💐 A little sneak peek into my grimoire!
I may be getting a little ahead of myself but who else is very excited for Ostara in 3 days and for all the flowers to start blooming? Because I am definitely excited to see all the snow melting! And with it, the growth of plants and flowers that I use in my annual gathering ritual to make my homemade smudge sticks to cleanse my home.
I know some may be thinking ‘Why not buy them?” And the answer to that is, I do! But I very much enjoy taking the time to wander through the trails in the woods and picking my very own flowers. It’s more personal.
🌱 🥚 Here are little things I do around my home to celebrate Ostara 🌱🥚
💐 Decorate your home with flowers! If you live in a nice climate (unlike me, there’s snow everywhere!) gather wildflowers, Daffodils, tulips, violets or any flower you associate with spring time! If you’re like me and can’t go out to gather flowers, but some fake ones or go to a flower shop and buy some!
💐 Light some candles! Colors associated with Ostara are generally green, lilac, yellow, pink, cream, and turquoise! Or you could get some nice flower scented candles to add a bit of finesse.
💐 Colored eggs! A popular Ostara activity is painting eggs. I like to paint some eggs and meditate on my hopes and dreams for the new year. They can be real or fake, whatever you like best! I personally use real ones.
💐 Planting! As an eclectic witch I have a lot of green witchery in me! I can spend the whole day out in the garden! Planting can be as small or big of a project as you want it to be. It can be as easy as buying a small $3 herb growing kit at the dollar store!
💐 Baking! I love to bake! Especially when my oven isn’t acting homicidal. Try to make something with honey or eggs! My favorite thing to make on Ostara is honey cakes!
💐 Take a walk through nature! This is the most simplest thing to do if you got no supplies or way to celebrate. Take a nice stroll through nature (parks, bike trails through the woods, gardens, etc.) and just appreciate what’s around you!
