Is Austin’s family not quiverfull? I know his dad was married before he married Megan and Austin’s mom, but I didn’t know if she only had 2 kids because of choice or if that’s all she was able to have
As with most of the In–Laws, we know a lot less about the Forsyths than, say, the Duggars or Bateses. Here’s what I was able to find out—
Austin Martyn Forsyth was born on December 13, 1993. He’s the second child, and only son, of Terry Forsyth (b. 12–15–59) + Roxanne Forsyth (née Waters) (b. 11–23–63). Before Austin’s arrival, the Forsyths married on June 15, 1985, and had their daughter, Meagan Elizabeth Ballinger (née Forsyth), on September 28, 1991. Austin was the Terry + Roxanne’s last child. When the Forsyths married, Terry was 25 Years, 6 Months old, while Roxanne was 21 Years, ~7 Months old. At Austin’s birth, his parents were age ~34 Years (Terry), and 30 Years, 20 Days (Roxanne).
Before all of this, Terry Forsyth had a first wife, Julia Ann Rowe (b. ~1963). The pair married on November 29, 1979, possibly in Madison County, Arkansas. At the time, Terry was 19 Years, 11 Months old, while Julia was ~16. Terry + Julia had two children. A son, Brandon Lynn (b. 9–12–80) was born about 9 Months (288 Days) after the marriage, followed 17 Months later by a daughter, Rachael (b. 3–3–82). By Summer 1982, Julia Rowe had filed for divorce. A Texas Court finalized the divorce on September 10, 1982, awarding Julia legal and physical custody of Brandon (~2 Years) and Rachael (6 Months), subject to “reasonable visitation” by Terry. (You can read the court order here, at Radar Online.) Terry remarried (to Roxanne) ~2 Years later.
So… Are the Forsyths quiverfull (QF)? Well, the divorce is a big no–no, clearly. But I don’t think Terry took the divorce lightly, at all. He’s clearly distraught to have a divorce in his past. On the Forsyths’ Worlds Strictest Parents episode, Terry said—
“We came up with this idea of starting Fort Rock Family Camp with an idea of family restoration. My heart is, is that families can have a place nowadays to get away and step back in time, if you will, and spend time together.”
To me, that says Terry’s desire to help other families arises out of guilt or regret that he couldn’t preserve his own.
Anon, you allude to Terry’s wives two–arrow quivers… True, Terry + Julia had 2 Children, but there’s no evidence of pregnancy prevention. Brandon was born 9 Months after the wedding, and Rachael was only 6 Months old when Terry + Julia divorced. They didn’t have time to have any more children.
As for Terry + Roxanne, I’m not sure why they only had 2 Children. Aged 30 at Austin’s birth, you’d expect Roxanne to have a few more. Maybe Austin’s birth was difficult or traumatic? I vaguely recall Austin once saying (on Counting On, maybe) that he was born via C–section, but I couldn’t verify that. (Does anyone else remember this?)
Regardless… I believe the Forsyths are QF, despite Terry’s divorce and the not–that–many children. Watch World’s Strictest Parents, and listen to the modesty speech they give those kids. They’re so, so similar to the Duggars, even using the same bizarre terminology like ‘defrauding.’ Ditto when it comes to courting, purity, homeschooling—you name it. So, yeah… I know they’re fundamentalist, and believe they’re QF, as well.
Yo if life begins at conception AND you literally know the baby is a boy (and therefore don’t have to use the evil singular “they”) you have no reason to call a baby an “it”.
Some pics of Jinger and Meaghan Ballinger (Austin’s sister) being bridesmaids at a friend’s wedding a few months ago. More Duggar/family sightings: Jordyn, Jedidiah, Jana, Jessa, Derick, Jill, Josiah, Bobby Ballinger (Austin’s brother in law), Terry and Roxanne Forsyth (Austin’s parents). I think the photographer rocked!! I only took pics that contained a Duggar/ relative but even these few pics show, what great idea the photographer had! (Annie)
The change in facial expressions as soon as the glitter cloud envelopes them XD
The top pictures are from Rachael's Facebook. She says her Dad (Terry) owns Fort Rock. And then another person tells her to say hello to her Dad and Step-mom (Roxanne). I'm not sure what happened with her parents but Terry Forsyth is definitely her father. Making her Austin and Meagan's half-sister. This also explains why when they announced Meagan's baby girl they didn't say "first" granddaughter and instead said newest. Rachael has 4 daughters.
Happy Birthday, Bobby! From my friends/family in Africa.

They are now Mr. and Mrs. Forsyth. I pity whoever has to clean the church after all of this.
