Also, the lawyer says SPECIFICALLY that their law firm knows how much LOUIS meant to their dear client. That Lestat had communicated to his lawyers specifically that Louis was important, this letter was to him, and Lestat's estate was to go to Louis. And given how 18c letters work, it likely would have arrived to Roget all in one big envelope with smaller envelopes with instructions and Louis' letter inside. There might even have been one for Claudia that Roget either decided not to hand over or that Lestat instructed that she was only to get if she came herself. He knew that she was plotting to kill him, true, but in the books he never begrudged her that and in fact admired her for doing what he himself never could. The idea that he would write her a similar 'I love you' letter isn't 100% outside of the scope of his characterization, nor is the idea that he might confess/repent to her some of what he considered to be his sins regarding her in it.
I hope you don't mind me pulling this up, because: yes.
The lawyer knew who Louis was, and addressed him then.
That letter was for Louis.
And yes, it is not out of scope nor imagination, that there would have been something for Claudia as well.
