his phone out and took a few pictures of you and the cat before shoving it into his back pocket.
you looked up at him, smiling wide as ever. the cat was now laying on its side, offering itself up for belly rubs. "kitty!" you say to him. "i know, baby." he responds back, quietly. after a few minutes, you get up. a "goodbye" is waved to the cat, and the two of you are on your way once again. the park isn't that far, so you arrive fairly quickly. there were so many different things you wanted to run off and look at, but you didn't want to waste much time. seeing the cherry blossoms every spring was your favorite thing to do with anton besides color.
plus, you remembered what he said about the scary monster. you let go of his hand and quickly grab onto his bicep. he looks down at you with an eyebrow raised. "everything okay, little one?" you nod your head. "it's fine, daddy. don't worry."
he kisses the top of your head and guides you further into the park. you look up and see the tall trees swaying with the wind, and light pink petals drifting off of the branches. a quiet gasp leaves you as you take in the sight. "it's so pretty... appa, look!" anton nods, looking up at the trees and smiling. "should we get a picture?" he says, leaning in close to you.
you feel your face heating up again. he takes his phone out, leaning it against a bench and setting the timer. you both choose to first do peace signs, and then a heart. you can practically hear your heart thumping in your chest as he moves you closer to him. "ah, wait a minute, there's something in your hair." he mumbles, hands gently fixing your hair.
suddenly, a strong breeze passes and wraps the two of you in the delicate cherry blossoms. the light pink colors of the petals align the streets and fall perfectly into your hair once more. in the midst of it, you and anton are living out a scene from a romance drama. it was almost if everything was moving in slow motion. his hand is above you, trying to take something out of your hair. he towers over you and there's a slight, yet noticeable smile on his face. you look up at him with wide eyes and an obvious blush.
he only realizes something’s happened when he fully looks at you, who is blushing profusely. anton gives you a soft smile, still messing with your hair.
he mumbles something in korean, something that you vaguely understand as “she’s so shy today.” and then, “why are you blushing?” you turn your head away from him. you knew he would tease you either way. you snap out of your trance, rushing back over to his phone. "i think we have enough photos." he laughs to himself at your sudden seriousness, agreeing with you. "i think so too, bunny. should we get ice cream and then eat it here?" you bounce on your heels slightly, both excited he changed the subject and that you're getting ice cream before dinner.
"appa, there's a rose flavor i want to try!" you turn around, pointing back to an ice cream cart you passed earlier. anton holds out his hand once again, and you quickly take it.
"you're so cute." he says to himself. you overhear him and your ears go red. there truly was no way to calm your heart down around anton.

SHOTARO
when shotaro entered the room and saw you sleeping on anton's shoulder, he smiled
he tried not to do any noise so you could continue sleeping
he carefully sat on your side as he admired your profile with a warm smile
when your head started to fall from the other boy's shoulder (who was also sleeping), he quickly put his hand on your chin
seconds later, you were sleeping on shotaro's shoulder, murmuring something about being conformable
by then, the smiley boy was more smiley than ever
EUNSEOK
jealous man
seeing you so comfortable with your head resting on wonbin's shoulder and his over yours made his heartbeat race
he was frowned, staring at you two there and how comfortable you looked sleeping on his friend's shoulder
and wonbin was using a sleeveless shirt, seriously?
arms crossed over his chest, biting the inside on his cheek, and eyes on you
you were just sleeping, and he's your friend, so why is he so annoyed about it?
minutes later, he sat on your side, eyeing you by the corner of his eye
the moment you rested your head on his shoulder by yourself, a big smile appeared on his face. that's it, all the bad feelings were gone
SUNGCHAN
sungchan might be all smiley and friendly, but seeing you sleeping on eunseok's shoulder was something that he doesn't like it at all
he will not say it at loud, but he is jealous, so jealous that anybody can see his smile drop when he saw you two
the smirk on eunseok's face made his blood boil, but he is his friend, he can't be jealous, right?
