welp. be still my heart, and all in the family re-watchedd just cried a bit
i remembered carter being more inattentive with lucy while they were working on paul sobriki, but he really wasn't as bad as i remembered. he was in a hurry to go check in on abby's patient so abby wouldn't break the DNR order, and sobriki was quite meek and polite outside of being aggravated during the spinal tap. then the DNR patient was dying, and carter's last words to lucy were to have malik babysit sobriki while they waited for psych so she could move on to the next medical patient. in a way, it's the last order of his that she defied
he deffo should have been more attentive and maybe then she would have told him that sobriki was wandering around, but even then sobriki was quite meek throughout that, i don't know if they would have put him in restraints. he was busy, she was on her 2nd rotation, so carter was trusting her more, unlike abby, who was like 2 days into her 1st rotation
and carter went to check in on lucy right after checking in on abby post her first patient dying... if carter's attending was attentive to where carter was, maybe they wouldn't have bled out for so long
i really liked lucy, partly because she was quite a combative person, known to defy or argue the orders given to her, and she had problems with other staff as well. mark had a talking to with her, and she clashed with cleo. carter has a short fuse and can be very dismissive as well, but idk. i feel like it's difficult to place blame on one person, here... unless it's the one who decided to stock the lounge with a butcher knife and no lock on the door cos yikes
