day 8- Mahabharat
Just some internal musings of an observant resident in the Indraprastha palace:
Yudhishthir: the emperor can be seen in the court most of the day with his ministers, the work demanding a certain amount of haste but surprisingly, he never seems like a hurried person. His manner around his place of work always regal and authoritative. He holds kind eyes for his subjects, but rarely a smile. After the end of the day, he can be found with his brothers, or in the presence of queen Draupadi, indulging in pastimes, the constraints mostly removed from his expression, but some remnants are always present, maybe a habit by this point of time. His brothers still steal an improper chuckle from him occasionally, which he tries to hide immediately.
Bhimsena: is normally present at the side of the king, both his most trusted and his shield. There is no one else, save for their brothers, that both of them will trust more. The newcomers always avoid him at all costs, intimidating as he seems. But later on, flock to him all the same because of his warm and amiable manner, can approach him without any hesitation, his laugh always welcoming. The heir likes to walk by the kitchens in his free time, knows everything and everyone closely, and sometimes learns a new skill or two. The cooks take personal pride in his talents, no matter how little hand they had in it. Observing closely can tell you that a few times the queen is there by the door, smiling fondly.
Draupadi: the queen is the hope of everyone in dire circumstances, for she never never loses her calm in times of adversity. She seems strict in first glance, kind in the third one. While strength-wise, Vrikodara is the one who might provide someone with a sense of security, it is Krishnaa herself to whom anyone in need of protection might go, her shelter providing solace to anyone seeking refuge. The full staff of the palace believes that if there ever befell a calamity, like the unannounced coming of sage Durvasa, only she might be able to handle it capably, much similar to her mother-in-law in that regard. Sahdev was the instigator of spreading this belief. Most of the times, she knows you are observing and she indulges the effort.
Arjun: the title of commander of the army may appear to frighten some, but his name receives only affection from the masses. He attracts love from everywhere, maybe a result of the phenomenon of the world being a reflection of your behavior. As sharp his features are during practice, as soft is his caring smile when with his people. Sometimes, his eyes betray a vacant, faraway look. Only god knows who resides in that mind in those special moments. Clearly attached to his family, the affection in his voice is as clear as day, whenever they are around. The staff always finds him running around to complete his duties by himself, Bhimsena rushing after him, yelling at him to rest and him shouting back promises for next time.
Nakul: a delight, a sight to behold, everywhere he makes his presence. Subjects may fumble in front of him, as his charm can be sharp, but he puts them at ease everytime, without fail. He is gifted in the equine field, so the cavalrymen are especially attached to him, their races with him a frequent affair, no matter how much the prince is chided by his elders. His laugh always bribes him a pardon for the clothes torn in the process, for the stray scratches obtained. Whenever Prince Arjun pushes himself, whether in trainings or other duties, he is consistently present, concealed in the shadows, but making sure someone looked out for the incredible archer, his elder brother.
Sahdev: the most beloved of the family, even the king will not deny him anything, but this person is not one to ask for unreasonables. He is frequently found with his eldest two brothers in the court, learning from them as well as his advice being valuable for the elders, the wisdom beyond his age clearly evident. The staff avoids troubling him because they do not want to appear as clingy, even if they love him so, never wishing to disturb him when he is deep in thoughts. But he is always on close terms with the workers employed in jobs outside the palace grounds, chatting without a care, comparing some data and the news around when Prince Nakul rides by, taking the gales and the parchments with him, leaving him sighing.

Pandavas and their grooming habits-
Yudhishthir- takes care of his hair, shampoos them and use expensive conditioner. Use hair masks, oils and serums and with all that manages to have decent hair. His hair is slightly in the curly spectrum.Have a Charlie Chaplin moustache
Bheem- he is clean shaved and have hair that extends to his neck. Puts them in a man bun. (Nakul approves it drapu loves it) has decent and healthy hair because his fooding habits is so good. Occasionally have a tiny beard.
Arjun - Has gorgeous hair. Do not take care much about them but they are so good. Genes. Ever since he married draupadhi some Genes flew from her hair and arrived oh his head.Fuck biology. It only made them better. I used to headcanon him as clean shaven, moustache less but ever since I saw arjun art by @lemponkoira is the only way I imagine him. He has shoulder length hair . Never ties them.
Nakul - ahh. Has the most gorgeous hair. He uses lots of product too even though he does not need them because his hair is awesome but they work for him unlike yudi. People often mistakes him for draupadhi. Lemme explain. When he has his back toward people they are like -"omg did panchali chopped off her hair. How much does one strand of her chopped hair cost? I will bid my kingdom " and then he turns back and does that tappu's hair blowing. And every one is like " TUM?"
He has short hair but as flowy and wavy as srk and dilip kumar. Softer than silk.
Sahdev- his only hair care routine is oiling. Ma oils his hair even when he is middle aged man. Has the typical "ideal school boy" hai and he looks so cute in it. Nakul nazar ka tika him.
Bonus -
Duryudhan- best moustache in the world. Mitra loves his moustache.
Karna - Ab kya bataon. Pankaj dheer. Ghane kale lambe baal. They are so shiny During war of kurushetra every one had a few strands of grey hair except karna even though he is the oldest one.
(Nakul, Sahdev, Arjun and Krishna were seated on the dining table for a little snack.)
Nakul: So Sahdev and I were thinking of something.
Arjun: (chewing his food) Like what?
Sahdev: Like we'll never even know if there's a higher dimensional being from an advanced civilization sitting right among us right now.
Krishna: (chokes on water)
Arjun: Damn straight.
Sahdev: You know I think my life has value. Nakul: Who are you and what have you done with Sahdev?!