when you started moving on to your place, still sleeping, he saw his opportunity and rushed to your side, sitting in the empty spot
when you opened your eyes to see what was happening, sungchan just placed his palm on your cheek to push your head on his shoulder
you started laughing after noticing what was going on, but he told you to go back to sleep, and that's what you did
WONBIN
why was sohee letting you sleep on his shoulder?
you always slept on his shoulder, so wonbin was a little upset about it
but after all it was sohee, it's fine. so he just let you both sleep while him was using his phone on the other sofa
you started blinking because the sun was over your eyes, so after fully open your eyes, you saw wonbin
he simply patted his side, and in seconds, you were resting your head on his shoulder, as sohee just lay down on his place and continued sleeping
you made yourself conformable on the black haired boy's shoulder, also intertwined your arms with his left arm, making him smile as he rested his head on top of yours
SEUNGHAN
sunghan was exhausted after coming from practice. he just wanted to lay with you.
but when he opened the door, he saw you sleeping on sungchan's shoulder
he pouted immediately, stering at you two from behind
sungchan greeted him with a smile and wanted to wake you up, but seunghan told him to let you sleep
after coming from the shower, he saw you still with your eyes closed, so he just went lay on the bed by his own,
he didn't want to bother you because you looked conformable sleeping
a few minutes passed when he felt a weight on the side of his bed, and immediately smiled, knowing it was you
wrapping his arms over your shoulders and resting his head over yours, he finally fell asleep
SOHEE
oh, sohee. the super cute and smiley boy, who was always friendly at everyone? well, he was upset seeing you sleeping on shotaro's shoulder
the straight face and crossed arms were noticed by the older boy, smiling about the fact sohee being jealous, because he looked cute
yeah, you were his friend, and he doesn't like too much physical contact, but that doesn't mean you can just sleep on shotaro's shoulder
i mean, of course you could, but he didn't know why he was feeling so upset
shotaro called him, making his thoughts go away, and told him to take his place
after refuse one time he was replacing shotaro's place in a few seconds
sohee was smiling like and idiot when you made yourself conformable on his shoulder
ANTON
as he was gulping a glass of water, his eyes were making holes on the back of seunghan's head
and the older boy knew it, but that just made him giggle mentally
few minutes later, anton sat next to you, staring at the tv, giving side eyes to you and seunghan
he absolutely wasn't paying attention to the screen at all. his eyes were on you two, specially you
he cleared his throat, making really obvious that he was doing that on purpose. but he wouldn't do anything about it
seunghan just took off your hands of him and put them over anton's arms, making the younger boy freak out
you wrapped your arms around him, resting your head on his shoulder as you were still asleep
anton was completely red looking at his hyung with widened eyes

thinking of husband sungchan during a post–war dystopia where food scarcity is extreme. the government has collapsed, the soil is poisoned, and the population dwindles. only the privileged can get themselves out of the country, escaped overseas under new governments, leaving the poor behind.
sungchan and you, are among the ones left behind with your young son, juyeon. sungchan was an engineer before the cities fell. before the sky turned the colour of bruises and the air began to taste like metal and chemical.
in the early months after the ceasefire, that made him useful. people came to him to get their broken water pumps fixed, rebuild stoves, and wire together light from scavenged solar scraps. because of your husband, your family wasn’t starving like the others. you had light at night, filtered rainwater, a small heater that coughed warmth on cold days.
he built it all himself with whatever he could salvage.
“honey,” you called out to sungchan, lingering by the backdoor as the wind slipped through the gaps in the wooden frame. your husband crouched by the small patch of dirt—hands buried in soil. sungchan had gathered scraps of old fertilizer, bits of charred compost, crushed eggshells—just to grow food.
when sungchan didn’t answer, you tried again. “love,” you said, softer this time. he looked up, squinting through the faint haze. “hm?”
