I promise this is not all I'm going to post. It's just the list of characters you'll be able to unlock/play during/after V1.
The next posts are going to actually have pictures with them and I'm still thinking about explaining when you'll unlock each character and their various outfits.
Roman glanced down at the barrel of the gun pressed against his jugular- then grinned like a cat, “You’re not gonna shoot me.”
Junior adjusted his grip, baring his teeth “I could kill-“
“You’re not gonna shoot me, J.J.” Roman interrupted, amusement absolutely dripping from every word. He brought a single finger up to push the barrel only an inch or so away from his neck, “You and I both know that.”
Junior swallowed hard, gripping the gun so tightly his hand shook.
Despite Junior being taller he couldn’t help but feel Roman was staring him down, his green gaze unnerving. Like some sort of cat or fox, eerily amused, like he knew something no one else in the world did. Eery- yes, that was the word for it. Off putting, unsettling. It felt like he was doing something he wasn’t supposed to do looking into Roman’s eyes, how like if you stared at a mirror too long the image would warp. The green was somehow as blank as it was incredibly animated, communicating so clearly while making Junior feel entirely out of his depth.
Do it, he practically dared, I know you won’t.
His finger on the trigger trembled. Then slackened.
Torchwick, as he often seemed to be, was right.
He would like to pretend that this decision was a business move. Certainly, that’s what he’d tell those around him. That Roman Torchwick kept the underworld in line, that things ran smoothly when he was around and Junior had no desire to disrupt him. True statements, but somehow a lies nonetheless.
Junior let his arm go limp, intending to drop the gun. Instead Roman moved, lightning fast, to grip the handle, crushing Juniors hand against the gun, keeping him from dropping the weapon.
Junior watched, transfixed in fascinated horror as Roman ran the gun along his jawline, featherlight, ghosting across pale skin, his eyes dipping down to track it in an almost coy manner. He continued until the gun rested just below his lips and flicked his eyes up to meet Junior’s.
He blew over it, miming blowing the smoke of a just fired gun. Only then did he release Juniors hand, letting his arm fall limply to his side, his half smile half smirk came to rest on his lips.
“I’ll see you later baby bear,” Roman said lightly, in the same amused lush tone he spoke about everything in, turning on his heel to leave, “Enjoy your night.”
In a previous snippet, RWBY is in Asuka's Loops (the world of Evangelion) And Asuka helps Weiss recall a memory she'd buried since the start of the Loops.
This is from several Loops later, a conversation between Yang and "Junior" Hei Xiong.
This was inspired by this bit of dialogue from the above mentioned chapter:
“Nothin’ you don’t already know, Blondie.” Junior huffed with a grin, pressing a kiss to the top of Yang’s head that had her blushing, “We’ll straighten out after we help the Ice Queen and her king.”
“I’ll hold you to that, Xiong.”
He knew she would. It might take a few Loops, but she’d pin him down. Hopefully he’d have his head on straight by then.
Though really, it's Yang that needs to figure herself out. Junior already knows what he's willing to offer, he's just thinking about Yang and trying to fully puzzle out her thoughts. He's had, by this point in the Loops, a very long time to watch her.
So the following scene is when Yang and Junior finally talk. (more info about them after the scene)
0o0o0o0 Lonely
Yang dropped onto Junior’s sofa, watching the man huff as he rolled his eyes, and snickered. It was always fun, watching the man react to her arrival. Sometimes he would huff—like now—at her bursting into his office in the afternoon. Other times he would act like he hadn’t noticed her, busy with his paperwork while she wandered around the room to glance at books or photos that she’d long ago memorized, before she’d drop on his sofa or lean on his desk and call for his attention.
Sometimes he’d smile, pleased to see her, and she’d have to tease out of him the story of a Loop without her. The fact her digging didn’t annoy him, not like it used to, and how he’d grin as he answered… it warmed something inside her.
They didn’t have a Bond, not like Ruby had with Roman or Weiss had with Jaune. They didn’t even have a Tether, like Blake had with Roman and Adam both. It would make tracking him down difficult, if it wasn’t for the fact he rarely left the Club. She just always came to him, sitting at the bar to talk to him on nights she didn’t work, or wandering into his office to share coffee and talk.
Yang wondered—now and then, and every time she was confronted by her sister’s connection to Roman—why they’d never connected like their “kids” had. It wasn’t like their Aura’s hadn’t pushed against each other before, edges bleeding into each other, on those occasions when they found themselves protecting the Club or fighting outside it during Variant Loops.
“Anything new?” Junior asked, pushing his paperwork aside and leaning on his desk to smile at her.
“Nah, nothing really different in the last couple Loops.” She twisted sideways and flopped back, stretching across the sofa and crossing her arms behind her head as she looked up at the ceiling, “Weiss-Queen and Vomit Boy are doing better, and Ruby’s been running to Roman most evenings to play with some new mech he scrounged up. What about you?”
