The quality of D&D actual play shows has only steadily increased over time. Every player is better than when they started, every DM is better, every member of each production crew is better, the editing and sound design in the podcasts is better, the encounter design is better, etc… I absolutely love the stuff from 5+ years ago and it’s only a testament to the people involved that they’ve made things better. We’re living at the best possible time for D&D content and there’s enough variety that you can find something to your taste. And that’s just great.

If I had a nickel for each ttrpg featuring Zac Oyama and Ally Beardsley in proximity to a chili cook off, I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice…

is emily axford a horse girl bc she lowkey gives horse girl vibes and in 2 separate campaigns (that i know of thus far i am still making my way through d20 and etc) she has had a horse or played a horse girl…..

Kimia anon from last month here. She was phenomenal in the premiere of Gladlands — I get the vibe she’s much more familiar and comfortable with longform improv (alongside more traditional scripted acting, as I said last time) than something shortform like MSN where she never stood out to me. I think because of that she really wowed me since she’s a fairly new TTRPG player with improv chops, compared to Vic who’s also new to D20 but has been on actual plays before (Rotating Heroes).

It's times like these I feel embarrassed by my inconsistency, cause last month refers to last December.

"a saddle for a dolphin so a horse can see the ocean" needs to be added to the "hilda hilda-esque moments" lexicon. i thought this was a safe actual play to listen to at work and am having a full meltdown at my desk.