“when do you think your brother will get us?” you asked, careful with your tone for anyone listening. these days, nobody can be trusted anymore. everyone’s got selfish with how things are just to survive another day. “he said he’ll get us, right? once the government finds a safe zone?”
for a moment, sungchan just stared at you. the trowel slipped from his hand. “that’s what he said,” he murmured. his voice caught somewhere between belief and exhaustion. “it’s not safe yet. they’re still clearing the radiation.”
“but it’s been three months,” you whispered, swallowing the lump in your throat. your heart thumped against your ribcage, fingers curling along the edge. “he promised he’d come back for us, didn’t he? juyeon’s been asking…”
sungchan’s hands clenched, smearing dark soil across his palms. he nodded once, then smiled your way. “of course he will,” he hummed, looking away as he dusted his hands. “he won’t leave juyeon alone, at least. juyeon’s the only nephew he has.”
you pursed your lips before nodding, rubbing the back of your neck. just as you were about to step out to help your husband, a small hand tugged at the hem of your shirt. you looked down to see your son, his hair sticking up in uneven tufts, cheeks smudged with paint.
“mommy,” he murmured, voice small and childlike. “i’m hungry.” he continued, voice muffled as he leaned into you. his other hand placed atop of his tummy like a gesture. you smoothed his hair gently, glancing at sungchan. “mmhm, okay sweetheart. mommy will have to see what we hav—”
“why don’t you two go inside first?” sungchan straightened, wiping his hands on his trousers. your husband smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “i have something special for dinner tonight.”
juyeon’s face lit up. “really?” your son looked up to you, tugging at your shirt again. “are we finally having chicken?” sungchan’s smile faltered for half a breath before he walked towards his wife and son, crouching to meet his eyes. “...something like that,” he said gently, ruffling juyeon’s hair. “be good, hm? help mommy set the table.”
juyeon grinned and ran back inside the house, his laughter echoing faintly through the doorway—followed by a small bark from the dog you picked up on the street. the scruffy thing bounded after your son, tail wagging weakly. the poor cutie had grown thin, fur dull and matted, but juyeon adored her anyway.
you lingered where you stood. “chicken?” you tilted your head slightly, looking at your husband with slight confusion flashed across your face. “i didn’t see any birds in the traps this morning.”
sungchan chuckled softly and tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear, letting his hand rest against your cheek. “found a little trade down the road, honey. don’t worry, it’s safe.” his thumb traced an absent line along your shoulder blade. “go on inside. you’ll both like it, i promise.”
“mm, okay love.”
——
the light outside had already dimmed to ash. the only lights in the house were from the kitchen, and candles scattered throughout the space. a single light burned in the middle of the table, the flame small and trembling. the smell coming from the pot was rich, almost sweet.
juyeon climbed into his chair, his hands on the table in front as he peeked inside the pot. “it smells good, daddy!” you glanced at your bowl, then sungchan in front of you as he scooped some of the stew into juyeon’s bowl.
the bits of meat, potatoes, and carrots floated in thick broth, the surface shimmering with oil. it looked… really yummy, and it smelled really good too. but there was something you couldn’t quite place in the back of your throat.
“where did you get it?” you asked, slowly picking up your spoon. sungchan hummed, glancing up at you. “a neighbour owed me a favour.” sungchan’s tone was light as he poured himself a smaller portion. full with the vegetables.
“mm!” juyeon had already begun to eat, his plastic spoon clinking against the bowl. his face lit up at the first bite. “it’s really good, mommy!” you smiled faintly, reaching to wipe the corner of his lips with your thumb.
he gave a small nod in return. sungchan watched as juyeon shoveled another spoonful into his mouth. the little boy’s laughter bounced in the room, his cheeks round and flushed with excitement. it’d been quite a minute since they had something warm and hearty like the stew.
you blew on your spoon before taking a sip. like how it looked, it tasted rich. the broth was thick and smooth, the salt perfectly measured. it filled your mouth with warmth, with the aftertaste of something faintly sweet… and metallic.
the meat itself was tender—nothing like you’d ever had before. you pressed your spoon against it and it gave almost too easily, fibers separating cleanly. the texture was strange… softer than beef, more delicate than pork, definitely not chicken.