“Not dealing with Roman’s chatter or moping, now that he and Ruby are distracted with a project.” Junior snorted, standing from his desk to walk around it, slapping at her knee so she’d lift her legs long enough for him to sit down, “They’ve been toying with something out in the warehouse district for the last few Loops; you’ve missed a couple of mine.”
Yang dropped her legs across his lap, sighing as he tugged her boots off and started massaging her feet, unsurprised they’d each had a few Loops without the other, “Yeah, I think Ruby said something about an Evangelion? Probably just a modified Paladin.”
“Last thing Remnant needs is a psycho robot tearing up the streets.” Yang watched him roll his eyes, the man switching which of her feet was in his hands, “But at least they’re happy.”
“Are we happy, Xiong?”
She wasn’t sure what made her ask. She was happy. Yeah, she’d told him they’d talk after Weiss settled down again, but… did it have to be now?
Junior’s fingers slowed, his hands simply holding her foot, as he turned his eyes to hers. It hit her, then, how things might look if her sister walked in on them; Junior seated on one end of the sofa with herself stretching the length of it, her legs in his lap and his hands on her feet and calves. It made her blush, but she met his gaze regardless. It wasn’t like she hadn’t caught Ruby and Roman in just as compromising a position.
Or worse, and she’d love to scrub her brain with steel-wool to remove that memory.
“Which “we” are you asking about, Blondie?”
His voice was soft, low. Earnest. It vibrated up her legs, and the room suddenly felt too small, too warm, and it frustrated her.
Which version of “them” did she mean? Yang sat up, sliding her legs off him to plant her socked feet on the floor, hands braced on the cushion below her either side of her thighs. She turned her head just enough to glance at him, saw him just… watching her, waiting.
Because that was the question, wasn’t it? They’d agreed, once—when she’d kissed him, as a joke that backfired instantly when it stole her breath—that they’d never share a bed. Or she’d said that, and Junior had agreed, blushing behind his beard and shaking his head like he was shoving something aside.
“I don’t know that I know…”
And she didn’t. Not really. Did she want more, now? Did she want the connection she saw between her sister and her husband?
Did she want to risk the same heartache she’d seen in them, and in Weiss and Jaune?
Junior shrugged, glancing at the floor before turning back to her, calm and solid, “I can’t help if you haven’t made up your mind.”
“What do you want, Hei?” Because if he had any position on the matter, she could focus on that. She could find somewhere to stand, if he’d put his foot down.
“I think the baby scared you.” Junior whispered, and she knew he caught her flinch. Weiss’ revealed loss had hurt, too close to how she’d thought she’d lost Ruby at the start, “But I think this… the distance started before that, didn’t it?”
Tai floated across her mind, and Yang turned her head to glare at the floor, Junior’s shoe-covered feet beside her sock-clad ones.
“You think I’m gonna run, or you will, if we’re too close.” Junior kept going, his low voice drawing her eyes back up to his, and he looked at her, “Even though I’ve never done anything but sit right here.”
Maybe… she thought as she shrugged, grabbing at her memories of Tai from the Loop with Summer, strangling them along with the still buried rage she held for Raven. She knew it wasn’t true, but it still felt like no one wanted her. Raven fled when she was still too small to remember, and Tai had never cared beyond making sure they had food and clothes. Ruby went off after Weiss, and then after they’d settled into the Loops she’d chased after Roman and never stopped. Weiss had Jaune, though she focused on Ruby often enough. Blake had kept to herself, or rather Belladonna had, before she started to reach out after Belladonna had forced a swap between them and faded away.
Everyone had someone they focused on, and it was never her…
“Kinda hard to ask for anything, when I don’t know which way you’ll jump.”
Her gaze snapped back to him, not having realized she’d looked away, to find him smiling. Not a real smile, too lopsided and pinched, but… like he didn’t know what expression to use.
She didn’t know which way she’d jump either. The feeling of indecision annoyed her, and she stomped on it and reeled her Aura back in before it could heat the room. What did she want?
“I-” She cut herself off, growling as she turned her gaze to the wall behind his desk, “I guess I’m just… jealous. Everyone has someone, except me.”
“Figured I was just handy to have around,” Junior huffed, standing, and panic surged as Yang jerked forward, grabbing his sleeve, only for him to… stop, and turn to her, “I know Roman calls me a “teddy bear” all the time, but-”
“No.” She cut him off, frowning, frustrated tears slipping from her eyes, grinding her teeth as she struggled with herself. With her fear, long buried ‘til now, “Maybe you’re right. Maybe I’m afraid one of us will run.”
“I’d never be able to outrun you.” He pointed out, fully turning to step back towards her and kneeling with a grunt, her fingers still tangled in his sleeve, “And your sister wouldn’t let you get far.”
