rogue two | the film reroll animatic
Thinking intensely about how Luke, in his final moments, trusts the force only for it to do nothing for him. He was betrayed by it just as he was betrayed when his chance to study under Obi Wan was ripped away from him and given to another. He gave one last chance to this force which was promised to save the galaxy, to save him and yet when he called out for it, it abandoned him
Spoilers: Rogue Two Part 5
Consequences be damned, Luke should have been allowed to kill Cassian.
Being a purely audio medium, tabletop gaming podcasts with a consistent cast will sometimes have wildly different characters in different universes having very similar voices, and it's that same moment of voice actor confusion I get when Bender Bending Rodriguez shows up in Vampire: the Masquerade.
All of which is to say: I enjoy how, in the Film Reroll's A New Hope, Obi Wan is played by David Bowie and Chewbacca is Winnie the Pooh
My Setup for a Sequel to Rogue One
Location: The beach on Scarif.
Jyn and Cassian huddle together arms entwined around one another in a passionate embrace. The blast draws closer, the heat reflected directly upon them. They can feel themselves slipping away. Then Cassian hears shouting. Screaming. Blaster fire. The roar of repulsor engines. A voice echoes: “If you want to live, you’ll come with me. There isn’t much time.” Cassian looks up to see a man standing over the pair of them. He can’t see his face because of the glare of the blast, but he recognizes an Alliance insignia on his breast pocket and knows he can be trusted.
“Who are you?” he asks.” “That doesn’t matter,” the stranger replies. “What matters is that I have a ship, and the blast will reach us soon.” “I thought it already had.” “A correct assumption. Were it not for your friend there, you would already be dead.”
“My friend?”
The stranger motions to Jyn, who has fallen limp and unconscious in Cassian’s arms. “So?” The roar of the blast wave cuts the stranger off before he can answer. “If she dies, we all die. Come on, we have to start moving before it’s too late.” *** Cut to a dramatic scene of Cassian carrying an unconscious Jyn across the beach, blinded by the blast and stumbling half aimlessly towards the figure in front of him. How he hasn’t been vaporized yet is a mystery only the Force can know. Jyn, of course, being unconscious, doesn’t know either. However, as she regains consciousness, she has a vague awareness of the fact that the shard of Kyber crystal around her neck is glowing. However, before she can fully comprehend this fact, she falls back into unconsciousness as Cassian trips and almost falls. “Cassian!” Jyn cries out, her voice faint and distant. She can feel the pain from the blast surging through her body, and she whimpers weakly, jarred by the suddenness of the motion. Cassian looks down, away from the stranger for just a moment as he stares into Jyn’s eyes. “Jyn! Jyn, you have to stay with me!” No response. Cassian’s hand presses against Jyn’s throat, feeling for a pulse. For a moment, he panics as he feels nothing. Grief slams into his heart, and he cries out in an anguished voice, begging for Jyn to be alive. “Jyn, Jyn! Stardust!” At the sound of that name, Jyn stirs in his arms. The stranger turns back over her shoulder. “Get up! The blast will be here any moment!”
“She’s weak! You’ll need to tell your pilot to get closer to us!’
“There’s no way I’ll be able to cut through all this interference. You’ll have to keep moving!” As they stagger to the ship, the man who led them there shouts to the pilot. “Jan! Extraction! Now!” “I’m on it!” The female pilot replies, firing up the engines. Cassian and Jyn stagger onto the transport, and the vessel races into the atmosphere. In a scene similar to the Falcon’s escape from the Second Death Star, the battered old freighter barely manages to make it into space and flee the system. A few TIE Fighters engage the craft, but the Rebels fend them off and manage to jump to hyperspace. Jyn rests in the back of the transport, being treated by a medical droid. Cassian stands beside her, his hand in hers, smiling down at the Kyber crystal clutched in their intertwined fingers. (To be continued)
anyways tldr enfys nest is rad as hell and i hope they get to come back in solo two or the favreau live action series
I’m rewatching The Empire Strikes Back (original theatrical version, booyah, BITE ME LUCAS) and watching Han internally freak out when he hears Luke hasn’t come back is giving me all the feels. - WHO has seen MAH BOY? - No one, but don’t wo— - I am GOING to find MAH BOY. - It’s too cold you’ll die Captain So— - SCREW YOU I GOTTA GET MAH BOY Their friendship gets lost sometimes behind the Leia/Han romance, but the Luke/Han bromance is so important to me. (Also? The odds of Han finding Luke in that blizzard? Combine that with the bad feelings and the no-look shot in TFA and I am completely on board with Force-sensitive Han.)