“what kind of meat is this? is eunseok a butcher now?” you asked without thinking, covering your mouth lightly as you swallowed the food. sungchan chuckled, almost hollow. “something like that. he goes hunting every now and then so…” he said, his eyes fixed on his spoon as he stirred the broth idly.
you smiled faintly, cheeks flushed. “well, we should thank him the next time he drops by! i can’t even remember the last time we had something that tasted this—” you stopped, searching for the word.
“—good.” you finished softly, looking up to your husband.
“mmhm. i can tell it for us, love. it’s dangerous out there.” he replied, gaze travelling to his son who had just finished his own portion. some pieces with a pale ring of fat melted into the soup, clouding it in swirls.
it looked hearty and almost beautiful, if you ignored the faintly reddish tint that bled from the fibers when you pressed them.
“it’s really good! daddy i want more!”
“slow down, yeonie,” you giggled, brushing your son’s hair back that stuck on his forehead. “you’ll choke.”
sungchan’s eyes softened at the sight of the two people he loved dearly eating so eagerly. for a moment, the rough world outside left the air and fell away. all that existed in sungchan’s head was the sound of his wife and son’s laughter.
he leaned back slightly in his chair, the corners of his mouth curving up. “there’s more for tomorrow,” he murmured. “i made sure of it.”
the words settled softly. then, the dog barked again—louder this time. its claws clawed against the wooden floor. the sound made juyeon flinch, spoon clattering against his bowl. “kongi? you muttered, sighing. “she’s been barking a lot lately.”
sungchan’s smile wavered. he turned his head towards the dog, where the noise continued like a wild animal that’s untamed. “i’ll deal with her later,” he said quietly, glaring at her. “she’s just protective.”
the barking went on a beat too long. sungchan’s fingers twitched against his thigh before he held juyeon’s small hand in his. juyeon’s lip formed into a small pout as he tried to shush kongi with his index finger in front of his mouth.
as if to distract himself, sungchan squeezed juyeon’s hand lightly, but his eyes were on you.
“what do you think about lamb next week?”
you blinked, “lamb?”
“if we’re lucky,” he said, smiling faintly as he glanced at the dog. “maybe i can go hunting with eunseok. see what we can find.”
a/n: still working on other fics i swear but i just need to get this idea out of my head and onto the blog👩🏻💻 smut, fluff, angst - don’t hold your breath waiting for it though….
“awww….” you coo, raising a hand to his face, stroking your thumb over his cheekbone. he leans into your touch, eyes blinking up through his lashes - hazy from too much to drink. “would you have treated me right?”
“the best,” he mumbles, the corner of his pouty lips brushing against the heel of your hand. “would’ve given you flowers on every date, remembered every special anniversary, would’ve dropped everything if you asked me to come over, we would’ve moved in together with a dog, you would’ve been my everything—”
“yeah?” you say, softly, hand dropping to his shoulder to give him a few sympathetic pats. “you regret that you couldn’t do all that?”
“most of all,” his voice dips low, stretching his syllables out, and you can see him swallow. “i regret that i never got to fuck you.”
your mouth goes dry.
he’s still looking at you, bambi-brown hair tousled over his brows, neediness making his gaze stick to your skin. slender delicate features, tall and crumpled in on himself against the bar. the sweetest boy you knew, the sweetest boy you never thought you deserved —

Angst
You walked to the dance studio with your hands holding 2 bags filled with home-baked goods for your boyfriend, Eunseok, and his friends.
You smiled as you walked towards the door, only to trip over your own feet and realise that your shoe laces were undone. You put the bags aside and crouched down to tie your laces. You could hear the chatter coming from the dance studio where your boyfriend and his group were practising their choreography diligently.