He watched her, and she fought to hold his gaze as he sighed, his voice quiet and firm, “We’re stuck. I can’t ask for or offer anything until you know what you want, Yang.”
She rocked back, lungs freezing. Yang… he said her name like… like she’d heard Roman say Ruby, or how Weiss sometimes said Jaune, when they were whispering and ignoring everyone else. Like everything he thought of her was wrapped up in the word.
“I won’t be abandoned.” She breathed out, shaking as she kept her white-knuckled grip on his sleeve, vision blurred by her tears, “I don’t- I don’t know what I’d do, if I get left again.”
“Probably burn the world down.” He grinned, then turned serious, “Never been with anyone like you, Yang. A fling once or twice, but nothing that lasted… Don’t know that I know what to do either, except stick around.”
“That’s enough.” She whispered, fingers finally relaxing to slide across his wrist and mesh with his, “Everything after… everything after that can wait. Let me stay.”
“If you’re still here in the morning, we can figure something out.” Junior leaned forward, his free hand reaching behind her to tug her close, their tangled fingers trapped between them, “Your sister is gonna lose her mind.”
“Nah,” Yang hiccuped, leaning into him, “She’ll just gush. Weiss though…”
“I don’t think she’ll care,” Junior huffed, leaning back and twisting up and around with a grunt to sit beside her, letting go of her hand to wrap his arm around her and tug her against his side, “Everybody already teases us. Not like they’ll notice a difference if Red and Roman don’t say anything.”
Both of them paused, then groaned. Yang laughed, leaning into Junior as he put his face in his free hand and grumbled, “Neo.”
0o0o0o0
Yang and Junior are a sort-of on-and-off couple most of the Loops. I call them "Goldilocks".
Yang can get possessive of him, which Neo finds hilarious and will taunt Yang by hanging off of Junior. It only mildly annoys the man, long used to Neo's antics since--in Fruit Loops--he gave Neo and Roman a home, not-quite raising them from teenagers.
At one point, Yang kisses him. And while they both enjoyed it, Yang immediately said they would never share a bed. But she still hangs around him when she's not off with some portion of RWBY, visiting with him over coffee or just existing near him by sitting on his sofa while he goes over paperwork.
It's not like Ruby and Roman, the constant "I will do anything to keep you safe and happy". Not quite like Weiss and Jaune either, months of spending time with each other that gradually shifted into something more that both of them reached for with their whole hearts.
It just is. Yang gradually accepting that Junior isn't going anywhere. Junior having long accepted Yang was a contradiction, bravado hiding her fears of being abandoned.
Me: Great now let’s get down to business. Um, how did all of you fumble the bag so badly?
HAWC: Whoa!!!
Me: Like ya’ll weren’t even Anime or video game villains. Ya’ll were Disney-level villains.
Adam: Disney? Oh no, I should at least be on Vergil's level.
Me: Oh no. Sh-shut your ass up. You were one of my favorite characters. Like you were awesome at the beginning but you were completely terrible.
Adam: Hey my death wasn’t that bad.
Me: You served as a bridge to Bumblebee. Bro you barely had a role in volume six. You were barely a character.
Adam: Fine. I’ll bite. What was wrong with me?
Me: In volume three, you swore to Blake that you would take everything she ever loved. In volume five, you sent minions to take care of Blake's family.
Adam: Okay but I was at Mistral helping Cinder.
Me: Which is fine. Until Blake showed up and one-shot you. And you were willing to kill yourself along with your troops.
Adam: Oh.
Me: Then on the train, volume six, you had team JNPR, one of Blake’s friends and you didn’t try to off any of them.
Adam: I was on a train.
Me: Full of human civilians. One seemingly trained huntsman. And three rookies. Are you serious?
Adam: Um.
Me: Next, and this has been on my mind for the longest. How, on earth, did you manage to find Blake?
Adam: Uh.
Me: Like were you camping at some random station hoping Blake will see you? Did you somehow know where they were going? If so that means Oscar’s to blame because that must be how he broke back into Saph’s house.
Adam: Mm.
Me: Are you telling me that Blake’s ass cheeks are so big that you were able to track her down with just your ears? Seriously cause that’s impossible cause Harriet got better cheeks than her.
Adam: Aw man.
Watts: It ‘s okay young lad. You were just not as smart as I was.
Me: Brother your plan only worked because everyone was stupid.
Watts: What?
Me: Man a drunk housewife proved you were alive and helped Weiss’s father win.
Watts: Minor.
Me: You had Tyrian kill a bunch of people. Only to frame Penny but guess what she had a whole recording of the events. Literally, your plan wouldn’t have worked if any of the characters have asked, “Why is Tyrian here?”
Watts: Well I hacked into Penny so that way she could self-destruct if she opens the vault.
