Rite of Passage is SUCH a SamJanet episode omg
SamJack shippers get Divide and Conquer but WE get disaster lesbian moms trying to save their daughter from getting superpowers and dying
I have lots to say about this episode but most importantly this scene makes it look like they're holding hands :)
Also I LOVE both Janet and Sam being really competent this whole episode but then whenever they talk to Cassandra or each other you can just tell how scared they are I just love the acting so much. They're so talented.
SG-1 did a really good job at not forcing Sam into being Cassadra's mother. Like they're super close, they play chess on the weekends, Sam was at Janet's for Cass' birthday, but it's so obvious she's not her mom and it just works really well for her character. And likewise Janet really is her mother and it suits her character and doesn't feel like it's been forced into the narrative. (It did a little bit in Cassandra's first episode but it feels so natural here.)
Fill for the ficwip 100 words drabble challenge and the prompt:
"Why am I in a cave?"
"You KNOW why you're in a cave!"
********************
"Why am I in a cave?" Sam shouted up at Janet from 20 feet down.
"You know why you're in a cave!"
Silence. "I really don't."
"You pressed a button. It opened a trap door. So now..."
"I'm in a cave."
"And you knocked yourself out when you fell. That's probably why you don't remember anything." Janet sighed. "Luckily I know who I've married and brought along some tactical gear." She began lowering a rope down.
"We're on vacation, Janet."
"Do you want to complain or do you want to be rescued?"
Sam sighed and swallowed her pride.
"Rescue me..."
What are some Sam pairings you could see yourself shipping that isn't with Jack? 💕
uuuh i love that question!
So first of all, I do ship SamJanet <3 I think Janet in general had soooo much potential and I wish they would have explored her more (but stargate? developing female characters???).
But seriously, they were basically co-parenting Cassandra, and I think that this would be a huge bonding opportunity, on top of them being two women in an extremely men dominated world. i think they would be a great source of strength and understanding for each other and kinda grounding on another.
I also have to admit that I did like Martouf and Narim, and I did like their relationships with Sam (yes, i know there is problematic stuff there but just imagine that didn't happen...) but I don't really activly ship them, if that makes sense? I like what we got and I wish we could have had a different ending for both those relationship without the men always dying.
Platonically I ship her huuugely with Teal'c, I love their friendship just so so much <3 it's so wholesome and beautiful to see that they can confide in each other and that Teal'c is always there for Sam <3
Thinking about samjanet
what if 🤔 ..... we found a traumatized alien child 😔👩👧👽👶😥....on a planet whose entire population was massacred 😵☠🏷🌏⚰💉....so we adopted her and raised her together 😚🙆♀️👩👩👧🙌🏡💖............and we were both girls 🏳️🌈👀👭? Haha jk. Unless 😳?
teehee, SamJanet for the ship bingo :)
