This was PG Clucks's "a tasty fried chicken" entry for Fried Chicken Battle tonight. They won judges choice tonight! Congratulations! Each piece of their fried chicken was brined for 24 hours, then spent 6 hours in buttermilk and dredged twice!

Fried chicken nirvana. The only way to describe last night at The Drake Hotel's "A Fried Chicken Battle." This was Dirty Bird's delicious and tasty fried chicken entry for fried chicken battle tonight. You got my hubby's vote! The other battle contenders tonight were Gushi, Guu Izakaya, PG Clucks and Kanpai Snack Bar.

Tonight was fried chicken battle at The Drake Hotel, sponsored by Sanagan's Meat Locker and hosted by Ivy Pork Chop Knight. It did not disappoint, 5 restaurants did their very best fried chicken and battled it out. I won't know who is the winner till later, but I can say without a doubt that Guu Izakayato in Parkdale serving up their "mochiko" karaage won my heart, my soul, my stomach and my vote! Inspired by Hawaiian mochiko chicken, it was crispy, flavourful and needed no accompaniments. Just pour joy.

When food starts to look like a face emoji, do I still eat it? Having some home baked Aussie meat pies from Kanga for dinner. We always keep a box of 4 in the freezer for nights where we are too lazy to cook. I love the Vegemite gravy and the beef is always top notch from Sangan's Meat Locker.