You got up to enter the dance studio when you heard something that made you freeze dead in your tracks.
"Y/N is so clingy, you're really not missing out on much, Anton, trust me," Eunseok said, snickering.
"Tell me about it, no offence, but it would be so much better if she weren't always there. She's my best friend, but my god, she's so clingy. It's desperate and I hate it. "How's Eunseok, Sungchan? Do you need me to get you food? Do you wanna hang out?" Like, please shut up."
"Oh my God, someone who gets me! She's also always stealing my hoodies like it's not cute, it's also really annoying when she stretches them out like jeez, those are some really cool hoodies, which now are way too big for me." He laughed throwing something- probably his waterbottle on top of his bag.
You felt faint. Your heart was hammering in your chest, and you felt your breathing get heavy. You didn't know what to do, before you could do anything, you heard someone open the studio door, you quickly put on a smile and picked up your bags before being greeted by a very uncomfortable Sohee.
His face lit up with a smile when he realised it was you.
"Y/N! What are you doing here?" He asked, pulling you into a hug. His face dropped when he remembered the conversation that took place in the dance studio. "When did you get here?"
"Oh, just a few moments ago, I came with treats!" You exclaimed, lifting the bags up, sohee smiled even wider as he peeked into the bag and realised you had brought cookies, brownies and carrot cake. He took both bags off you, opening the door to the dance studio for you. You gave him a small smile as you walked in.
The atmosphere completely changed when you walked in. You saw the way Sungchan and Eunseok froze seeing you walk in.
"Y/Nnie," Sungchan called out, "when did you get here?"
"Not long ago, just as Sohee walked out." You replied, taking the bags off Sohee, "I brought treats for you all." You said as you and Sohee started taking the baked goods out of the bag and laying them on the table near the entrance.
You didn't miss the look that Sungchan and Eunseok gave each other. A part of you wanted to run out of the studio and not look back, but the other part of you knew it wasn't the best course of action.
The boys all came running towards the table, and Eunseok gave you a small peck on the cheek. "You're a star baby," he said, smiling at you. You couldn't believe he was capable of talking so horribly about you behind your back and then feigning love and adoration for you in front of you.
You smiled and moved to the side as you let the boys eat the food. You saw Anton in the corner. He looked tense. You couldn't blame him, after all, Eunseok told him about what he felt towards you, Anton's inner romantic probably died.
You didn't realise that Anton had started walking towards you until you heard his soft voice.
"Can we talk?" He asked fiddling with teh strings of his hoodie.
"Sure, what's up?" You asked removing the strings from aroun his fingers, "your blood circulation will be cut off if you kee doing that toni."
He gave you a weak smile.
"Thanks for worrying about me Y/N." A small chuckle left his throat, "I want to talk to you about something that happened today. It's related to you."
"Okay... what is it Toni? You're kind of scaring me."
"I don't know how else to say this, but Eunseok and Sungchan were talking horribly about you."
"Anton just because you've never been able to find a partner doesn't mean you should go around lying to people." Eunseok's voice startled you. You turned around to see him leaning againsnt the door frame glaring at you both.

౨ ˖ 박원빈 : PARK WONBIN ৎ ⋆
[a solid 13/10] - i feel like he'd be really conflicted. like on one hand he'd rather you be the one to confess but on the other he wants to do like a huge romantic gesture and be the one to confess to you. i can imagine there being this one phase of time where he'd kinda start ignoring you to get you to reach out to him or wtv tactics the insta/tiktok girlies (gn) teach him too

[5/10] - okay but i see him either just randomly blurting it out of nowhere over a voice call or while ur ft-ing ("hey this cat reminded me of u" "aww haha im in love with you" "WHAT") OR doing it via a more traditional, thought out kinda way ... maybe like making you a gift or writing you a love letter/song :(( <3
