“Dean.” Someone says, loud and breathless. Dean turns around. There’s a kid standing there, looking at Dean, then at the girl. He’s tall—Dean doesn’t often have to tilt his head up to look at people but he can tell he will for this guy—with shaggy brown hair and wide eyes. Dean looks at the blonde girl next to him. “Sweetheart,” Dean says, raising his eyebrow. “You are way out of this guy’s league.”

Or: After a witch hunt, Dean is cursed to lose his memories of Sam. With Sam gone at Stanford, Dean doesn’t even notice. Sam does, though.

Dean took a second to just stare, letting his eyes roam over his baby brother’s body, staring at his flat chest, the skin freckled and pale, looking over his slender shoulders, collarbones hollowed out. He let his eyes drop, studying the way the boy’s hipbones jutted out, wanting to drop to his knees and lick a wet strip across the flat surface. He finally let his eyes fall one more time, focusing in on the young boy’s glistening cunt.

it tells the story of dean laughing himself to tears because sam got kissed on the cheek in first grade and proceeded to trip and fall into a potted plant.

it also reminds sam of the time he had told dean he was sam's favorite person in the whole, wide, wide world, no, actually, his favorite person in the "wholeness of space"! and dean had snorted and told him that space is infinite sammy, because sam was still too young to understand the vastness of it all. and sam had grinned wide and yanked at his shirt and told him that's how much he loved him. if sam had been any older, he might've caught the way dean hugged him then, tight and with his heart swelling in his chest.

so sam touches. and he runs the pad of his finger along them until dean bats his hand away, and then he presses a kiss there, because really, sam put them there, so he can claim them as his.
