I think the main difference between Mi-yeong and Rumi's dad and Rumi and Jinu are 2, probably:
1. Rumi and Jinu are each other's first and only love. Mi-yeong and Rumi's dad are each other's last love. Rumi spent her whole life hiding herself, never truly opening up to anyone and focusing on her duty as a hunter. Jinu was too busy starving and then suffering as a demon. Neither of them had the time or energy to have any romantic experience at all. Not even silly crushes. So they're doing anything for the first time and that's why they feel awkward at the beggining before getting comfortable. Mi-yeong and Rumi's father have had experienced romance before, but never in the intensity of their love for one another, but as they had previous experience, they're comfortable with each other right away.
2. Rumi is half demon and Jinu is full demon. Rumi's dad was full demon and Mi-yeong was full human. Because of that, Rumi's father and Mi-yeong had difficulties and faced challenges to build the sense of mutual understanding Rujinu has. Because Rumi helps Jinu remember and regain his humanity and Jinu helps Rumi cope with her demon side. While Mi-yeong and Rumi's dad took longer to achieve this understanding of each other because Rumi's dad might remember a little bit how to be a human, but Mi-yeong will never truly get his demon side, no matter how hard she tries, so all she's able to do is be there for him, which for Rumi's dad is more than enough, but because of it Rujinu can relate to one another, while Rumi's parents can.
Because of those two factors, it's tragic to think about how Rumi's parents are a reverse mirror to Rujinu. Rujinu are soulmates, meant to be. Meanwhile, Rumi's parents were never meant to be. But they still tried to defy all odds, that were all against them, expecting the outcome to be different, even though deep down they both knew they were doomed from the start. That's why I think there's a high possibility of Jinu coming back and Rumi and Jinu's bond to have a lot of parallels to the one of her parents. Rumi and Jinu are the Rumi's parents that made it until the end. Rumi's dad and Mi-yeong that worked. People might say, "it was a bold, original choice to kill the main lead". I would have agreed if it was the right choice. But it wasn't, as I have said why I think so many times before by now
Hope you enjoy this poorly edited meme that I made when I should've been working.
I JUST REALIZED SOMTHING. RUMI NEVER KNOWES IF HER PERANTS LOVED EACHOTHER OR NOT
there's never confirmed or impled confirmamtion
Rumi wasn't ever shilded from the whole honmoon demon hunter thing
Rumi knew 2 things as a kidalready very young
1 demons are these unfeeling soul snatching monsters send by gwi ma
Everything with patterns is a demon. Demon just have patterns=bad
2 rumis dad is a demon. Rumi has patterns =demon=bad but celine taught her cover that(her demon parts) up=good patterns=demon=bad
I'm shur rumi confronted celine abt that and asked if her perants loved eachother or if she was a rape baby, when she's old enough and understand the stuff better. Celine would've ofc denied that and changed the topic. (Not celine hate but it seems her style was very much cover up and be very advoidance of certain topics cuz trauma and maybe big generational trauma she's very flawed perant but did her best)
But did rumi ever get closure on if her parents loved eachother? Cuz how does a hunter fall in love with a demon and how could an unfeeling demon love her mother? Children tend to go wild and some often blame themself for their parents death when young.
And this is kinda destroyed me. So i'm working on a fic where bobby finds old sunlightsister recordings and maybe does some digging getting old CCTV footage of them kissing somehow idk. And rumi? Her first reaction is breaking down unpacking shit and crying " they loved eachother they truly loved eachother"
Obv after the events of the movie but i'm also thinking somewhere in the middle of the movie would be very funny/intresting
Gwi-ma is Rumi’s GRANDFATHER! Her father was his son! Celine killed her dad not knowing (or fully knew because she was taught to hate demons) the relationship he had with Rumi’s mom. Celine couldn’t look at her in that one scene or her markings because she has identical markings to her father and her distress was similar to her mother’s when she found out about her lovers death!

But hey… that’s just me
The fate of Rumis Mother
According to an Reddit post Celine killed Rumis mother in an accident. Since then shes filled with guilt and promises to protect everything her mother has left. The last thing that was left from her was her little daughter Rumi. Celine hide the truth from Rumi and told her instead because of her dad being a demon, that he had killed her mother.
Apperantly this is a scrapped script from the early versions of the movie.
Idea for KPDH 2:
Huntrix finishes their comeback tour, which has gone relatively incident-free. Gwi-Ma is laying low after being banished, and the Saja Boys are, according to the public, on an indefinite hiatus, likely due to the stress of being idols.
However, Rumi has a dream where she talks with Jinu, and she begins to wonder if he can be brought back to life. But she doesn't know how to. Come to think of it, she doesn't know much about the demons, other than where they came from, even though she's half demon. So she decides to investigate her past in the hopes of finding out about her parents.
The story is mostly told through flashbacks (maybe Rumi can use the Honmoon to see into the past). We learn about the Sunlight Sisters, how they came to be, and get to hear a song or two by them in the style of 90's KPop. She meets the third Sunlight Sister, who has exiled herself out of grief, and learns how her father seduced her mother as a way to weaken the Hunters. We learn later that the third Sunlight Sister killed Rumi's parents, and that her "grief" wasn't about the death of Mi-Yeong, it was guilt over killing them. It would be an interesting dilemma for Rumi, since she is angry, but knows that her father was a demon.
There's also a scene where she sees an old painting of a royal with a bipa player, who she recognizes as Jinu, and several scenes that allude to the past of the Saja Boys. She begins to realize that some demons can be saved if Gwi-Ma is destroyed, and this could set up the conflict for the third movie. Jinu will be brought back, but I'm not sure if it would be in this movie or the third.
Tell me you all see the vision too