Me:
Me: Really? Oh, that’s great. Let’s give him a hand everybody He did hack into Penny. *stops clapping*.Too bad he fumbled on that too.
Watts: What? Impossible.
Me: Oh, so instead of you reprogramming her to simply kill herself when she opens the vault. You could have reprogrammed her to follow your every command or better yet Salem’s making her a soulless killing machine. Not only would you’ve had a powerful android but another maiden, who will actually follow your orders. Basically making Cinder useless.
Watts: Oh my god.
Me: And you died along with Ironwood. Cinder didn’t even bother to remember you. Hell, she may have planned that shit. In fact, she took credit for all of your hard work. You died like an idiot!
Watts: No. NOOOOOO! I wasted my life.
Me: *sigh* Now for you.
Hazel: Wait a minute. I am supposed to be a redeemed man.
Me: Hazel, you killed people. You served Salem after figuring out she’s immortal. In fact, you had Ironwood scared of you. You had Oscar and Ozpin right in front of you.
Hazel: Your point..
Me: Hazel, I’m not going to lie. I would’ve straight up committed.
Hazel: What? No.
Me: Okay fine, but why did take Oscar, who has no idea how you feel at all because he hasn’t lost a damn thing, to change your mind?
Hazel: He told me the truth.
Me: You mean the same truth you tortured him for.
Hazel: Um.
Me: Then when he told you that you snapped at him afterward for it.
Hazel: Oh.
Me: Then you had to release him because you didn’t believe him. When you could’ve just called Jinn’s name and seen if she appears before you then made a decision.
Hazel: Oh. But I did exactly like my sister would have done. I fought the good fight.
Me: Hazel she wasn’t even a huntress she was still a student. Matter of fact why should I care about what your sister would’ve done if I had never seen her?
Hazel: Um.
Me: *sigh* (This is why I think Jaune should’ve fought Hazel.)
Roman: Okay so what about us?
Me: Roman you good. You had three good volumes. You were decent.
Roman: Alright.
Ironwood: And-
Me: Ironwood you’re not a villain, you’re a broken man. In fact, you were following your heart but not your mind.
Ironwood. O. Thank you.
Cat: Well certainly I don’t need to be lectured then. I’ve have great.
Me: Dude. What the hell were you thinking? Were high on cat nip or something?
Cat: What was wrong with me trying to get to Remnant?
Me: Okay let start with the fact that you tried to posses Ruby first. Then fully tooken control of Neo. Yet Jaune who was in Ever After for years, and was already going through a mental breakdown. Which you called out by the way. Never crossed your mind.
Cat: uh.
Me: Cat think about it. Neo is their enemy. Jaune is their friend. Not only that, unlike Neo, Jaune, after many years still wanted to go home. You couldn't have used that against him or used his friends against him to weaken him. So you can take his body and leave.
Cat: Oh.
Me: Bro, you were going up against team RWBY, the story's main characters. They weren't even holding back and you were still giving them work. But if you had Jaune’s body wouldn't they have held back just a little bit to give you an edge?
Cat: Oh my god.
Me: Plus Jaune’s semblance amplifies the user's abilities.
Cat: I may would’ve been able to kill them.
Me: So you just proved Jaune is stronger than Ruby. Both physically and mentally. Good job. But you want to know what made all that so pointless. What made you the worst villain of all time than Salem? Bro, you could have actually achieved your goal.
Cat: Yes If it wasn't for Alyx.
Me: No you mother pussy fucker. You could've just gone back with Lewis.
Cat: *shocked after a realization*
Me: Bro, Lewis was already planning to leave Ever After. You couldn't take the time to ask, "Hey Lewis. Since your sister is staying in Ever After, forever possibly, can I go with you to Remnant instead?" Alyx would have basically kept her promise to you. But no you wanted Alyx to leave. And when she refused you killed her. Great job, you have proven to be a pedophile psychopath.
Cat:
Me: Okay so hope all of you realize how much of a disappointment you all have been. And how replaceable you are. Especially you two. Watts and Hazel.
Watts: Who can possibly replace me?
Me: Pietro for starters. He made Penny. And after getting screwed over by the heroes. I’ll say he’ll want some payback. But if I were to go with someone better than I say… Dr. Merlot.
Watts:....
Me: He had his own island. His own company. He seems to be more interested in the Grimm than human beings. And Salem controls the Grimm. So imagine, him teaming up with Salem to revolutionize the Grimm research and make the Grimm into a more deadly and effective. I mean he’s done it before.
Watts: Fair point.
Hazel: And me?
Me: Hazel, Junior can make a better villain than you. Anyone can be better than you. But I might as well say Miss Malachite needs to make a return. Junior really just needs better help and him and Malachite combine their efforts they can almost run a business and a city. Not only that they have spies everywhere so information ain’t so hard to find.
