Rowena Time Period Speculation

We hardly know anything about Rowena, but there's one giant hint in her design that makes it easy to assume what time period she's from. Her sleepwear is an off shoulder, babydoll style nightgown with bloomers that looks extremely similar to this 1955 McCall's sewing pattern

Nightgowns and dresses around that era were also noted to have heart shaped cleavage, for a nicer silhouette

Rowena seems to be looking directly at the misfits and smiling amiably, as if thinking, "oh, new friends, great," but Ligeia is looking at Berenice with her usual analyzing, unimpressed look, "aha, you have a weakness for this girl, noted".

I do not know what I meant by that. I just like them.

I love how queerness is subtly portrayed outside of whiteraven’s relationship. Even though most of the canon relationships outside of those two are straight, there’s still quite a few gay moments and characters in the background.

When Annabel first wakes up in her dorm and befriends Ada, we see both a boy and a girl blushing at her when she waves at them.

The undisclosed homoerotic relationship between the two girls that just can’t catch a break between the rats and the hounds.

Sterling being a canon problematic bi king.

The willtresor kiss and Will’s not-so-subtle attraction towards men that are no good for him.

Rowena flirting with Lenore and all 3 of Arthur’s fangirls being head over heels for Lenore.

Whatever the hell is going on between Ligeia and Rowena. (Personally I think it’s unrequited feelings from Ligeia towards Rowena)

Duke being confirmed to at least swing both ways. (I swear that Christmas comic is canon to MEEEEE)
