Little bit of advice; if you email someone do NOT call them 10 minutes later because they have not answered. Especially if it is a professional. ESPECIALLY if it is your advisor. And ESPECIALLY IF IT IS ME!!!!! D<
Nothing angers me more than impatient students who don't understand that they are not the only person I talk to or work on. So fuck off. I have 48 hours at LEAST to respond back to you.
I am really dreading going to work right now. I hope the rude student doesn't show up because only two tutors will work with her and one of them is me and the other (my wonderful HC) does not work today :(
Let's just hope the hours from 8 to 1 fly by so I can come home and get ready for my academic advising appointment at 2! :)
Me Being Polite
So one day while I was in New York with my dad, we were hanging around in front of a museum. I went up all these stairs so he could take a picture. Then I saw this older woman about to walk out, and opened the door for her. She said thank you. Her group of about forty students from another state did not though and I held the door for all of them. Finally number 37 said thanks and I said I did an older person thing and went "You know, you're very welcome. I glad you took the time to say thank you to a person who is taking the time to hold the door for ALL forty of you." Then all the rude teens who heard me speaking turned around and said thank you all awkwardly. Thank the kind and polite people when you can guys. We get little support (Just a little life story for you all.)
Oh, sad panda. Ugly face.
I was having an off morning. I was running late and I usually put my make up on in the car. I happened to catch a phone call I wanted to take while I was driving, so I didn't multi-task while I was driving. I was wearing a nice outfit, so I didn't look a complete hot mess.
I arrive in the building, and then one of my very observant students asks, "Miss T, you look very different without make up on!"
Me: Oh, so I look bad?
Student: Um, your sweater is very beautiful.
Uh huh. I heard that silence. Loud and clear.
Also this one girl in my Chemistry class was hatin' on the elderly.
"They creep me out. Like, we were singing in this nursing home for this choir thing and this lady was crying 'cause her husband died in Nam. Like, what the heck?" You. Go crawl into a hole. Think about what you said. And die. Right now.
