Currently sick, thanks kids, and trying to decide if Janine DeLuca and/or Maxine Myers would tell me to skip my strength training and rest, or suck it up and deal.

I ran a 10 mile race at the weekend. The weather was hot and sunny. I usually run in leggings but the prospect of bare legs in the sunshine tempted me and I broke the cardinal rule of never running in untested running gear, by running in a pair of shorts I’ve done short runs in but not long ones. They have an inner layer of fitted shorts and an outer layer of loose shorts, so I thought all would be well on the whole inner thigh situation. I was wrong. There was chafing. It was not pleasant. Will not be doing that again.
Did this run at lunch time and then did a little walk and upper body peloton lift class this evening. Feeling a little antsy and anxious today cause I think I’m just like struggling with focus and stuff at work and feel like I’m messing up even though it’s going fine. Just in a bit of a lull...
This was my saviour yesterday. I drove out to my run start location, stopping to buy some doughnuts along the way and despite my best efforts, I really needed a washroom as soon as I started running. The sloshing sounds from my water bottle and the crashing waves off to the side didn’t help the situation.
As I was debating whether I should a) try and find a bush or b) suck it up for another 9 miles, I came across this set up. Awesome! And they had hand washing stations with soap and paper towel too!
So this walking neckbeard stops me on my run the other day and I thought for sure he wanted to start shit..... but he just let me know how awesome it is that I run all the time in any weather which was really nice to hear....
Now I know this is gonna sound a bit mean but like please don't stop me while I'm running, I'm really enjoying myself and I don't want to be interupted...... also he had a confederate flag in his garage so fuck that guy!!
You know you’re a runner when you can’t wait for next track season but at the same you’re glad it’s offseason 🍂
2.25-mile run. 39 degrees & drizzle. I’ve run in worse conditions. Attempting to see through the water droplets helped distract me from the pain.
