I... thought that might be the case. I'm glad.
Of course. You know I'd do anything for you.
You cannot make me serve against my will.
Every important undertaking carries with it some level of risk.
It's a keeper's job to remember.
and here they are together <3 doodled portraits of the Sabrae kids
Would writing Elvhen language with tengwar utilize a Sindarin or Quenya modal system?
would there necessarily be a stark difference between Ancient Elvhen and that of contemporary times? Or would all "fluent" and "educated" elvhen of the dragon age be almost like ancient elvhen...
ALSO i've taken to calling the language of elvhenan and the language of the elvhen simply elvhen.
"Ar lath ma, vhenan"
the left is Quenya, the middle is Sindarin, and last Beleriand Sindarin
"Solas"
which do you prefer?
Quenya
Sindarin
Beleriand Sindarin

"Let me what?" Without skipping a beat, Adris was in front of her. Her hand was on Miriel's cheek, forcing her to meet her gaze again. "Touch you? Help you? Miri... I don't care how broken you think you are. I don't care that you still love him, or that you want to help him. I care that you can survive until then. I care that you can learn to heal. I care-!"
Miriel couldn't stop herself. Adris' lips were soft and warm as Lavellan stole them into hers, barely hesitating for a moment before they explored her in return. Even as tears streaked Miri's cheeks they didn't part, pulling closer together until their bodies were pressed in a tight embrace. Even as they parted for air, they remained together; breathless and shivering with the strength of the emotion washing between them.

A fandom doodle for OC Kiss Week today! This is Miriel, my Lavellan pictured right, with her post-game beaux Adris Sabrae.
Miri is a rogue artificer who is chronically ill and,,, more than a little traumatised. Being Inquisitor, losing her clan, then losing Solas was enough to basically break her until Adris came along to pick up the pieces. This particular scene is inspired by a fic I wrote about them both (smutty after the kiss, just to warn ye) <3
Sabrae has two moods: disgusted and mild amusement.
She’s a Lolth-sworn drow Battlemaster Fighter. Favorite Weapon? Greatswords, though she’s also willing to use a great club to bash common sense into people. Dislikes goblins.
Her only soft spot is she tolerates children. And cute animals.
Sabrae’s the eldest daughter of her house with no talent for clergy. Her younger sister however is a cleric of Lolth. The two sisters have an actual functioning relationship between two.
She also might have stolen that armor from Lae’zel.
Codex Entry: Clan Sabrae
While doing some research on the newly appointed Heralds of Andraste, I have stumbled across information regarding their Clan. While the Heralds claim to come from Clan Lavellan, they originated from Clan Sabrae. To most, this information would not come as a shock, but as someone who has seen what this clan is capable of personally...
It all started with their clan’s First, Malcom Sabrae. Most elven clans avoid humans like the plague, but Malcom knew that the humans had valuable resources that the clan could use. He was in charge of trade and communication with the humans. One day while trading on the outskirts of Kirkwall he met Leandra Amell. The two fell in love in secret, but once the Amell’s found out about their relationship, they fled to the clan. Keeper Marethari was hesitant to let a human stay with them, but she allowed it temporarily. The clan traveled to Ferelden and set up their Aravels near Lothering. Malcom and Leandra left the clan to live in the small town, but stayed in contact with the clan should they need any supplies. Malcom changed his last name to Hawke to sound more human.
Malcom’s family was strong with magic, so it was no surprise when his niece showed signs of being a powerful mage. Valerie was to become Clan Sabrae’s new first and the young Merrill became the clan’s second. When Valerie was a young adult, her and one of the clan’s hunters found an Eluvian and unfortunately contracted the Blight. Valerie survived with the help of a Grey Warden, but no one knows what happened to the hunter. After being conscripted into the Grey Wardens, Valerie was thrust into a war with the Darkspawn with the soon to be King Alistair Theirin. The two created an army and saved Ferelden from the Fifth Blight. After the war was over, Valerie was named the Hero of Ferelden, but she soon disappeared. No one knows where she went, but some swear that she could be seen late at night in the gardens of the castle in Denerim with King Alistair.
Not long after Valerie left the clan to become a warden, the town of Lothering was destroyed by Darkspawn, killing Malcom Hawke and his daughter Bethany. Leandra and her children, Garrett, Marian, and Carver, escaped to Kirkwall where they attempted to stay with Leandra’s family. Much like his cousin, Garrett managed to find trouble wherever he went. He and his group of outcasts (including Merrill the former second of his father’s clan) tried their best to make Kirkwall a better place, but ended up involved in many disasters. After saving the city from a Qunari invasion, Garrett became the Champion of Kirkwall, but soon sullied the name by getting himself tangled up in the mage uprising. After Anders blew up the chantry, Garrett and Marian defeated the corrupt Knight Commander Meredith and then were forced to leave the city. Garrett and Fenris left for Ferelden, while Marian and Anders tried their best to disappear completely.
After the attack on Lothering, Clan Sabrae followed the Hawke family north to the free marches. Once they discovered Merrill was performing blood magic and banished from the clan, there was a rumor that the position as the Keeper’s First was cursed. When Jyn discovered that they had magic, they tried to keep it a secret. They didn’t want to be a mage, so they trained to be a hunter with the help of their cousin Perseus. Life was relatively normal for the clan for the first time in years, until the Keeper was killed by a demon. Some blamed Hawke, others blamed Merrill. The clan had no leader, no guidance. The clan’s best warriors stepped forward to claim leadership, but they couldn’t decide who was the strongest and slowly the clan destroyed itself. Soon it was just Jyn and Perseus’s families that stuck together, hoping that they would find a clan that they could join. Tragedy struck when they wandered too close to Kirkwall’s boarders after the uprising and a few humans that were scared of the elves, attacked. They killed everyone except for Jyn and Perseus. The two cousins traveled for months scared, tired, and hungry, until they stumbled upon clan Lavellan. The clan welcomed them with open arms. After a few months of traveling with this new clan, Jyn accidentally used their magic to save a hunter from falling off of a cliff. Perseus was hurt that Jyn had kept him from this secret from him for so long. Luckily for the two of them, Keeper Deshanna had been looking for a First and Jyn was the perfect candidate. Soon after becoming First, Jyn and Percy were assigned to attend Divine Justinia’s Conclave.
Although the Clan is no more, the name Sabrae will be remembered through their members, for they have created history.
Though I do hope the Heralds do better than Hawke.
